National Trust - Kedleston Hall: what do users think?

paul adams: Very impressive place. The house was was kitted out to impress. The original entrance would have brought you in from the outside with a view of wealth as soon as you walked in. With acres of land and interesting walks. As you walk from the car park you can see the estate stretching for miles around the house. My wife added another stamp to her ever growing National Trust Stamp Book.Restrooms: The restrooms are outside in the grounds but quite modern with automatic taps.Dog-friendliness: Dogs friendly in the grounds with a dog area set aside.Picnic area: Plenty of picnic areas if you bought you own food.

Julia Thorley: Awesome place!

Melanie Jackson: Brilliant long walks. Great for dog lovers

Mark Hodgkinson: Another fabulous National Trust property....What more can say.....

Kev Merrall: It is arcitecturally amazing inside and ever room has a guide who can give you lots of infomation about the history. Also the grounds are great for lovely walks.

Andrea Wheatley: Only called in for a coffee and then had a little look around the shop and the church.

Randall Hutter: Very, very nice, only a short walk from parking to the house and church.Beautifully kept and clean to a dust free atmosphere.Guides are well informed and are very friendly and eager to share. The church is steeped in history as is the house.Wonderful gardens to walk about and dog friendly, not the house, of course.Restaurant has vegan options, and with having baked potatoes available, you can get a gluten-free meal. The museum is beautiful and well worth the stop. Also, the shop is well stocked with dog treats and gluten-free biscuits along with other cool things.Overall, it was a great pleasure to visit.Restrooms: Very clean and modern toilets.Dog-friendliness: Happy pooches everywhere on leads.Picnic area: Small picnic area next to car park 15 or so picnic benches.

Patricia Bullock: Lovely visit for a rainy day!!

Tracy Fearn: Loverly place xx

Joy Munro: Despite the weather not being sunny and bright, we had a very enjoyable visit to Kedleston. It was a busy Sunday morning, and the carpark was pretty full, but we luckily managed to find a spot. We headed straight to the cafe and again managed to secure a table and enjoyed a hot meal before heading off for a walk. The grounds are plentiful and there are many flower beds, but in March, they are busily preparing these for the spring and summer colourful displays. After this wet winter, the ground is still drying out, so on some of the paths you had to pick your way around the puddles ! However, the walks are scenic with many choices of routes of varying lengths. Some of the views are just stunning. No visit is complete without an enjoyable browse around the NT shop.We did not choose to visit the house as our objective was to enjoy a walk , which we did.We will enjoy visiting again later in the Spring and see how the gardens bloom.

TheGeoffafa: Just lovely!

Charlie Mouse: Nice place, large open grassland but it can get very muddy. Not a great amount to see in the house but what is there is nicely displayed.Make sure to call and check as they sometimes have sections of the house closed off especially during winter. They have a backpack policy so if you’re planning on taking photos you will have to leave your backpack or bag in the free lockers or carry it on your front.Restrooms: Toilets with an accessible toilet with radar key.

Michelle Donovan: A great day out, one of best NT homes we've visited

Mike Betts: Ilam Park set in the stunning Peak District National Park and managed by the National Trust provides a lovely opportunity to commune with nature in the great outdoors. There are footpaths throughout the extensive grounds. A convenient car park is free to use for Trust members and the Manifold Tearoom provides welcome refreshments with seating indoors and outside. Toilets are available, located close to the cafe.
