Nanna's Yarn Barn: what do users think?

Gillian Hooper: Great service and good prices. I went in when I was on holiday and was made so welcome. There was a lot of help in getting complimentary yarns for a blanket I wanted to do. A lovely independent store that I wish was nearer my home.

margaret ellerker: Brilliant shop & service 👏

Lulu H: Perfect place for woollen baby items ❤I wanted a particular Cardigan I had seen on Instagram, for my baby, but wanted to support local business, so came here to have it made. And it was cheaper at Nannas Yarn Barn.Excellent service, they went out of their way to ensure I was happy with the end result. Chatted to the baby while I was paying, we both came out with a smile on our face and some extra handmade bits they had on their rail that I couldn't resist purchasing. Thank you I'm very happy with my items.

Gill Marsden: This is exactly the sort of wool shop I like. Great selection of wool, and an owner who is friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

Kerry Osborne: Well well well, what can I say,I started looking for need ideas, to keep my fingers busy and too have less screen time, all the staff at Nanna definitely helped sort me out. Before covid restrictions, they set me up with a great ladis Fiona and Hayley, she helped me learn how to start up, never pressured me or rushed me.. worked at my pace. And the rest is history. All through .1, .2, .3 lockdowns they have provided me with everything and more!! Even helpful clicks to learn more!! Thank you so much!! Can't wait to come back and see you all for a chat and knit when aloud! X

Ambassador Our Colchester: Thank you so much for all your help the other weekend. My autistic daughter is new to crochet and you all went above and beyond to help her get what she wanted. Your patience and advice was warmly received. She is enjoying her crochet needles and quality wool. We will definitely be returning and recommending yourselves

Amanda Pope: This is a lovely wool shop really bright and colourful like a breath of fresh air. The staff are always very helpful and welcoming and friendly and very knowledgeable about the yarns they sell. I recommend this shop to everyone who loves knitting and crocheting. Beautiful yarns that are irresistible.

D2D Sussex: Excellent friendly customer service with a great range of the highest quality and affordable yarn and wool.

Julie Willingham-Sadler: Bril bril bril bril bril, thank you sooo much for opening a wool shop I can actually get into on my sticks / crutches. You and your staff are so lovely, helpful and caring. I could spend all day just in the shop talking to you all, looking at yarns n patterns and knitting. Are you going to have a knit n natter group when we are all allowed to socialise again?Thank you sooo much, will be in again for more yarn very soon. Take care and stay safe. Julie. 👩🏻‍ 🌈👍🏻💜

Maxine Neale: I visited NANNA'S on Friday, Oct 16, and took a beginner's class in Crochet ~ what a great experience. All of the NANNA'S staff led by owner Fiona were extremely friendly and helpful. I was settled in with the offer of a 'brew' and then 'TOOLED UP' with the right wool for my starter project. This was very helpful to me as there were so many gorgeous yarns to choose from that I could have easily got caught up with just admiring the colours! Our tutor on the day was Karen Blake. I easily could see why she was chosen by Nanna's as she is a knowledgeable teacher and has the patience of a saint. She keeps her eye on what each student is doing and is quick to help where needed. For my money, I can say that Nanna's is the best little find in Colchester ~ Needless to say that I have booked another session!

Kat Lessing: My favourite place! Nannas are very nice, friendly and willing to help and give advice on your projects. They have also the most beautiful yarn and provide crafty lessons. ❤️

Maryjane Sheils: Well I think it’s great service is goodVery helpful and not expensive

Linda Watts: So unusual to get good service currently but I was pleasantly surprised when I took my sewing machine in for repair to Franklins today. Extremely friendly and helpful member of staff who carried my machine from the car to the store and then diagnosed the problems I was having immediately and put the machine right quickly. Very appreciative.

sandra scott: Very helpful and friendly staff. Not only did I come away with fabulous material but very helpful advice on how to transfer my dress to a pattern. Amazing.

R B: to find my wonderful sewing machine ready to go to work again for me whenever I need it.I still have my overlocker bought from Franklins about 20 years ago, and it still finishes off all my sewing beautifully. If you want to buy a sewing machine or overlocker, then Franklins is a really helpful store, but they do go that extra mile as well, with great customer care whenever it’s needed. Highly recommended.

Christopher Eldred: 10/10 very helpful and friendly

Craig Brooke: Having recently purchased a Brother V3 from Franklin's the partner needed a new sewing machine. George talked us through different options and demonstrated an amazing machine. The Fiancé is very happy. Would highly recommend. Who says old school customer service does not exist? If you need a new machine give Franklin's a look.

Samantha Sherratt: Visited the shop today, after having called yesterday and found they had the exact fabric I needed. I had rather a long shopping list, and the woman who served me was extremely helpful in making sure I got everything I needed and gave me so much useful advice as well.I didn't get her name, sorry! But wanted to say thank you so much for all your help!Have a great selection of fabrics, calicos, needles, loads of different threads, interfacings, and fabrics of course too! Literally everything you need to craft to your heart's content.Thank you again 😊
