Village Hotel Dudley: what do users think?
P C: This hotel is absolutely terrible. I travelled from Canada for a family wedding. Most of the brides family was staying at this hotel for approx 3 days. I was very disappointed in the front desk service, the quality of the room was extremely poor and run down, towels were old and the bedsheets had stains on them, electric sockets were no where near a mirror, walls are paper thin, the elevators were not accessible - the elevator had been broken for weeks, we were never told of this issue in advanced - my senior family and small children had to struggle down the stairs daily. Not to mention the staff were not accommodating. In the middle of the night there was a fight on our floor which involved violence. I did not have a phone in the room to contact front desk to let them know what was happening. We were left praying someone in one of the other rooms would call the front desk or police. My family was woken up by the noise, night staff attended to hours later and nothing was resolved. The night staff were rude and minimize the situation. My small child was up most of the night. Hotel staff did not allow for a late check out - I had asked for an hour tops and we were told no.Beware of this hotel. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Steven Mahey: Where can I start? When thinking about staying in a hotel room (with the reputation that The Village has) you wouldn’t expect to be staying in a room that feels like you are next to the sun. It was absolutely boiling throughout the whole stay, even with windows wide open and the Dyson fan on max setting. By the way, the Dyson fan was shocking! I understand why it has been connected into the wall socket to prevent theft, but the positioning of the fan was also shocking as we couldn’t move it close enough for the cool air to be felt. Also, there was no glasses in the room - I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to include them before we check-in. Another thing, we was denied late check out as we were told “too many late check-out requests have already been requested and accepted, therefore none is available” This shouldn’t be a problem for us as it was the hotels fault they gave them out, and if we wanted a late check-out, the option should have been there. When a hotel doesn’t have a contact number for the reception/room service, something isn’t right there. We have to phone and go through to an operator who even had trouble herself contacting reception. Absolutely useless service!Walkability: Good distance to walk to restaurants and Tesco around the corner.Noteworthy details: TV, bathroom and bed was good.Everything else needs tweaking to make sure the experience is improved.
Craig Dubberley: Room was great, staff on reception were really helpful and friendly.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Carpets we fit We supply and fit carpets: Lovely hotel made us very welcoming and done everything to accommodate us very friendly staff would recommend to friends and family Nathan went above and beyond to make us happy 10/10 serviceThe bar was friendly and service was nice and easy with good customer service dean made us feel very comfortable and welcomingbreakfast was ok and the waiter service was greatwe’re be very happy to returnNoteworthy details: The hotel accommodated are needs in what we wanted
Jo Rhoud: Very nice rooms need 4 star rating
Aimee Billings: Nice place, just a shame most of the drinks prices are over the norm for the area.
clifford charlesworth: Rooms: Need USB plugs for charging in roomsHotel highlights Great value …More
Nightmare Man: Came here for a Peter Kay tribute night. Great venue and food. But let down by terrible security. I've worked years as a Door Supervisor at the NEC, Wolverhampton Civic, and the function rooms at the Molineux in Wolverhampton. I'm normally very forgiving and defensive about door staff working a thankless job due to my experience in that role. But these door supervisors need retraining, and should be in the job for reasons other than a mini power trip. The job is mostly customer service based. Not harassing guests, then making up fake laws specific to Dudley when confronted about their wrong doing. Wont be returning until the Village finds a competent security provider.
Dave CAPTbanjo Walker: Noisey. You can't sleep with the window open because of the proximity to Birmingham Road. Police sirens and idiots in cars driving like they stole them. People slamming doors at all hours. Take ear plugs if you sleep lightRooms: 3/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Andrew “Heatshield” Ridley: Nice place, the rooms are nothing special. But comfortable. The restaurant staff are half-soaked, young kids with no personality. Food expensive, but well cooked.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Joshua Hammond: Bedroom facilities were excellent and staff were very friendly. The bed was comfy and the Dyson fan was a bonus. Would definitely go again and recommend
Caroline Hughes: Fabulous locationRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Etelka Kovacs: Had a great stay here with my partner great rooms, service, and lovely comfy bed. Also had a lovely breakfast next morning. Really enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again. Only one thing the lift wasn't working so had to lug our bags up to our room. So please get the lift fixed ASAP. Thank you.Rooms: Nice and clean and comfy bed.
Kam Braitch: Excellent service from staff really helpful great hotel not to keen on the room it was dark not bright bathroom dark not bright lighting.Food & drinks: Good
Sarah I: Lovely stay!Room service was late - really disappointing seen as bad to phone to down to remind them about it.Would stay again!
