Neela Morarji: AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! I asked for a leather jacket to be dry cleaned due to scuffs at the cuffs and near the zip. However, not only was there no evidence that the jacket had been cleaned, but there's now a blue biro mark on the lapel!!!! When I complained, the response was simply that unless I have photographic evidence, I have to pay £25 for the extra stain! This is despite the fact that we went through the marks on the jacket when I dropped it off and there clearly wasn't a blue biro mark on it initially. AVOID these people if you don't want extra stains on your clothes.

Hupa Vlog: Hi, I have recentley came for a trip to Birmingham and I did so much shopping and needed to shorten and some other clothes I had to rapair. So i came across Dudley and looked afew places for repair, some were expensive, some gave me long time to get my clothes back. I went to a little outlet called Fountain Arcade and it was a nice and cosy tailoring called Star Tailoring, the staff very friendly and the quotes were cheaper than places I met before and they asked me to come collect them within 24 hours.The jobs were like neat and clean and very original look and also they iron my clothes for the favour. Well recomended for locals if you live there and if I come to Birmingham again, I will bring more clothes from family and friend to repaire.Thanks

Fittings are available for all customers but some garments can be dropped off to me on the doorstep if preferred, providing that you are able to pin/fold or give me the measurements.

Jess Fellows: Wedding dress alterations where fantastic my dress is beautiful and I’m so happy with the work carried out can’t wait to wear it.However if your a larger wedding party all looking to get in on the action, it’s not the right place I’m afraid as it’s only a two person policy on fittings sadly***Edit ***On getting my wedding dress home and being able to try it on with my bridal party (which I was unable to in the store) the under net of my dress hasn’t been cut level and is all up and down (free hand cut) leaving it longer in places. Disappointed! Please check the under of your dress as I had mine shortened- will have to no fix. My under skirt has been stitched up / folded leaving a visible crease in the light and see through.Lightning is quiet poor in the shop and not natural light (shutters are closed on appointment) so it wasn’t until in natural light I saw the errors

Emma C: I took a suit jacket in to get the sleeves shortened. They told me that they could get it done by the next morning, as a favour, as they were very busy. They phoned me just over an hour later, as they had finished it! Made things so much easier for me, and the work was very well done. Slightly on the expensive side, but for the quick turnaround I think it was worth it. Not something I would have attempted myself!
Ollie Darby: Went there to ask about having some patches sewn on to my denim jacket, the man who works there (I assume he is the owner) rolled his eyes, huffed and puffed, and gave me a price that was way over the odds. This is now the second time this has happened to me within the last 2 years, definitely wouldn't recommend, the staff come across as half-soaked

Anne Weston: I took in a coat to get a new zip. The lady explained that she was going to replace it with a different type of zip (I wasn't aware there were different types). She checked the colour (black) would be okay as previous zip was grey. Very thorough. I also took in another coat which had come apart at the seams. She fixed it straight away and I collected it after about half an hour. Very pleasant experience and I shall be taking in some more clothes which have been needing repairs for ages. Emma Jeavons: Can’t fault their work but their customer service is non-existent. Both times, first taking a few pairs of trousers in and then picking them up, I was quite uncomfortable with the way I was spoken to. They refused to alter one garment telling me it fit - ok, but it doesn’t fit how and where I’d like it to!? If you’re willing to look past the service I think the work is good, but I have spotted another alteration shop just up the way that I will be trying before returning here…
Linda Parsons: I took a dress, that had a long satin pleated skirt, to this lady. The dress was a little too long and I had damaged it a couple of times by standing on the hem - it was no longer wearable.☹️ I told her that I would like it shortened a few inches and put the dress on as asked. While standing there she took a pair of scissors to the pleated skirt of the dress and cut off a perfect 2 inches all the way round😱 She then discussed the two different ways that the hem could be stitched (it couldn't be rolled or hemmed) and told me the price of each. She showed me the stitching on the material that she had cut off so I could see what she was talking about. She asked me when I needed the dress for and a few days later it was ready for collection. 😃If you are taking in anything for this lady to look at/repair or adjust make sure you have some time to spare. She can be very busy but in return she will give the same amount of attention to everyone who comes through the door in turn.This lady is an amazing seamstress and has a heart of gold 💛 with a great outlook on life. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.

Sophie Wastall: Please be awareI went with my wedding dress and completely regret it.The actual work she did wasn't horrendous however I have had to take my dress to another lady to re alter the dress.She claimed she altered the dress to where she pinned it, however I asked for the dress to be to the floor and it was a good 3 inches off the floor showing my shoes. Unfortunately there was no going back from what she had cut off and I have had to have the dress completely re altered ad stretched to look half respectable.I asked for the dress to be taken in and the cups and straps to be altered and it appeared to be un achievable. The fit of the dress was completely un acceptable and was asked for help in ideas to fix what she had done.I was totally un happy with the work completed and when asked for a partial refund was offered £30 off the original quote. Which when I have gone to further alterations, I have been advised I have been totally over charged for the work.Please be wary when taking a wedding dress to be altered. Unless it is very simple work please do not take your wedding dress here!
