Sewing Classes Derby: what do users think?

Diane: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueAfter sewing for most of my life, I began taking classes to brush up my skills with Tanya. 3 years later I'm still going! I have learnt so much about patterns and construction and I really enjoy the ideas Tanya comes up with. Great classes and I would highly recommend giving it a go. There's always something new to learn

Jacqueline jacqui: WONDERFUL..... learning in a fun and friendly way. Making exquisite items.. every level catered for.. cannot recommend highly enough. Jacqui

Emily Ogilvie: Really good classes, very concise and simple instructions and a lovely, patient teacher. I've made 2 professional garments and I can't wait to make more.

N Bate: I came away from the session, happy with the experience. Tanya had been very helpful and I now had something that I had made and would be useful. This was my 1st step into the world of sewing and I will be wanting more! If I can make clothing for either myself or someone else, it would not only be beneficial but also satisfying to say 'I made that'!N.

Suki Bains: I had an amazing fun time at the beginners sewing class today! Made my first cushion and already hooked... Tanya was a fantastic teacher who worked at pace of class and made me feel very confident using a sewing machine for first time. Tea and biscuits were provided even so engrossed only had one lol! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn ... me I am going back for more! Thank you Tanya looking forward to more projects x

Joanna Flower: What a find!!! My 14 year old daughter has found her dream...Tanya is inspirational! The studio, her various creations; endless talent from wedding dresses to suits to jewellery to hats..... But so encouraging to my daughter...and not only has she tutored her on her textiles project for gcse but she has awoken a passion.... And that is the sign of excellent teaching!...

April Young: I did a cushion making course as a complete beginner. I was a bit nervous but Tanya guided me through every step to a great result.. I was amazed at what could be achieved in just a couple of hours. I took my own machine, which has been in a cupboard for 2 years as I couldn't get on with it. Tanya explained the tensions were all wrong and patiently set it all up for me. Now I can confidently use it at home with my new skills! Highly recommend Tanya's place, which incidently is also in a beautiful building in Sadler Gate above a lively gallery. Thank you Tanya..

helen rogers: Brillaint! My new resolution for 2017: learn to sew my own clothes. I`ve been learning to do just this with Tanya... I`ve made 2 gorgeous dresses so far and am starting my 3rd.Tanya is a very talented and highly skilled dress maker and is full of passion for all things textile! She is full of ideas for designs and inspirational about choices of fabrics and colours! With a great deal of patience , a great attention to detail at every step of the way and a wonderful sense of humour, Tanya has taught me an immense amount about how to sew well ! From being rather clueless, I now feel a lot more confident handling fabric and constructing clothes that I know are going to suit me and fit me perfectly!I feel I have discovered a whole new world of possibilities and am very excited about all the beautiful garments I`m going to be making over the year!My next project is a going to be fabulous skirt in a beautiful soft tulle net...think Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex in the City.I`m also, planning a series of simple and classic A line skirts in linen for the summer! in fact I have so many ideas now that Tanya has made me feel everything is possible!Love every minute I spend in her classes. And we share a love of chocolate!

Tehreem: She has got many designs available for you to choose if you don't have any idea what would like to make as your first dress. During the lesson, she offered us hot drink and we didn't know that we spent 4 hrs instead of three hours lesson. Bless her.

rubina khan: She is so friendly and competent, she made everything so simple for me which I can't dream of designing on my own.

Taz Khan: Tanya is an excellent teacher, bubbly, and wonderfully enthusiastic. The place is lovely and inspiring. I thoroughly loved getting sewing classes here and making my dress, and I intend on going again to get some more teaching

Sophie Taylor: Attended a coat making workshop today. From the moment I entered I felt very welcomed buying the fabric and then into the workshop room I felt at home with other students. The set up was well prepared and organised with ample equipment and full size printed patterns. I especially liked the informal demonstrations of particular components of the coat and could ask questions as many times without feeling like I was annoying Elaine. Elaine was very friendly and let me stay a bit later to finish my coat. I will definitely be returning for courses here.

Campbell “Donna” Family: Great haberdashery shop at reasonable prices. Attended a workshop which has been really good. Elaine is a very knowledgeable patient teacher and explained everything by demonstrations. We then got to practice on the fabric. All pattern pieces were cut beforehand which was a great time saver. Free tea and coffee with contribution box should you feel inclined to put some pennies in. Car park on Hill Street opposite only £1 for the day. Cafe Gusto opposite delivers to the workshop too. Great experience would definitely do again.

sophie dainty: Brilliant fabrics and fab workshops! Definitely recommend - 5***.

Nicki Weekes: Great for material and sewing.class

Sophie Nicholls: a completed project!

Nigel V: Lovely helpful people, came for some machine needles and got a free bobbin!

Dee Edwards: Really nice atmosphere to learn to sew. Very patient with newbies.

Debbie Crawley: I great place to learn new skills and brush up on some rusty ones!! 👌 10 out of 10!!

Jennie B: Great selection of fabrics for all types of projects. Plenty of hardware and notions to choose from. Love this shop! Also has workshops regularly.

Annette Gammon: Absolutely fabulous sewing workshop's and brilliant for all your sewing needs

Julia Mahan: Attended 2 day shirt workshop, having never made a shirt before. Fantastic experience that resulted in a lovely shirt that I will wear. Elaine is a brilliant teacher and the set up of the studio and equipment first class.Workshops are really good value for money and will provide you with skills that can then be used at home.

Maggi White: I booked the hoodie course and spent a brilliant day learning new skills from Elaine, who really is as patient and knowledgeable as everyone says! The atmosphere is very friendly and we all finished our hoodies that day. I'm now looking to see what I can make next!

maurika trewren: Love this shop the staff ate always so helpful and friendly and polite

Sharon Poxon: I attended my first workshop today with Elaine and a friendly bunch of ladies. The planning and instruction was excellent and the class was great value, even more so as the materials were included. I did the Get to know the overlocker part 1 and I'm keen to do part 2 . I came away feeling great and ready to have another go with my neglected overlocker which has been in its box and gathering dust and taking up space for several years.
