Ashbourne Camping and Caravanning Club Site: what do users think?

Ian Pegg: , Karen is there if you need her, but in the main leaves you o get on with your stay.In summary, yes the site does need some investment

steve shuff: Been coming to Ashbourne camping and caravan park since Avon Estates took over. We absolutely love spending time here, great location for families, everyone is friendly and Karen is very helpful and attentive. The site has hard standing pitches and a great camping field. The kids loved exploring around the site.I saw a review that was very negative about the site and all that it offers, well I would totally disagree with Jonathan, showers were always cleaned and plenty of hot water, dishwashing room was clean. The grass was cut regularly and certainly not ankle deep,The site offers decent sized pitches, a safe environment.Safety: Very safe for familiesWalkability: Lovely walks from the site

Dave L: Stayed here last year but noticed it’s no longer bootable via ccc%%? Is this site still operational

Joseph Clarke: Lovely clean site. Pleasant views and easy access from the pitches to toilets and other facilities. There are some lovely little ponds with a maintained path around them which takes you through some beautifully wild areas. Close to Asbourne town centre and other local attractions in the area. Highly recommended.Playground: Playground and small football fieldDog-friendliness: Dog walk area.

Christine Mulligan: Lovely quiet campsite, only issue couldn't get wifi to work as no signal

Middlehills Farm: what do users think?

Louise Fee: love the play park we stuglle to get them off it. Well stocked shop which has all the things you could wish for . Clean toilets which work properly and its a convenient time that all music switches off at half 10 which means that me and my family can get some sleep. But if you wanted you can sit in the front of the tent and do other stuff which dont involev music! People have been mentioning the quarry but it never seems to bother my familt except one time my 11 year old woke up but it only took her 5 minutes to get back to sleep. We have went to other campsites as a change but we just cant seem to do it ! Middlehills is defonitley to way to go

Jon Sargeant: We did just a one night stay as it was the kids 1st time camping but I can't rate this place high enough, first thing you notice is how clean and well looked after the place is. We set up on the top field next to the wall which was a perfect spot as it got the evening sun at the front and the morning sun around the back which helped dry the dew off, its also close to the park where the kids would have stayed all day given the chance and not far from the showers/ toilet area. The showers are 20p a minute but common sense should tell you put a £1 for 5 minutes which is more than enough time, they were very clean and nice hot water. There was also communal fridge and freezers in there. The staff Gary and Kath couldn't be more helpful and never stopped in all our time there even coming to my rescue as I'd left tablets charging with my ignition on all night which killed my battery, Gary came straight round with jump leads and got us going again then as we were leaving he was towing somebody around trying to bump start them. There's an onsite shop which is well stocked and very reasonably priced. We all loved our stay and will definitely be returning

Fussy foodie junior: It had a very nice play area for children and the view was goodLocation: 3/5Hotel highlights Kid-friendly …

Caroline Styles: Hotel highlights Kid-friendly

Lisa Underwood: Lovely campsite, very clean & well maintained, great for kids with the park & dog friendly. Little shop is a nice touch, selling camping stuff, outdoor toys, and food, locally sourced, not overly expensive either. Staff working at the shop are really helpful & friendly, they walk round the site chatting.Toilets & showers are spotless, there is a small charge for the showers, so bring along some 20p. There is a communal fridge & freezer to use, which is a nice touch, non EHU is a pitch where you want, so no allocation which, I much prefer, there are also EHU. The views are amazing.Walkability: Great for hiking & bike rides

Emma Quig: The most wonderful place to camp with our children friends and familyNearby activities: Thorpe cloud dovedale. MatlockWalkability: Beautiful walks around

Michael Evans: We stayed 2 nights over the May bank holiday with kids. The owners made us welcome and play ground was a big hit. The shop was well stocked and good value with local produce. Lots of space for kids to play football. We drove Matlock baths one evening and a great walk around Thors Cave and local valley. Quarry noise started early but you up early so don't worry. We will be back. Thanks

Common End Farm Campsite: what do users think?

