Lidl: what do users think?
rimvydas tamosiunas: Super shop
Osama Qaralleh: Excellent location and good parking space!
Helen Myhill: Good size car park. Unfortunately the entrance/ exit of the store had large baskets with a selection of plants for sale, causing a blockage. That a side, there was a good selection of produce. However, no eggs again.
Aku-udo Nwodika: Got what I needed at good rates... ample packing..
Keno K.: Exceptional customer service. Staff at the cash was extremely helpful and excellent in the manner he handled my query. I will go back to the shop just because of him.
Mohsen Mojibifar: Good prices and good range of products
Phil Rokorasei: Not as cheap as it was
Mick Latter: It's a supermarket simple but not nice

A O: Great place to shop, with a wide range of products, very affordable.
David Harrington: Full of poor people

Lidl: what do users think?
Dave Mills: Would give it 5 , this store is clean and staff friendly. The bakery is first class and good priced cakes and fresh bread
Maureen Meekins: My Husband says you can't fault it ,he goes there everyday, can't stop away very convenient for us ,only 5 minutes up the road .
BabyGirl: Good prices, good choices
Sarah Munson: Great value and excellent quality across the range.!!!
Joanna Carr: They may well be less expensive than other supermarkets but you don't get the variety other stores have. I bought a bag of salad leaves there as I was passing. Inedible.
Sioux Jordan: Pleasant, cheap, easy parking.20 April: Seems to be stock issues with some products missing.
Nat Stevens: Lidl clothes are the one
Nira Paudel Upadhayaya: All in one. Cheaper then other store.
Mohsen Mojibifar: Best prices among other supermarkets
Dawn Kelly: Great shop, well stocked not enough cashouts open so queued linger than id like
george bugg: Need self service
A Brooks: Good quality products but as always here, hard to find what you want
Keith Stirling: A lot of empty shelving/chillers, could do with restocking.
Sweety Nursing: Okaish sometimes they do stock up shelves on time a lot of products unavailable.
Faith Pink: My parents went to Lidl today in Abbotts Road cashier told my parents they are not allowed the buy egg product more than two we normally get two 12 eggs but they didn't have any so they wanted to buy 4 small ones (6) in the box and also been very rude to my parent I have contacted the customer service to complain lady over the phone very rude didn't even let me explain cut me off and hang up the phone to my face
John Cox: a lovely shopping experience. I use a mobility scooter.to get about the staff are very helpful and even packed my shopping 🛍 for meWell done lidl.
Julian Rimmer: Great stock at very good prices.
Chris Harris: Staff are always friendly
Adam Warr: No eggs
Tesseract Orion: A generic Lidl store much like any other, with its bizarre (small) selection of Eastern European versions of Western brands, plus some random clothing, electronic gizmos and kitchen devices stuck in between them.Prices aren't particularly great and the haphazard way they are posted can be confusing and annoying. All Customer Service is done through the cashier which means a queue builds up while s/he talks via headset. Opening up another till is seemingly a last option and avoided if at all possible. There are no self-service tills.Edit: Last few month the stock situation has been quite poor, lots of empty space on the shelves.
Lawrence Richardson: Friendly helpful staff. Great pastries. Always friendly and accepting towards my assistance dog.

Lidl: what do users think?
Amalia Anitei: I used to work there. Awful environment. I used to work in another area in Lidl and that Lidl was absolutely amazing. is how I’ve been transferred from there to colchester one actually. When I got in Colchester to work for Lidl I haven’t been welcomed, everyone was rude and had an eye on me because I was “the new one” instead of helping someone and being nice and polite they chose to be rude. Everyone was on their phone when they was on the till and didn’t pay attention to the customers. Working like robots not communicating with the costumers which is absolutely horrible. I know you don’t need to communicate with everyone but some of people they really love having a little chat with them. I resigned as the managers was absolutely rude. And then I got “fired” when I already resigned and I told them I’m not going back over phone. One of the manager was aggressive by punching on the desk when I told ( not going to mention the gender) is not nice interrupting someone when you talk and the big cheese was next to us not saying nothing took the person side and made me feel like it was my fault. Super! They just cover each other so much. And another thing happened well happened a lot but is not point saying everything here.It was a customer and I was on the till. One of the manager came with the fob to take off some products as the customer haven’t got enough money for the products and the manager started to roll ( not going to mention the gender) eye and made the customer to cry. I tried to explain to the customer that it has happened even to me and is a normal thing sometimes we don’t look in our bank accounts to check the money. Happens to everyone! Is good they only pretend they’re nice only when other managers are coming to inspect the store. WELL DONE COLCHESTER LIDL KEEP IT LIKE THIS. ☺️
Ric: Typical supermarket, had everything we wanted, plenty of parking.
Steve Doubleday: Dreadful, store is very dirty. No bags again for the fresh bakery stuff. Lots of empty shelves and cardboard. Till.was shocking with 1 member of staff standing chatting to another member of staff eating a bag of crisps. Call me.old.fasioned but I do like a please and thank you. Won't bother going here again. Aldi up the road.
Alex Hogg: Not enough staff. Only one checkout open.
Richard “Tricky” Carder: Large car park and plenty of trolleys. Great home-name brands at mind-blowing prices. I'm always surprised at how much I can save by shopping in this place. Currently stocking garden products and Easter eggs March 2023.
Colin Ellis: Cool place
Paul Brooker: Lidl tends to play second fiddle to Aldi in the UK. In my view I prefer it. The bakery section is amazing. Fresh pastries, doughnuts, cookies and bread and the best crusty white rolls in the country. Also their potato salad is amazing, although the tubs have halved in size this year while the price remains the same.
David Widlake: Great small supermarket (small compared to Tesco in Highwoods or the nearby giant Sainsbury's - it's a good size). Freshly baked bread and cakes next to the entrance and all the departments you'd expect to find. Very good prices for such good quality produce. The German made stollen and gingerbread at Christmas is hard to beat.
David Barr: Great deals & food
Nat Stevens: Wish abbot's Road had self service too
Slavomir Kundrik: Good choice of every day essentials with great prices and convenient opening hours. You've got to love the in-store bakery though.
Chris kyan: Another great Lidl. All good ... Check the center aisle
Elizabeth James: Lidl is ok. If your looking for cheep no brands. Fruit doesn't stay fresh for long.
Davinia Summers: I only use lid to get milk and bread brought their fruit once and within two days it wasmouldy
Konrad Bielecki: Pusto na pułkach wieczorami jak za PRL-u. To za czasu "pandemii" .Teraz nowy event - "food shortages".Lubię ten sklep bo nie mam lepszego w okolicy.
Patricia Robinson: Great store but lack of checkout staff means I I don't shop there very often.
B “Pearl” W: So long queues
Doodee Nesbitt: Fruit hit and miss but pastries awesome
Ritchie Hicks: Only one self service till taking cash and only one manned till open. And this is progress?
Darryl Bannister: Good pricing and a big selection
WOLVES Smith: EXCELLENT

