Enjoyed it here would recommend anyone to pop in and check the place out like I did! I’d imagine in the week it would be quite cosy as well! Shame I don’t live in the area anymore or I’d pop in more often!

I was told the landlord was changed due to the pub not getting busy enough?
Kirsty Evans: Nice little pub great atmosphere
Kevin Pritchard: Not impressed
David Carr: It's a nice place

Castlegate Harvester: what do users think?
Eliza Davis: CHEZ was our waitress and she was just fabulous. So patient, friendly and helpful. There were 14 of us and because we hadn't booked in, I would imagine it wasn't ideal for her. But she didn't moan once. The food and drink orders were taken quickly and we soon had our bowls for the salad cart. The salad was fresh and a good range was available. Despite the large number of people ordering, our food came out quiclly and it was delicious. One person said her chips were cold and Chez quickly came out with a fresh bowl of hot chips. Nothing seemed too much trouble at all. The kids menu was great, with a main, desert and salad for £5.99 or £6.99, depending on size. Our refillable drinks were great and a real bargain. Highly recommended.
steven Miles: Food: 5/5More
Raee Crawford: Not a massive fan. Waited ages for food. They were then sold out of brownies, wouldn't swap the brownie in the sundae for cook unless I paid full price for both £14 for a sundae that should be half that, no thank you... Cake was then over heated and tasted awful. Used to use the harvester all the time but won't be returning.Food: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot …More
Linda Richards: Just wandering I had fish cakes . They tasted of curry ? Had them at the summer hill were normal fish cakes . Otherwise food goodKid-friendliness: Staff very friendly with 2 grandchildren.Parking: Brilliant
Rick: Well packed on a Saturday night meant it was all a bit hectic, not a relaxing time to go. Having said that the food was very nice and the salad bar was well presented and stocked.
Liam Wilson: Service was okFood: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More

Darkside 1012: Didn't eat, just popped in for a drink. Not The Cheapest For Drinks.....!2 of us, - 2pints, 2 shorts, 2 packets of crisps.- £27+Still, it was quiet inside, and therefore relaxing.
Sharen: Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5More
M S: Very Racist staff. We went with our family but they didn't had table for us. After few seconds later another white family gone inside and they straight away got a table. Worst experience in the word. Will never go back again 😒
Lisa: A friend booked a table here as it was close to where they lived whilst we were visiting. Our waiter was very polite and was trying his best but he was just torn between serving so many tables. He apologised several times as he just could not keep up with the demand. This didn't affect us on this visit as we were not restricted to time. The food was nice and the salad bar was fresh. I found the fish a bit greasy but nothing to complain about.Everywhere was clean and tidy there was ample parking and we would definitely revisit again if in the area.
Matt Hyde: Nice breakfast, love it when the beans come in a separate container 👍Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Keith Bracey: We hadn't dined in a Harvester for about 20 years and it was excellent We loved the salad bowl and both had the £17.95 Mixed Grill on a BOGOF offer after signing up on the Harvester App. The waitress was excellent and very attentive and the place was empty when we dined on a Thursday lunchtime Great venue and meal and we won't wait another 20 years before using a Harvester again! Keith Bracey ❤️

Jolly Crispin: what do users think?
David Butler: Great traditional pub with a good selection of real beers . Good cobs. The hot pork scratchings are a game changer .
Andy Cadman: Bar staff friendly but nosey regular who watches what you drink and comments
Malcolm Underhill: Great pub and a good beer choice
M martin: Always a good selection of real ale alongside their own brewed beers
Sean Russell: What a fab find. Proper Black Country boozer with a fine choice of ales. We had a lovely welcome and the bar is dog friendly. Will definitely be going back.Have just been back on a midweek evening, quiz night so was busy, ales were bostin'
Joan Cooper: Great pup
maggie williams: Nice quiet pub garden area for summer and a good ale pub
Justin Wood: Great pub, great beer, great staff!!!!!
Thomas Luxton: New owners do not understand what made it a good pub before. They have taken a old traditional ‘Black Country’ pub with original features that attracted civilised drinkers and tried to modernise it. They have installed large TV screens so they can broadcast sky sports, put out modern decking, put in a new PVC doors and seats, all of which are not aligned to the traditional character of the building. There was a reason why they never sold larger before and that’s because civilised people drink ale and it used to keep the larger drinkers away. Before, it was common to see a couple of dogs inside and dog biscuits at the bar, but it doesn’t seem the right atmosphere to bring your dog anymore. The new owners have even managed to squeeze a games machine behind the doors to the lounge at the cost of the door only opening half way. The result of these poor decisions have created a poor, rowdy atmosphere, attracting the wrong crowd of people. It used to be a nice place where everyone knew everyone and everyone used to be happy. The new owners didn’t seem to have much experience pulling pints - having beer splashed back on them and taking ages to serve. We miss the community connection we once had, such as the monthly newsletter that was on each table, or the events which Rob put on, such as the brass band at Christmas. I have also heard there have been a couple of incidents where glasses were thrown across the room. This weekend was meant to be a cider festival, but they couldn’t even staff that this evening and had to shut that down. I’m advised the ladies toilets were an absolute disgrace. It really is a shame, it used to be a nice safe atmosphere, where I’d recommend go for a drink.I recommend go somewhere else for a good pint including, the Old Swan, Netherton; The Bull’s Head, Gornal; The Brit, Gornal.
missxtreme07 - Vix: Me and my fiancé visited for their winter beer festival with our dog. The landlady was very friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and I was even offered chocolate sprinkles with my beer which really was a game changer and improved the bitterness of some beers
Allan Clarke: One of the best pubs in the area, good staff, nice atmosphere and most important good beer. Well done
robert pitt: A great pub with a fantastic selection of cask beers.Would recomend to all beer lovers 👍
Greg Ev: Good range of reasonably priced, well kept beers. Cobs. Snacks. Great boozer.
Matt Hyde: Love this place
Chris Homfray: Alright pub shame they don't accept cards and is a cash only pub, what business is cash only these days?
debbie: good beer
Melvyn Allen: Fantastic evening / night so welcome by the staff will definitely return
Pete Leach: A great, honest 'Black Country' pub. I loved every minute I spent in there.Maybe it's just me but this type of traditional pub to me is what a real "Boozer" should be. Real Ale & Real people.Thank you Jolly Crispin for a lovely evening.
Nigel Green: Smashing friendly pub ,great selection of beers n cidersStaff are very helpful and cheerful
paulene temple-jones: Very friendly now under new management. Great Ales very good bar staff
Ian Craig: Good pub, pleasant staff. But they don't take cards!