Lin Walford: We joined the village to just have a nice leisurely swim, the pool is cold, we complain but nothing is done, a lot of the ladies are a little older, and have joined for this reason, needing the warmer waterRooms: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Kelley Backhouse: We've stayed in lots of village hotels around the country and this was by far the worst the showers in the pool area had mould build up food in the restaurant was ok but definitely not the best I found the staff not brilliant in customer service and to top it of I saw 3 rats running across the car park disgusting it has really put me of staying with you again

Alison Shepherd: Rooms: Rooms are adequate although a little dated. Could do with being brought up to date. But clean and tidy. Bed comfortable and fantastic view overlooking the waterfront.Food & drinks: Food was good especially breakfast. Lots of variety/choices. The bar area is lovely however not very well stocked. We asked for glass of wine but waitress told us they didn't have much choice at the moment. Didn't ruin our meal though so no big deal.Noteworthy details: Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. In particular Vikki in the restaurant, she greeted us every morning with a little chat. Very helpful too was the male receptionist on our first night sorry didn't get his name, we reported a problem with our room and no quibbles moved us to another room straight away. Room was tidy and clean thanks to Emma.
David Grainger: We had a 2 night stay. It was 5 star accommodation. Rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing for the money. There was so much choice and couldn't fault anything. The breakfast items were replenished quickly so you were not waiting for anything.Vicki and the team are a credit to the hotel and I will be returning in the future.
kay buckley: Lovely hotel to stay at. Will be back again for our 3 stay.Food & drinks: Breakfast was beautiful.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Romantic …More
Richard Byatt: Great hotel with great rooms, the daytime staff were brilliant and so were the night time staff, the receptionist on the front desk was so pleasant and professional when calling my brother and sister in law a taxi at almost 2 in the morning even though they weren't even staying at the hotel. We will definitely be staying here again and might even try a more luxurious room tooRooms: Brilliant spacious roomsNearby activities: Lots of bars and restaurantsWalkability: Easy to get to amenitiesFood & drinks: On site bar and restaurant
Beverley Goodband: Fabulous stay at this hotel, only 1 night sadly but will definitely go back again. Staff super friendly & helpful, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast amazing, hot, well prepared, plenty of options. Only gave 4 stars for the room as there was 3 of us but room only set up for 2 people & I found a piece of what was possibly garlic bread under the bed, quite mouldy so had been there a while, only found it as I dropped my phone.
Joshua Hancox: Stay here for work at various times during the year. Rooms are always clean and staff are friendly. A special mention for Shelley, she is a fantastic waitress and nothing is too much trouble during evening meals. Premier Inn Dudley Town Centre hotel: what do users think?
David Chadwick: A/C did not work, supposedly room for four and jammed in like sardines. Paid for an evening meal which we couldn't have due to the oven not being cleaned but they could microwave two meal! 😳😳Never again
Paul Jenkins: Rooms are dated, breakfast is nothing like they used to be. Shame, really.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
John Windebank: The hotel was comfortable and easy access and the staff were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. Food wasn't bad eitherRooms: Very easy access even with a mobility scooter. When asked they provided a door wedge making it pretty easy to go in and out of the roomNoteworthy details: Don't be afraid to ask for help. The staff are really friendly and will do what they can to help. TOP RATE SERVICE
Vera Huggett: It was like the rest of Premier Inns. .basic but that's fine...accept we had to leave our rooms at approx 1am in the morning due to some person smoking in the room..it was a very cold night..n I have breathing problems n the cold weather certainly doesn't help with my condition Im also recovering from heart procedures which adds to the problem. .. .Only been in bed 1.1/2 hours..the night staff was talking on the the phone as she couldn't turn the alarm off...she knew what room its was but couldn't isolate the alarm...apparently the police came n escorted the person to the police station. ...no apologies for us though. When my friend tried phoning the head office as she had booked the room ..their policy was. ..something like .you can't get any money back as it was a fire alarm...So this time round our visit was a little bit stressful. Which is what I don't need.
andy goodall: Upon arrival at about 8.30pm a member of staff was waiting outside for her Uber but went out of her way to greet us which was nice, once inside a very friendly and polite lady called Grace checked us in. The following day my wife and I had forgotten our phone chargers and our phones were nearly flat by the afternoon, we asked at reception if there was anything they could do to help and Grace got a charger so we could both charge our phones whilst having a coffee. whilst we waited for over an hour for our phones to charge we observed Grace and Maria who were covering reception and found them to be very polite, professional, welcoming and they were just two lovely ladies. There was also another gentleman who worked there that was sat in the dining area on his laptop that was also friendly and pleasant to guests and staff, in the morning we handed our room key in to the same gent and told him we'd had a lovely stay. we have stayed in quite a few premier inn and thought this one to be the best.
Kurwin Gungaloo: Great place to stay. Comfortable bed, friendly staff and good food!
Chris: The hotel is in a good location, it was clean, tidy and quiet. The only issue I had was the restaurant and this is why I’ve given 3*There is a hungry horse next to the hotel, I assumed this is where I would be eating but no. The hotel has its own restaurant, it looks more like a bar but this wasn’t a problem. What was a problem is the lack of choice on the menu!Including starters, mains and desert there was no more than 10 items on the menu for all. If you don’t like curry or pizza then you’re going hungry! The chef was the hotel manager, I’m all for efficiencies but that’s a bit too far. The breakfast on the other hand was good so I don’t want to take that away from them. The biggest issue of all was the waitress, she didn’t really have a clue bless her. We ordered two beers and a third of the glasses was just head. I mean if she works the bar how has she not been shown how to pour a beer? Absolutely disgusting!Don’t get the meal deal here it’s really not worth it. It’s far more cost effective and overall a much better experience to eat at the hungry horse next door.
