James: If this isn't the worst surgery in Colchester then it's definitely in the top 3! They don't do appointments in advance. They tell you to ring at 8 if you want an appointment but there's about a 5 second window before your position 1 billion in the queue, by the time you get through there's no appointments left. Then you have to call next day and go through it all again. Even if you tell them you have cancer or you've slit your wrist, they will still tell you to ring at 8 and won't book you in advance.Rude reception staff, It's as if they take out their life's problems on patients. They need to look in the mirror and ask themselves 'am I worthy of a customer facing role'.You'll need Google translate if you are lucky enough to see a doctor. The foreign doctors get annoyed if you ask them to repeat themselves when you can't understand what they say.Going to switch surgeries because this is a joke
Lewis Rushforth: Terrible! I work at a life insurance brokers, and one of our clients applied for some life cover on his residential mortgage. Due to the amount of cover they would be having, the provider requested his GP report back in December 2022. It is now the 20th of March 2023 and the doctors surgery still have not completed this! He currently has no cover on his mortgage. They have lied multiple times, saying they have completed it and sent it back, when they never did. The staff on reception were very unhelpful and could not care less about our clients situation.
robert cullum: Terrible. Horrible, Unhelpful and un-sympathetic staff make getting any kind of appointment an uphill struggle.
Kyle Mason: Never able to get through. 150 times I have called previously so gave up. Not very friendly when you get in there either
Yang Wang: I call the earliest We could do at 8.00am, at 8.00am the machine told me no appointment for today!
P Bennett: Impossible to get hold of and totally inflexible.
B R Spiewak: Always friendly and helpful staff.
Neil Rogers: Absolute joke. I've been trying for weeks to book an appointment only to get fobbed off and when you phone they hang up on you. Disgraceful.
Rachel Smith: Mark saw my little boy the other day and he was wonderful. Spoke to my little one with respect and empathy (he’s only 4) and explained to me what what going on etc
Jac: Absolutely shocking! Impossible to get an appointment, you have a 5 minute window at 8am, but at 1 second past eight you are 60th in the queue and 2 hours later once you get through, there's no appointments left. and you just get shouted at by a person who doesnt speak english or understand what you want. 8 days in a row now, totally hopeless. In so much pain I'm tempted to just end it at this point and leave a nice letter telling everyone exactly who's fault it is. Yep, Creffield medical center.
Shereen Whiten (Winter77): the worst Surgery ever! Rude reception staff (loud, lacking knowledge of their job (as i have received wrong advice before from them) and very unprofessional in dealing with clients) no way of booking appointments ahead apart from calling at 8 am for appointments in the same day..and usuall all appointments are taken by that time...blaming Covid is not an excuse for such unprofessional approach.. my husband was waiting for a referral that a request has been sent on 5 october but i have discovered after 25 days from the request that the surgery has not done its job as usual!! if we are paying the government for such NHS service, i prefer to go private instead of dealing with such ***** ! also i forgot to say that when you call asking for an appointment, we will get interegotated with the nosy rude receptionist about the problem as if she is a doctor herself! I asked for an appointment with the doctor and he/she can decide later what shall i do!!
hjc O'connaglaigh: rude and dismissive member of staff on reception..now in my eighties visited my calvary road surgery exact time14 25pm 10/oct/2022 .signed in number and car details .I was somewhat unsure if the screen had registered the car details so i asked a member of the staff if she would be good enough to check i had actually registered. .remember the time was exactly 14.25.pm 10/oct .2022 ..the person i asked was a lady in a blue nurse overall who had stepped out of the reception office area approx 5 ft of light build. To my shock horror she said dont you realise we now have 4,000 patients registered here and i have not got time to deal with you she was offensive and rude to such an extent i have never encountered such abuse ever at this normally wonderful surgery . I told her i would need to activate a formal complaint through the practices procedures as her actions and manner were intolerable . I then gave her my full name and title so that she clearly would know i was the complainant . i then asked her for her name and title she scoffed and said i dont give my name to anyone so i said thats fine then just let me have an identifiable reference number for you as i need to log those details on my complaint . again she scoffed and refused to give me any of her details as clearly she did not want to be identified . however from these exact date times and details i have given the surgery will be able to identify exactly who this person is as she was adamant she was going to ensure i never had any details to enable me to pursue this complaint about her behaviour . i am disgusted by this whole affair as i think it is paramount to treat ALL staff in a respectful and polite manner . however i expect others to reciprocate as i have always done so. all staff should always be identifiable just as patients are I have been a patient at this creffield road surgery for seventy years since the age of 11 and have never encountered such abuse .so i do speak from experience
K L: Just useless. Wait for ages on hold to book an appointment just to be told a doctor wouldn't look at what I described (they would) and to go to a chemist. Pointless.