Sandra Boot: Camping in the van. Owners were lovely. Showers, toilets, washer, pot wash area all lovely and clean. Beautiful fields. Dog exercise area too.Location: 5/5 …

Nick Dixon: Fabulous site. Amenities were great, site is well maintained, and the views are wonderful. Will definitely be back

Abdul Rahim: . They have fire pits to hire, which is noce to gather round at night. They also have a spare hook up if you need to hire that. If you're into hiking, the walk to the Dovedale stepping stones isn't too hard through the fields etc, but coming back can be a bit more of a challenge! Takes about an hour and a half to walk there.

J Cripps: Great campsite, located about 15 minute drive to Alton towers. Fantastic views and location. Facilities very clean. Had a brilliant stay with family and friends. Highly recommend the local pub the Dog and partridge ! Brilliant roast dinner!!!Nearby activities: Close to village of Ashbourne, Alton towers and great local pub.

deborah bishop: A scenic and we'll run campsite. Showers and toilets very clean and friendly proprietors and a great dog walking area.Nearby activities: Very close to Dovedale

Bakewell Camping and Caravanning Club Site: what do users think?

MIKE BAVINGTON: In a lovely area and plenty of walking optolions.Good value caravan site

Jennifer Sturges: Beautiful site, very well kept by the friendly staff

Andrew Scolding: Peaceful campsite, with basic amenities. No washroom nor toilet. There are drinking water points, grey water waste disposal points, and one toilet chemical disposal point. 25 min walk to the village of Youlgreave

Stephen hammond: Nice basic site with some great views. Plenty of walking paths straight off the site.Access through the nearby village can be a bit hairy with wider vehicles because of the narrow road and parked cars, but if you're a confident driver there's always room to get through.

rodney sutton: Peaceful camping site. Really great staff. 3 good pubs within 20 minutes walk

Mark Wilson: Excellent campsite with very friendly staff who ate always willing to help.Site has both electric hook up and non hook up pitches. Been twice now and will recommend to anyone. Decent price aswell

Jane Harvey: Lovely quiet site and wonderful views and walks all around friendly staff and 🐕 are most welcome

Ian Crowder: Playground: Very small but tidy

Laurence Conisbee: Beautifully site, extremely well maintained, in a superb location. We had a lovely quiet spot in a corner and stayed for a week. So many places to explore, and some great walking right from the site. This site has little in the way of facilities: no real shop, no toilets, and no showers. You are warned of this when you book and even get a phone call reminder the day before you arrive. So don't say you didn't know 😅. We're guessing the reason for no toilets and showers is because the site is not on mains sewage and would need significant investment to install treatment works to accommodate what is a reasonable sized site. The plus side of course is you get a nice quiet site 😊

John Liversage: Lovely Site, with Great Staff.Bit awkward to get to, as you have to negotiate village streets.Quiet, and beautiful views.Dog-friendliness: Great Doggy play area.Manager has a very friendly Rottweiler

Graham Tracey & little Ted: Nice very well kept campsite, we had beautiful views, great for visiting Bakewell and Matlock

Martin Gray: Restrooms: There aren't any.

Penny Alldridge: A great camping and caravanning club site. No toilet block on site but that's OK and makes it a little bit less busy.Playground: Lovely kids play area and not too near the pitches either.Dog-friendliness: A good dog walk area.

Geraldine Meacham: Staff are extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Beautiful maintained site. With amazing views. Great for walking. On the downside. Omg, the skinny step winding approach lane only enough room for one vehicle going either way. If you're not confident, I'd give it a miss. There is no onside shower or toilet block. But apart from that enjoy.

Irene Christina: Lovely site . Friendly staff.

Alison Brunning: Wonderful site with friendly and helpful staff 😊🌷🌻 everything you need nearby in Youlgrave a pretty village with amities and river walks. X