Mazim Nwafor: My family and I were there twice in February 2023 and I was impressed with the quality of service.Breakfast at weekend was very good and the staff were amazing!
Kelvin Faure: Rooms are standard, But very clean stuff is really helpful and nothing's not too much for them.Nearby activities: There are many food options around the area around the area differentypes of pub cinemas cinemas bowling alley etc etc.
Louise Dodds-Ely: Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice and quiet, easy to park.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
mick Greensmith: Nice breakfast not a lot choice for dinner,Other restaurants eateries very close bye. 18 min walk to black living museum.Very polite staff. some activities for children.
David Hickie: Great staff couldn’t do enough for us clean rooms and will definitely stay again
Algirdas Jarutis: Remonto reikalaujantis bet atmosfera puiki
Kevin Sparrow: The room was clean and the bed comfortable but very stuffy and not noise proof at all. Got woken up on numerous occasions by other guests in other rooms making a racket. Its proximity to the zoo and museums is its main draw. The breakfast was great value and they make an extra effort for those with allergies, which is a big plus for us.
Amy Howell: Friendly staff, great sized rooms, clean and welcoming. We asked for extra tea and coffee, and it was no trouble at all. Bed was really comfortable, and the shower was lovely. Location is close to restaurants and other places to visit.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Debby Davies: Clean, tidy. All staff very approachable and always polite .Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More
Neil Daniels: The Night-Time staff are very good but the daytime I'm can be very rude I didn't know until today after we left that that one member of the staff was quite rude with my two year old little girl by snatching a toy from her which was free if I would have known at the time I'm I would have smashed it back off him and probably lose my rag with him was quite clearly you could tell from this person that he got some kind of learning disability which is fine wood don't put him in front of house I will definitely not be saying there again as I say the nights time staff were fantastic just a day time I'm stuff ruined it I'm not a happy customer and are looking to take this matter further about what happened with my two-year-old daughter with Premier Inn
Karen Burley: Food awful. Very little choice all microwaved, roughly a mile up the road at premier Rowley Regis food and choice so much better, when you are paying for a meal deal you would expect the quality to be consistent across premier inns.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Mark W: + Good room and location, to where i needed to be.- Staff always chatting in the kitchen, leaving guests at reception frustrated!Very poor "selection" of evening meals - best go next door to either the pub, or one of the fast food outlets

Jasmin Lal: Booked Dudley travelodge as they are a local budget hotel but not happiest in the slightest. Was given room 007 that stank of damp, the shelf in the bathroom was broken and the window didn't even open? When we complained, we were told we were given that room because we brought early check in. So the standards of the room were poor because we paid extra! My partner explained we needed a window and the receptionist with an attitude responded "the other windows only open a small amount anyway"We were moved to room 206. No service and buying wifi was a headache as i couldn't even type in my details. Went to the bathroom and it reeked of cigarettes which it didn't before. Someone must have flushed a cigarette or the smell was in the ventilation because that was the last straw. Checked in at about 1pm, checked out at 7pm - couldn't bare to be there for the full 24 hours. We have attended travelodge in West Brom and i would much more recommend it. Never had any issues there, always friendly staff and for an extra 10 minute drive its worth it.

Tim: WORST HOTEL EVER. DO NOT GO HERE!!I never write reviews, I never really complain but believe me, You really do not want to go here!!!First of all the lights in my room fell of the walls, there was no warm, water in my shower. The room was allright for the rest. But listen to this, When i was away for the evening, the staff memmbers gave a key to my room to other guests, when i arrived back they were in my bed!! I went to the lobby to ask what just happened and they just gave me my bag and another room, like they didnt mess up?!Went to my new room to find that all my stuff had been stolen, my Nintendo switch and DS and other valuables. When I went back to the receptionist, they gave the other couple a new room and wouldn't tell me where they were located, so i could not retrieve my stuff. Imagine that!! The security guard was absolutly no help and the staff member not once tried to help, she just said, call the police. Like WHAT?Imagine that, imagine going out for the night and they just hand others the key to YOUR room and all YOUR stuff, and then won't help you or compensate you. Because YES, the staff nor the manager answered any of my questions or anything. They just left me their, when i had to return home, nothing was compensated. Imagine that! The new room I got by the way, again had problems. Showerhead fell off. Toilet wouldnt flush. This is not just someone who complains like i said, I just hope everyone will read this and go for a better hotel. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone.
Munteanu Valeriu: ,,,,,,,😅😅💯💯
Richard Thomas: Room was clean enough, but the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything the next rooms were doing, and one of them was coughing consistently right through the night. On top of this, the room above us had a broken window which was slamming in the wind and causing our room to shake with noise. This was reported and they tried to fix it but it carried on until the wind died down. Then to top it off the fire alarm went off for about 20 seconds at the crack of dawn.I appreciate it's not an expensive hotel, but the first thing you'd expect is to be able to sleep and unfortunately we didn't get that.