Ssp Snx: Craggy island for doctors...They misdiagnosed me with osteoarthritis (I had to argue with them to get them to see that it was highly unlikely in a 37 year-old) and when I went in with a torn quadricep they told me to walk it off. It took me 8 weeks of not recovering for me to work out what was wrong by which time it was too late to have surgery to fix it.They don't even know how to fill out forms; I once got referred to the hospital and the doctor wrote the "reason for referral" on the form as "diagnosis" - so when I got there the hospital had no idea what I was there for!I recommend you go somewhere else or, if you cannot, challenge any diagnosis that does not feel right to you. Do not take them on face value and if you are still in doubt - get a second opinion.
Billy Walton: Terrible. You can never get an appointment. I just called at exactly 8am and was told by a computer to call back later.
Another Fox: A friendly and well organized centre! I always enjoy visiting this interesting environment 😊
Vince Clarke: well there useless . I've tried all 3 surgeries now all I can say is I wish my heart attack killed me .
Jack Vasey: Very rude and aggressive staff on the phones, send documents to old addresses fail to take notes, male staff lying about being managers. All in all glad I'll be moving practice soon. Been with them since 1990 and has declined so much in the last few years. Since leaving layer road.
Denise Stevens: This surgery is amazing I called today about an enquiry that affected another family member and when I called I got Sue on reception, I told her my problem and she went above and beyond, initially she couldn't help me with my query but directed me to the source. While on the phone my landlines went and it was Sue informing me she had found the solution and I could pick up a copy. I cannot thank Sue enough and the front desk receptionists.
SuperPixiefun: Slightly unusual surgery in that the administrative and support staff I’ve found very friendly and helpful. The paramedics are great. The surgery is obviously oversubscribed. You can call at 8am and be caller number 50 or often not even get in the queue at all, it just tells you to try again some other time, which really works when you’re ill. But the main problem is the actual doctors. One or two very good ones, for which I’m grateful, but, particularly recently, I’ve not been impressed - partly, by bedside manners. Not particularly friendly, constantly interrupt which gets stressful when you’re trying to be economic with information as it is, and just a lack of interest in assisting you. Sure, fine, we all have had bad days, we know how stressful the last few years have been for medical staff and I’m very respectful of what they do. But one didn’t even check for medicine contraindications, which could have been disastrous for me had I not, on instinct, double checked myself and not taken the prescription. Perhaps I was just spoiled by my previous surgery being excellent.
Rachel Ambrose: Edit: they are still bad. Ques of 50 people on the phones sometimes, and then of course no appointments. Paramedics are then called in and misdiagnose you. Can't move pre booked appointments and say you're abusive when you sob after being on hold so often. Awful.Rude receptionist, waited 30 minutes to be told I needed to fill in a form in person for a prescription repeat. Refused to help despite it being a pandemic. Why can't they just do it over the phone? They often mess up the prescription too, and my pharmacy roll their eyes when I mention the surgeries name because they are so sick of their incompetence.

Laimute Taylor: Leaving a review as don't feel that this surgery deserves the low rating that it has. We've had no problems whatsoever, the staff, GPs, nurses and receptionists are always polite, friendly and most importantly helpful. If you come in before 10am, you're guaranteed to get an appointment which not all surgeries offer. Our experience is that they provide nothing but outstanding service!
Mellowsounds Entertainment: Not so good anymoreI have issues with my phone numbers and it's their end and they won't take responsibilityWhen they call me they can hear me but I am unable to hear them and this is my phone and my wife's phone because her phone has been put on to my profile so that proves to me it's not my end. What can I do about this? NothingThis is not my provider. There is a blip in the surgery systemAnd they won't take any responsibility or even tryThis has put my health at risk. I've taken drastic action to get a landline installedWhen all I had to do was take my numbers down and refresh the account. But no it's my fault. So it's cost me a lot of money to buy new phones and to get a landline installed just because I'm not believed.I'm being reduced of medication. I've had not one call regarding this. Not even a text or a message on my phone's which works. It seems all the best doctors have gone and now we have to mix our GPs who doesn't look at your previous notes and you have to go through it all againIn fact, a lot of my medical history has gone missingI just wished I could find a surgery that would treat you like a human being rather than a number. And I'm not just saying parsons heath. It could be many of the surgeries around ColchesterThey are all joined togetherThey certainly don't make anything easyThe reception said we get thousands of calls and it's never happened before.Well, don't they realize that I also get a lot of incoming calls and it's never happened before. That works both waysNot in the doctor's favor. It's just not fair and I need to be heard if I'm out and about. I can't receive calls from them as they need to get the IT to have a look at it
Vanessa Bull: What can I say? I wouldn’t even give them one star ,the receptionist that is for sure ,yeah diabolical no help. Don’t care. If you’re in pain. They have no time for patience whatsoever. Awful practice.
