Roy Hayes: The Fountain is a great pub with a friendly welcome. The rooms are really good too.

Jay Cheek: . Pool table, lots of seating and a little cruise area at back. Friendly staff and reasobly priced drinks.

Darren Ridgway: Fantastic Bar that we always call at when visiting Birmingham. Premium quality drinks served by very attentive bar staff who know how to provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Not to be missed is the superbly looked after garden area . . You'd think you were sitting somewhere in Spain! Can't wait to return.

Matt McSherry: A great little pub and hotel on the edge of the city centre. You can see how much the owners care for their customers. It’s a room above an old pub so there is noise and you could probably find faults if you wanted to, but for the easy going budget traveller this place is great. Wet room bathroom was a lovely bit of luxury. Bedding was excellent quality, I slept very well both nights. The owners were friendly and helpful, recommended a good local barber etc.

John Browne: all great highly recommend

Cucchlain O: The last 'old school' gay pub left in Birmingham. Chilled out atmosphere, and no blasting music which is nice, friendly staff and punters. Space to be intimate out back.Tends to be an older crowd.

Gary Royston UK: This is a great place.Bar staff are so friendly and bar service is excellent. Music is great, you will hear many long gone classics and Nicki the DJ is also lovely and played some good tunes.Definitely give it a go. Love the place.Well done Fountain team!!

Rebecca Rose: Excellent 3 night stay. Staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough. Special shout out to Vikki at breakfast who was very attentive and chatted to my children all about their day.Food & drinks: Great menu with lovely food choices. Breakfast was fab too.

Andrew Johnson: Convenient location with a large car park. Welcome by reception staff was great. We'd checked in online and asked for our room to be cool. The room was extremely well presented, comfortable and clean. Heating was off in the room and a whisper-quiet fan left for us too. Very impressed! Breakfast was really good, piping hot, plenty of choice and all good quality. N

Howard Auty-Darlington: Booked this hotel again as we were visiting the BCLM on the same day. Very friendly staff, especially Jake, Jess, Ash and Ryan from the Faradays restaurant. Their service was excellent and the food, was to die for. Very clean/comfortable room, and the breakfast was well equipped with your breakfast needs. All in all, an excellent overnight stay and we will be coming back again in the near future. Well recommended A+++++Rooms: Very clean and comfortable.Walkability: Easy reach to the bars and restaurants and also the Mall across the road.Food & drinks: Food in hotel was excellent and good value. Other bars and restaurants just over the canal too.

Leo Guest: It's a nice hotel, it does need a little tlc but it's got potential to be better. Don't get the wrong idea, it's good, just not great. I didn't try the buffet breakfast or the pool etc so can't comment. Parking is adequate and free, just remember to book in for the duration. Perfect location and we have already booked for 3 weeks time. What can I say, I think you will like it.Rooms: Clean, plumbing a little old but ok.Nearby activities: Black Country Museum and many more.Walkability: 15 minutes walk to Merry Hill shopping centre, 5 to pubs and restaurants.

Raja Hamza Wazarat: Had an amazing spa day. Amazing massage and service from the staff. Sadly the Steam room was out of order. The massages we received from Ellie and Natasha were genuinely the best massages we've ever had! They were amazing. Will be back ☺️

Mandy Stott: A lovely hotel to stay at if you’re in the area and the staff were absolutely great - particularly Vikki who really looked after us at breakfast and dinner- she really helped to make our visit special - and she genuinely remembered us from our last visit over a year ago. Vikki is a real asset to the hotel!I would also like to mention Adam on reception whose friendly approach made us feel really welcome and who helped us a number of times over the weekend with glasses, hairdryers and other little issues. This is our second stay at the hotel and we have enjoyed ourselves and would certainly visit again.

Natalie Webb-Riley: and entering the pool. Other guests in the hot tub shouting a conversation with swimmers is plain rude too. Swimsuit spinner didn't work. Great hairdryer in the changing rooms.

Angela Kind: walk shopping/eating and so much more. To note: copious amounts of steps, if you struggle with this a car journey is literally around the corner.Food & drinks: A great Restaurant/Bar on site. Reasonably priced, thoroughly enjoyed the meals.

Andrew Woodward: I've visited this establishment on a regular basis for the last 33 years. I have seen it change and develop through several guises during that time; Funky Forest and all sorts.33 years later and I still regularly visit once maybe twice a week. There is a pleasant vibe to the place which I like. I have eaten in the restaurant with family and friends often and have never been disappointed. The staff here are lovely; I know it's wrong to single out two particular people but Magda and Tarnia both deserve plaudits. Cool selection of music too.I've never stayed here as I live locally so therefore can't comment on the roomsFood & drinks: Good selection of ales and lagers. Good choice of menu.

Katie Schilling: Food & drinks: Always have a gorgeous meal here! Atmosphere and staff always brilliant too

Mark Challenger: Only went in for drinks but was made very welcome and there was plenty to choose from. Food menu looks enticing too, will definitely be going back.

Wayne Musgrave: Great service from very lovely staff but the food was far above the standard for your ordinary Green King/ Chef and Brewer restaurant. Speaking to the lovely waitress afterwards I discovered that the chef is 19 years old and takes real pride in the food that he serves and it shows. I had the pork belly starter, followed by slow cooked venison shin main. Then had a sticky toffee cheesecake dessert. Have to say that it was all amazing! Unfortunately the chef had left before I was able to pass on my compliments but whoever you are I expect to see you on Masterchef one day. #serioustalent

Tina Richards: We had Sunday lunch menu catered for all tastes, food was excellent and the staff extremely helpful and attentive we had two children in our party and felt that they were made to feel welcome.Service: 5/5 …

Richard Carroll: . The worst thing was the heating being locked on full blast all night, it was like 40C in there all night so I didn't sleep too well, the bed was comfy but I couldn't settle in the heat. Breakfast was basic but good enough. All in I'd come back if they fix the heating.

Lucy Clark: Usually stay at the Ibis when going to gigs but booked here. Lovely big rooms. Comfy clean beds. Lots of space to chat and chill and a continental breakfast. Brilliant.Rooms: Large rooms. Perfect for groupsNearby activities: O2 Academy just over the road.

Adelle Gaddes: This hotel was lovely. The people were welcoming and happy to help. The room was clean and had good amenities such as hot drinks, hair dryer, etc. It was perfectly situated for us as it was across the road from the O2 academy where we were going that evening. There are a number of restaurants and shops within walking distance, as well as the train station. The continental breakfast had a good selection - items were refilled promptly. Overall very happy with our stay and would recommend / stay here again.