Audra Thewlis: Me again !!! Been here few hours now. Burnt my botty in the bath …. In a good way. Don’t even get water this hot at my house. Just about to have a coffee that’s been provided. Cappuccinos available downstairs. If I wanted to pay a zillion pounds a night I’d be at the Hilton. Trust me, I’m a fussy one. Like things to be just right.Reading the horrible reviews and I’ve just been laughing at them. All I’m concerned about is what’s going on in my room. Not spotted any ex cons blah blah blah. At least not in my room.Just be kind. 🙄
elizeu miguel: Achei muito bom ,limpo e confortável
Konnor Brolly: Proper buzzing place to stay besides, receptionists don’t mind having the lady’s of the night staying with also
Maisie Gregroy (MaisieGR): Lovely stay!
richard hodge: Great service, but no restaurant or bar on site.
Teena Wilkins: Nice clean room .Bit of a party stay over hotel , other guests were noisey.Fair play to the hotel staff they soon sorted them out
Botond Bodi: Nice and clean! Enjoyed it!😁👍
Dave Parry: Drug taking by other residents cars getting broke into for my sins I had to stay an extra week to be told to leave at 11 o clock as booking wasn't made but they took the money for booking and kicked you out. Rooms are dirty and dated. Staff don't really give a toss about the residents. I reported a car being targeted in car park and security just carried in watching tele and dint care. I would not recommend staying here it it is a half way house for ex cons just got out of prison AVOID.
David Ellett 14: Good job experience and good hotel to stay in also fredley staff
Sue Burrrows: Lovely place to stay. Had a good nights sleep & nothing too much trouble for staff. Would definitely stay again.
LadyJai: A slight mix up at booking was quickly and easily sorted out. Clean room with very hot water for a bath which was appreciated! Kind and helpful staff.

The Station Hotel & Banqueting: what do users think?
Ben Jones: The beds were comfortable and the room was generally well equipped. I wasn't expecting a small kitchen in the room which was a pleasant surprise. John Dodds: First the hotel and restaurant are separately run. Hotel room was great with interesting extras. My room had a toaster and a multi-oven/grill. Plates cups frying pan and fridge so you could self cater! The staff in both places were very nice. The restaurant was peeky-blinders themed, food well cooked and good value, decent range of choices . The real surprise was both the real ales on tap were very well kept and served. Very tasty. Looking forward to going okay I went back it was brilliant I will return
Paul Golder: Attended an event seems a very nice place but can't comment on rooms etcLocation: 5/5 …More
Betfred: Service was slow
Debbie Allnutt: I hate having to give a Bad review but apart from it's location this place was awful. Stayed in room 114, the dribbling water took 14 minutes 58 seconds to warm up both times I showered and when it was mentioned to staff they gave absolutely no ***ks infact the lady suggested that me taking the filter off should assist with the pressure andheat???!!! The rooms were clean but that is the only good thing I will say about this place.
Paul Wood: Great venue thats been refurbished.
Matt Bunn: Couldn't fault it, clean and efficient, perfect for a working week just to lay your head, especially if alone as single room is more like a bedsit with proper kitchen sink, work surfaces and cooking facilities, also take advantage of 3 communal washing machines ! It really is a decent little bedsit type room - if you insist on finding a fault...then I'd go maybe better windows required for what traffic you do hear (on a main road in Dudley), but even that's not overly distracting - all in all, a very acceptable place to stay
Ali K: The bar/pub area looked fun, the check in area looked nice, staircases were pretty but the rooms....omg the rooms...so, we paid for an apartment suite but there was no lounge area, no communal sofa's, just a table and chairs squeezed into a small kitchen area in which the 2 oven tops took 25 minutes to cook an egg. The sink for the bathroom was in the hallway, not in the bathroom itself, literally in the hallway. The furniture was cheap, the stools in the rooms...yes stools, looked like they weren't strong enough to hold the weight of a toddler never mind an adult, the mattresses were hard as rock and we all complained about having no sleep and bad backs the next morning. The TV's were apparently new and weren't connected to the wifi and didn't have freeview, even the employee didn't know what to do when we asked for help. The rooms were absolutely freezing and the radiators were tiny, no where near big or strong enough to heat the rooms. The suites themselves need some major transformations, seems most effort was plowed into the bar area downstairs. Overall disappointed with the rooms/suites tbh :(
geoff wells: Me and my friend used this hotel overnight stay being a show we were attending. This place is full of history and Peaky being highlighted throughout was amazing and a must to see. The manager and all the staff made us fully welcome to result in a very late evening in there Bar with entertainment etc. We felt as if we were part of a big family joining in with locals etc being a well warm welcome to all. It was great all round and I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and facilities.Geoff Wells
Lin Newton: Bed was too hard. Room was a bit basic. It's on a busy road with no double glazing. I know it's an old building but still. No hairdryer. Probably a good place to visit if you are into Peaky Blinders but it wasn't for us.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5 …More
Malc Newton: The room looked like it had been updated in the past year. Trouble is it was very stark. Brilliant white walls, ceiling, cabinets and bedding and one single, very bright cool white light on the ceiling. No bedside lamps so it was mega bright or nothing. No hot water. There were signs telling us to let it run but there was no hot water. Turning the mixer to the hot position just stopped the water flow.No hair drier.Noisy because the windows are single glazed, old sash windows and te roads are busy.Matress rock hard.On the plus side there's a basic kitchenette with fridge, toaster, kettle hob and a few utensils. The electric shower was good.I would have mentioned the issues to reception but it was deserted at 9.30am when we left.Better options nearby I feel
Adil R: Lovely Peaky Blinders Theme at the hotel. It has very unique canvases and statues. Worth visiting if you're nearby. The parking is free. You just have to register your number plate when you come in.