Sainsbury's: what do users think?
Hairy Haggis: Great friendly cheery staff. Always helpful. Store has been revamped and haz all essentials needed to pick up on way home.
Hisham Nizam: Not many deals available like Tesco and Aldi.... Less vegetables and fruits.
teresa moules: Lovely store,so clean, well lit. Everything you could need and very friendly staff
Brian Hawkins: Grocery shopping in the town center is limited. While not a big store, it is good for small shops like picking up a few items for dinner. I'm glad it's there.
Michael Tuckwell: Always get my groceries from Sainsbury's as the quality and prices are very good.
John Williams: Now revamped. Handy town centre supermarket for everyday needs.
Paul Reideman: A great place to shop
Real Soz: I'm only really giving this 5 Stars because I want the town centre not to die. I don't much like how it's all just self service tills now but it's hardly a surprise, they're all doing it. And supermarkets are not, and have never been, the answer to sustainability, but, as it stands, people need as many reasons to come to town as possible, so I guess this is a reason. It's the only proper supermarket in the middle of town, so it would be a shame to lose it. If stane park closed down I would not mourn it AT ALL.
Paul White: Only 3 tills with humans after the refurb. They want you to use self service tills while staff stand around chating.
Andrew R: Good new little Refurb. Starbucks is a plus, only a little machine but still a nice extra. Good selection of items. No hot deli, but fresh bread ect.
Elizabeth James: Sainsburys is not as good as it used to be. Got a lot of new staff.not so helpful. Got expensive. Store manager is rubbish doesn't care about her staff. Staff are so unhappy. I wont go in there till that manger has left.
daniel bostiog: Foarte bun magazin si produse bune
Lee: Stalked by security everytime I pop into this store. Really makes you feel unwelcomed. Have a word as I notice it's not the first time he has been mention in these reviews.
medic7698: I quite like the refurbished Sainsbury's although, to be fair, little has changed considering the amount of time it was closed.
Paul Hainesborough: Love Sainsbury's
Allison Young: Will be better when completed.
Christopher Blomeley: Good range
Angela Clitherow: Went into this Sainsbury’s today my 3year old son was suddenly desperate for the toilet I asked one of the lady’s that works there (didn’t get her name) I asked if my son could use there staff toilet she replied with a no there’s public toilets all around town I continued to say he’s not going to make it. She shrugged her shoulders so I had to leave my basket of shopping on the floor to go a find a public toilet but my son wet his pants by the time we got out the store. An my poor boy had to walk home with wet pants bless him. I personally think that a child under a certain age should be able to use staff toilets as they can’t hold as well as adults. Very sad that what would have been a 2min toilet use turned into this an in the end I didn’t manage to get any shopping done. I hope the manager reads this an changes his policy on young toddlers and using the toilet
Brian Porter: Friendly staff and quality products
Sweety Nursing: Do not have much variety it's okaish for mundane shopping. Not my favourite.
Tony Smeeton: Great 👍

I don't understand the app because even though I always scan it, my points are still at zero, so probably not worth using.
Lucy Asker: After a failed delivery attempt, an incredible employee called Safiul (hope I’ve spelt his name correctly) personally delivered my shopping in his own car. After completing his own shift!! I’ve worked in retail many years & never experienced anyone go above & beyond like this man did for me & my children this evening!!! 10/10!!!! Colchester Turner Rise store.
Christine Killick: Very busy which is expected at this time of year
