Jean Griffin: We went into Cash in Hand in Colchester today to purchase a smart phone. The young man called Taylor and the other young man ( did not know his name) were extremely helpful, friendly and polite. It was a pleasure to be served by them. Em-Elle Kay Gee: A lovely shop with an enormous selection of books in all categories. Very cheap as well (£1-£3.50). Really nice cafe which serves cakes, scones and biscuits. A very friendly environment and a favourite place to visit!

Hannah Gray: My favourite place to come and have a catch up with friends, bring my nephew to read some books or work in the quite. This place has a really lovely atmosphere and they do a lovely coffee with lots of choice of cakes. I’m especially impressed with their choice of vegan and gluten free cakes that always taste amazing!! And I have often found some lovely dresses in here too! What’s not to love?!
Tina: Actually went to the St Helena warehouse which sells furniture and more. Well laid out for social distancing. Unfortunately they don't accept donations on Mondays so I have to go again. Upside though, I bought a nice clean chair for my dressing table.

J K: Where has the previous manager gone, this shop used to be great!? Whoever has taken over has made an absolute mess of things. We visited last week to find a mish-mash of old tat, some clothes are filthy with holes. Where has all the good stuff gone? We've been happily buying from there for years...last week was our last visit!

Jamin Server: DO NOT SHOP HERE! They are happy to take your money and then damage the furniture you bought while they take it apart! Then…. Wait for it…. No we can’t refund! Apparently it’s a homeless charity that works! HA.. okay more like homeless thieves. The so called stock is DIRTY, SMELLS and looks like it’s been picked up from the side of the road. God forbid someone buys an electrical appliance from this so called charity. Charity in their back pocket more like! And yes EMMAUS WORK I’ve been polite leaving this review believe me!(Look forward to your reply if you can even be bothered to do so)

Jim Elliott: Great stuff maybe. They repair and recy le giving homeless people accommodation. Of course you have to visit frequently as stuff comes and goes but great bargains to be found.

One staff member in particular, thought it appropriate to walk round drinking from a can and burping, followed by sitting in one of the chairs sneezing and wiping his nose with his hand and then wiping it down wherever. On our exit we were then treated to another very loud belch. Discusting behaviour!

Robert Harrod: Having arrived to collect the furniture that they had said they would, they rudely, with no thought for our loss, cherry picked the best, destroying a chest of drawers in the process and just leaving behind the remainder.Wouldn't entertain using again, St Helena Hospice will empty my fathers home.
Lauren Duke: Me and my partner ordered a cabinet today it cost £100 and £19.50 for delivery. We live on 4th floor and do have a lift but it doesn't fit in lift but someone called Dave told my partner that they be happy to take it apart in 2 to 3 sections so it all fit in lift. Had 3 delivery men literally came in this morning and said that it will cost us £30 to take it upstairs when we didn't even have extra money, doesn't even say on a receipt about the extra charge. And left it to us it was so heavy so asked one my neibours and him and my partner couldn't fit it round corner of first stairs. Got a drill took bottom bit apart so tried again then it fell all the glass smash and while partner was still holding parts of wood it snapped. Neibour got glass in his hand. Delivery dod come in end but saying that we accused them for breaking it we didnt. I hope to get my whole refund back its discusting!

Jo Guiness: Excellent system of shopify and contacting very helpful staff over Instagram instant message (they also have a telephone number for the home shop) and a friendly and professional service of picking up from the warehouse on Arthur Street. Easy to park up and load away from the busy high street and still so convenient as a town location. Items are so reasonably priced, does the environment and the charity a good turn. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Nathan Powell: Abouslote disgrace. Never ordering again. Must of been mad. Kinda regret giving a star. Cant deliver a white wardrobe upstairs in CO43EH. Without saying about the 30 pound charge just to deliver to first floor. Very rude men too with poor customer service . Got a wardrobe rail instead and I will thank you for the refund of the wardrobe as the deliveryMencouldn't be asked to deliver upstairs. If you want to ever have a wardrobe delivered, perhaps you should think twice of you dont have a ground floor flat . Nathan powell