merlin smith: Liked the new decor. My stay was short but nice. Sat and had a drink and spoke to the own about the peaky blinders. I would go back.Rooms: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Himley House Hotel: what do users think?
geraldine cox: only stayed for one drink,Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Chelsey Holford: Visited for dinner, was very disappointed in the quality of the food. Had a steak which was served missing the grilled tomato, when this was pointed out to the server they said they had ran out of tomato. They did not offer any alternative and weren’t very apologetic. Also said they had ran out of ketchup. Those who I was with also found their food disappointing, the pies were soggy and undercooked. Definitely not worth the money unfortunately.
Grace Maddocks: Meal for a friend's birthday. Pre-ordered so food arrived quickly but I'd be reluctant to call what we got "service".We received the bare minimum of attention, food was brought and taken away. We were there for three hours and only got asked about drinks as we arrived, never offered any more or asked how the meals were.Staff were grumpy and had a very CBA attitude. Had to go and ask for the bill and the waitress was dumbfounded.Usually great service and food but the portions were small, lukewarm and bland, really disappointing visit, especially for a celebration.
Angela Hope: Food & drinks: Well what a disappointment! Have eaten here numerous times and food always lovely but not today! Firstly seated by outside door so had to keep getting up to close, asked if could move, but apparently full even though tables empty whilst we were there. When food arrived one of my friends salmon was raw and potatoes cold, waitress apologised and took away, unfortunately when arrived back with new meal we had nearly all finished our meals and friend left to eat on own! Plus 2 of us had fish goujons ciabatta, no fish just batter and ciabatta dry and lettuce wilted, plus one of us had onion and other not 🤷🏻‍♀️ so left. Told waitress but seemed to have an answer for everything. - new menu, what does that have to do with quality of food , door open - carnt close as people outside 🤷🏻‍♀️. Sorry but you have lost our custom mainly due to staff attitude with answer for everything, a simple apology and reduction or voucher off menu would have been nice.
Adam phillips: First visit to the restaurant. Enjoyed a tradition Sunday Dinner. The service was a bit slow, but the staff were very friendly and polite. We had the small slice of bakewell tart possible, but the custard was loveiy.

Jacquie Caine: Went for meal with friends. An order for gluten free starter was placed and a few mouthfuls in a waitress came rushing over to apologise that it was not gluten free and my friend had to hand it back over. For main course my husband and I ordered sea bass and scallops risotto. The fish’s skin was still slimy like it hadn’t been cooked. The scallops were insipid looking and again looked like they were not cooked . The rice was not cooked and instead of the peas being mixed in the rice it looked like a large spoonful had been thrown on top. Neither of us could eat it and it was replaced with fish and chips which was greasy. When the bill came they still charged us for the seabass instead of the cheaper meals so the bill had to be changed. Service was terrible we had to go and chase waiter a few times to get any service. There was no real apology or any refund on what was an awful meal. Will not be returning any time soon. We used to use this restaurant a lot but would not recommend to anyone in the future. Definitely gone downhillFood & drinks: See above
Stu Whitehouse: Excellent service and the food looked like the chef took care and was proud of the dishes served out, a nice change from the usual pub chains. The lady who served our table, Tarnya, was exceptional and was conscientious to our food selection and gave excellent recommendations. Considering it was a busy Sunday afternoon, the service was swift and the food presented brilliantly. The toilets were immaculate with a high-end feel about them. A very pleasant Sunday afternoon dining experience enhanced by Tarnya, a credit to the rest of the staff who delivered top service. One star deducted for the gentleman at the booking till who called my girlfriend “darling”; some may say the comment could be an ice-breaker or familiarity with the customer, I found it unprofessional, call me old school.Great place to eat and drink.

Patrick Star: We stayed here a few weeks ago and despite the negative press around this place, we can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The food was fantastic and the service was thourough and attentive. The manager seemed to be on the ball and keeping his eagle eyes trained on the staff (given recent reveiws that is probably for the best for improvement)The rooms were clean and well made upWell done guys 🤙
martin bergin: Didn't stop in the hotel.Went for food on my birthday, I don't want to be harsh on the staff because they were all very nice, but the service was so so bad, late food, cold food, they basically had a nightmare. Used to be a good venue, so I hope they book their ideas up, but I won't be going back any time soon.
Allan Clarke: Booked for evening meal, did mot have my choice of wine, one steak meal arrived without vine tomatoes, dessert meal arrived with no raspberries, told none recieved on delivery that day. Decor dirty and dingy. Only saving gace is that the staff were really good. Not be going back, although have to admit it was quite busy for mid week.Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More

Castle View Aparthotel: what do users think?
Ahmad Aljasem: What a horrible hotel I paid upfront and stayed two night with no heating. Rooms were freezing and when I called them they didn’t do anything about it.. would never go back and Advise people to look for another options
Dawn Fenton: STAY AWAY! They have a very sophisticated SCAM. Check for the smoke alarm being covered up with white tape, they will then charge you £250 for calling out a workman to take it off (supposedly) claiming that you covered it up!
Matthew: Very good rooms and a good price to
Gayle Mcculloch: The hotel is in a great location. Right in the town centre. That us the only good thing I can say about Castleview. The customer service was terrible. Staff were rude and unhelpful. The rooms were cold due to them not putting on any heating unless you actually call them to say that you're sat there shivering in your coat. The beds desperately need replacing, I slept in a ditch in the bed, with springs poking in to every bone. Went home with aching muscles and very poor sleep. All in all, i donner recommend to anyone. Worse place I have ever stayed.
Will Procter: Stayed here as it was “close” to the Black Country museum… it’s not! 25 minutes to jog/ speed walk, longer to walk! They state they send emails with codes to get in, still waiting for those! We instead ended up ringing to gain access. There is no management on site so it’s all by coded locks, which the lockpickinglawer on YouTube shows you how to defeat! But there is cctv, if anyone monitors it?The room we stayed in was right on the corner at the front, and could seriously benefit with secondary glazing! Single pane windows are rubbish for noise deadening and also heat retention. It was cold and noisy! The kitchen in the photos is non existent. We had a kettle, a fridge and a dehumidifier, and between the later, noise to keep you company all night! The imaged microwave/ cooking facilities are a lie!The tv was on the wall perpendicular to the Ariel socket, with a door in between… cable tv is non existent as advertised nor was even terrestrial! Again, another lie! There is WiFi, but without information to access it, the smart tv remained dumb and we couldn’t get on the net either! Oh and that’s a third lie, they have made! The bathroom is ok although I had to fix the bathroom sink plug, one of the only redeeming features is the powerful shower! The car parking is street based and only available in the evening for free. So no lie in, unless you want a ticket! The promise of a car park is a fourth lie.The coffee machine in the entrance was broken for our entire time, so clearly not serviced or monitored. Given it is a revenue source, you’d think they be on it!Finally the deposit which is taken, and supposedly returned within 7 days, is not! They don’t answer their phone to you, and ghost your messages. You will only get it back by disputing it with your bank!TLDR: they scam you for a deposit, room is cold & noisy, tv and WiFi is not there, nor is the cooking facilities, but the shower is ok.I wouldn’t stay here again.
Philip Webb: If you just want a room for your stay. Then this is ideal.Rooms: The rooms have everything you need for basic accommodation including your own bathroom. They have TV but they are WiFi so don't expect live TV. The doors are code locks so very secure.
Jason Band: What a horrible business who's management have absolutely no redeeming qualities. Booked a room & payed up front (what a mistake that was never again) only to be subjected to what can only be described as aggressive harassment for, get this, me to give them my credit card details, pay another £100 for the damage I would cause & for me to hand over a copy of my passport! I received no less than 22 messages both emails & texts in a 24 hour period. It got to the stage where I couldn't concentrate on my job, my business & that's not an exaggeration. I simply could not stay there so arranged alternative accommodation & when I asked for a refund was told that in the small print that it was none refundable. They kept my money. I'm sorry but to say I can't recommend this place is the understatement of the year so far for me. No thanks! 👎
Margaret Ibijoke: The studio was nice, provided with most of the needs except a failed promise of car parkAll packings in the vicinity was just not applicable as users couldn't pay for parking,it was a job to leave the hostel purposely not to get in to trouble with parking ticket.
Jermaine Patterson: Very good rooms good location from town but the bell did not work and staff take long to sort problems but them was the down sidesRooms: 5/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Astrid Francesch: Tea bags inside the extra dirty kettle. Tobacco smoke inside the rooms. The photos are fake, nothing they show is available. Extremely noisy rooms, not clean. Avoid this place.
Lian Da: Great efficient staff lovely clean rooms right in the middle of town 5 stars !!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Chandru Sivasubramanian: DON’T EVER STAY ON THIS PROPERTY. Scammers will take your deposit and never return back. Remember if you need your £100 back don’t ever go to this property. Property scammersRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5 …More
Anuja Sivakumaran: Booked two rooms, one of the rooms didn't open using the code so technician came to fix it which took 3 hours.Room 3 smelt of alcohol(beer)and side lamp didnt have a bulb. Room 5 heavy smell of cigarettes and draft coming in from the windows. There was no microwave as advertised and Lack of cutlery in both rooms. Wouldn't stay again.
Angus B: Great location to all amenities in Dudley and surrounding areas
Chloe Hall: 🙂: the room was clean and cute, had most things we wanted, would stay again. Didn't have hot water first day but soon got fixed. Friendly staff.☹: however upstairs neighbours were rather noisy especially during the quiet hours, didn't have a microwave as it said during listed and not much kitchenware to go with. Bed in the middle was lumpy and uncomfortable but not so bad elsewhere.
vali stanciu: I recomand it, very nice and clean location, the only think i didn't like is that in the pictures i sow a washing machine but it wasn't in the room.

Himley Country Hotel: what do users think?
Adam Rafiq: This is by far the worst place I've slept in my life! Had to stay for 2 nights the first night they had to change my room because there were stains everywhere on the bed bathroom dirty. The second room wasn't much better apart from the fact it had a clean bed. Shower flooded the bathroom, no soap mould everywhere in bathroom! The bed has given me a terrible back. Mattress is as thin as a sheet of paper and you can feel every single metal spring digging in to you. Bar also very underwhelming you have to wait about 30 mins for someone to come serve you a pint warm as a cup of coffee with a head bigger than the moon. Awful hotel, awful service avoid like the plague. I wouldn't wish my worst enemy a stay here!
Phill Everitt: Poor and more.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
stub mandrel: It's a sad hotel that feels like a few helpful staff are trying to keep people happy as the place quietly disintegrates. Bodged repairs, awful wifi, no restaurant and just feels tired. Apparently, it was thriving once, now a cheap stopover. Mattress felt about an inch thick. Smoke detector swinging from ceiling. Appaling view. But it was clean and the staff were helpful. And cheap. And crazy mirrored alcoves in the coridors.Rooms: Basic...Safety: Not sure it's a place I would feel safe if I was a lone woman.
ROBERT SCOTFORD: Sorry to say since my last visit some years ago this hotel has really gone down hill I was there for 3 days and saw no sign of life at all in the restaurant food wise decor very dated and well worn ....should imagine it's a good contractors hotel not recommended for families staff that I saw were functionalSafety: My room was not so secure and the majority of the rooms I passed looked in the same condition doors damage and half hearted repairs carried out
andrea martin: NEVER AGAINmy chickens coop cleaner than our bathroom
Rosemary Mc Garvey: Update 18/02/23 I travelled from London today to go to this hotel in person as manager Natasha has failed to respond to several emails over the last 6 months. The young man on reception produced my booking which had been doctored to remove the cancellation policy information. Thankfully I was able to produce my original copy which clearly states I am entitled to a refund if I cancel my booking. The young man took a screenshot and sent this to Natasha who then called and waffled with excuses as to why she wouldn't honour a refund. She then threatened to call the police and have me removed from reception because customers were arriving.this is the most appalling customer service I have ever experienced. I will continue to chase my refund and refuse to allow Natasha and this hotel to continue to screw good decent honest human beings out of their hard earned money. This is obviously how they earn their living. All unhappy customers need to come together to stop this happening. The reviews say it all. I am in the process of arranging for the local press and rogue traders to converge at this hotel at a suitable date and time. It is time we make a stand against these thieves. Please respond via this review if you wish to be part of this.Previous reviewAppalling Customer service and failure to adhere to their own Cancellation PolicyReview of Himley Country HotelReviewed 2 days agoDONT BOOK THIS HOTEL...........Sadly I made a booking back in June 2022 for this hotel for a stay in April 2023. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I tried to cancel this and. now several months later following several phone calls, emails and a letter of complaint the manager Natasha has failed to respond or honour my refund. I have spoken to several members of staff who sympathise with my situation and explain that Natasha is the only one who can deal with this and refund my deposit of £156 which was also over charged when booking. I have checked their cancellation policy on my booking invoice and it clearly states that cancellations will be refunded providing I give 7 days notice prior to my stay. I have clearly given 8 months notice. I am being told by staff to send emails, call between 9-3 Mon-Fri and that the manager Natasha will be available. I have done all of this and still no response. Natasha seems to constantly off site. Today when I called I was told they only consider cancellations during the week and to call again on Tuesday. Having been diagnosed with a serious health condition (reason for cancellation) This is adding additional stress to myself and family. They have ignored their own complaints procedure and are withholding my deposit. Not what you expect from a professional business,

Simon Bonsai: The young man on reception did his best. Good luck to him! Where to start with the awfulness? In our room - side lights didn't work, TV remote didn't work, mattress had springs poking through, bathroom radiator broke, woodlice in the rotten skirting boards, dogs no longer allowed. Totally dreadful. Never againRooms: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Reda El Bayoumy: I like this affordable hôtel, cheap for its services however this time I had no hot water, could not sort it out but still satisfied of my stay.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Danny Mattin: A classic example of a hotel with more effort and money spent on the exterior facade of the business than the actual interior. It's all very grand and good looking from outside. However when you enter it's all very dated and musky. My room was cold, mouldy and had paint splatters throughout the bathtub and bathroom. The toilet flushed but was backed up with something ie a nappy or a previous guests bodily waste. The heating didn't function, bath tiles were mould ridden, hot water was just lukewarm and i had to boil/empty the kettle 20 times to compensate (at leasts that functioned) summer lightweight duvets had been left on the bed and the carpet was dirty. Overall not worth the money or discomfort staying here...
Kelly Bates: I would not recommend staying here. There is never anyone at reception, the whole building and room was absolutely freezing to the point my partner had to move the bed closer to the radiator. The room was filthy and the bed was absolutely shocking, we both woke up with bad backs. The cold water in the bathroom runs warm and the shower barely gets warm.
Louise Greenfield: Wouldn’t even let my dog stay here. The rooms are disgusting, dirty and in need of serious modernisation. Bedsheets had been used with hairs and dirt in them. Shower covered in mould and even more hairs. No chance of getting even lukewarm water to wash hands or take a shower. Staff are rude and completely unprofessional. We didn’t dare try the bar or restaurant based purely on how bad the rooms are kept. Cobwebs and dust everywhere. Cups stained. Paintwork looked like a child had done it. Easily the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.
Kishan Patel: Awful, wouldn't even let a rat stay in it. No hot water, Mattress is not a mattress, feels like a knife in my back. Very old.fashioned. rude staff. Even ruder builders on site drinking whilst on the job when I can see the alcohol next to them. But it's ok because the receptionist says the do alcohol test every 2 weeks. If they keep the hotel at this standard, what chance of alcohol test every 2 weeks is a lie. Can't even maintain rooms let alone staff. Who even does alcohol test every 2 weeks.
Nigel Robinson: Terrible place; hardly any staff and the few they have have had no training or leadership. Manager is completely out of his depth and shouldn’t be in post. So sad to witness the shambolic level of service. Nobody behind the bar or reception and when someone finally turns up they pull a face at having to pour a drink and then they slam it down in disgust. Can’t even pull a pint of lager properly - disgraceful
Fizzii Moosh: It's like Fawlty Towers, but worse.Just gonna bullet point cus otherwise it'll be an essay:- car park is disorganised and pothole ridden (badly so)- room smelled like chlorine/mothballs/vinegar/dust/burnt fabric all at once- furniture/walls/ceilings/tiles/etc in DIRE need of maintenance and fixing as it was borderline hazardous- mould in the bathroom (especially on the tile grout)- TV included... But it didn't work.- poorly scraped soap remnants in the bath alongside hair and footprints- irritatingly loud buzzing from the horror movie-esque fluorescent lighting- paper-thin walls and staff loudly talking to each other in the corridor during the night- someone tried to open my door at 3AM (thank god I have a travel door lock I take with me everywhere)- unclean bed sheets with horrible plastic-y under bedding- bathroom taps had the options of "cold water" or "vaguely lukewarm and slightly brown water"- badly adhered wallpaper over mouldy/damp walls- only 1 of the plug sockets in my room actually worked, the rest had blockages or apparent damp damage with rust- scratching noise in the ceiling and walls that I'm hoping wasn't mice but I don't think any alternative is better to think about- extremely inaccessible to those with disabilities- bizarrely standoffish and dismissive front desk staff (but tbh, as an ex hospitality worker, I get why working in a place like this would suck the soul out of you).I didn't stay for breakfast or even step foot in the dining area. There's a Premiere Inn literally just down the road from this place. The rooms are the same price and at least they'd actually maintain the rooms to a decent standard. It was £42 for the cheapest room available for a single night - really, I should've slept in my car.

kdunn875: booked a last minute stay here for one night with my partner, was greeted by cristina on arrival who was very friendly and approachable. the room itself was spacious, the TV was a bit small and half of the channels on the freeview didn't work which was slightly disappointing and you do have to pay extra if you want wifi. we did need to ask for more sugar however cristina was helpful in giving us more. the bathmat I will say wasn't safe as you still felt like you were going to slip on it, but those are just little feedbacks. other than that the rooms and halls were very clean you could smell the cleanliness as you walked down there. the bed was really comfy too so, all in all was a nice little stay and would stay again.
Mark Haddock: Great place, but not much food close byRooms: Very clean and tidy. Very little neighbour noiseFood & drinks: Expensive vending machine in the hall
Radu Apolzan: I have booked 2 nights at Travelodge Birmingham Dudley, my room was not very tidy which I did not like it as I paid for a nice and clean room. louise jenks: The other half picked this place has it was cheap. The post code doesn't direct you to the place either. The staff are friendly. Other half asked for a quiet room but wasn't banking on Town traffic early hours of the morning. The room was a bit dated & the bed wasn't comfy, my pain from my trapped nerve got triggered off again. Had to ask for another toilet roll has the other half used it cuz of tummy troubles but the lady was very helpful in getting me another one has there was only half a roll instead of two in the room
Steve Greatorex: Stayed here one night to go to a gig in Birmingham. 20 mins+ to Utilita arena.Free parking a bonus.Room ok , warm enough on cold night.Bed made in a rush? Looked like it had been slept in was that loose.Water not very warm next morning for shower either.Really friendly girl on check in and next day on checkout. Was very quiet even though on busy road.Must be OK as it was packed, but then I suppose at those rates it would be.Food & drinks: No bar or Restaurant, but got pizza and chips from the guys down the road delivered (Napoli pizza and grill). Best pizza I've had in ages and they threw in a small garlic pizza for free. They do have a vending machine though, but good luck figuring that out.