Tufael Kalam: Disgraceful, get a call to go for a Physio appointment and no ones opening the door. Waited around for 20 mins, shambolic!!
straxil angelov: very bad service from someone I can't even call him doctor MONAMED, it seems that the person is a racist; he had no desire to help me diabetic; asthmatic; high blood pressure; cholesterol myself I don't know who gave him the diploma; because he himself is Bulgarian by his name, judge what is he, because of him I changed mine surgery
Tracy Offord: I’ve allways found the staff so friendly and helpful best dr I’ve been too
Kimberley Purll: Totally inept. On 3 seperate occasions therude ,disinterested, sarcastic, unapologetic, flippant, untruthful , void of emotion , dull personality receptionists (always thought the receptionists role was to be none of the above ) have been unable to remember which pharmacy VITAL MEDICATION for an ASTHMATIC , COPD suffering pensioner was sent to.No sorry i have got that part wrong . They didnt forget , just advised myself and other staff that it had been sent to one place then another then another , having care staff running round here there and everywhere . No apology for wasting valuable care time or putting someone at a heightened risk. No. Just god dam attitude. Telling me after visiting a place twice in 1 hr. " no it is there." When it clearly isnt . Then giving attitude cos you dare to ask again. " where have you sent the meds" once ok hut 3 times. Some meds go to 1 pharmacy then they think its ok to send some to somewhere else and notvfeel the need to notify you . This is a highly vulnerable persons meds and they are very aware of this. Shocking, disgraceful, unbelievably inadequate service. I cant think who agitates me more, Politicians or jumped up Doctor Receptionists. Doctors coming in a close third, not the proffesion just their cotton wool attitude. Also when you question them on their mistakes the usual reply is are you shouting. Shoddy.
Michael Harbrow: No appointments even when the doctor has asked you to book one. Very unhelpful receptionist staff refusing to budge. Power hungry games more like. Disgrace.
katie browning: I wouldn't even want to leave one star. I am disgusted with how the surgery staff have treated my partner and also the doctor. Speaking rude and abrupt. In front of my 9 year old son.Seeing him in a waiting room instead of in the room.. In front other other people. (not heard of patient confidentiality)Not even checking properly and actually asking him what else is going onRefusing to see him as he wasn't wearing a face mask.. Trying to make him prove he is excempt. When In fact you no longer need to wear one.Shocking parsons heath surgery.Lets hope the manger is around to speak to as a huge complaint will now be submitted.Neglecting a patient.
Abbie Craker: The worst doctor surgery ever. I take sertraline and I get really bad with my mental health when i’m not taking it, i ran out and phoned the doctor to order more. they told me it needs a review and said to ring the doctor to book an appointment. i ring them and they tell me they have no appointments for a month. then i go to the surgery tell them i haven’t had any medication for a week and they have the decency to tell me they can’t do anything about it? what kind of sick joke is this place? i’ve had to be in and out of hospital because i haven’t had any meds but this surgery have ZERO empathy. absolutely disgusted.
dana maria: The worst gp ever. They never have available spaces, even on the phone. But if you call 111 they can make time to call you back. They refuse to see my child today...really disapointed
neety shroff: If your doctor calls and it gets missed. the doctor to call back again than the patient trying to call and is waiting in queue for one hour ? To get through. Because you know your lines are always busy. What you loose to ask your doctor to call again ? And when I get through after an hours wait the doctor is not available. I respect NHS but do you respect us ?
Alex McConnachie: I had a long wait in the upstairs waiting room, the Doctor(Beth Maclean) was very apologetic and dealt with my problem with alacrity and discretion.
T J Beynon: I think it is fantastic that you offer Sunday appointments for asthma reviews. That was so convenient for me. The nurse I saw was called Carrie and she was so kind and warm to me. The receptionist was at first quiet but then when I was chatty she was lovely. I think staff in this surgery are under rated. They get so much grief from rude demanding people they must dread people coming through the door. They aren’t paid lots in the nhs as we all know and they should be valued and spoken to nicely. Thank you Carrie and thank you lovely receptionist for working on an Sunday ❤️
Lisa Bennett: Apart from sometimes having a wait for the phone to be answered, i have always found the surgery to be helpful. I don't write many reviews but i don't believe this surgery deserves the low score it has. They are now open to face 2 face meetings, unlike a lot of surgeries around Colchester.
Theresa Whybrow: I'm on my fourth attempt to get a prescription done, rude and unhelpful reception staff, accused me of not putting my request in and then said I was rude because I got annoyed. If anyone knows of a decent Doctor in Colchester taking on new patients please let me know. If you are considering joining this practice, don't!
H Say: Spoken to a really lovely, understanding new GP there. But I really think in general, it's important to review attitudes towards those who might disagree with plying kids with steroid creams for skin complaints. I was made to feel like I was keeping my daughter in agony and a bad parent because I kept arguing that creams and ointments were making her eczema worse. In the end, I complied, much to my regret, because now I understand topical steroid addiction and withdrawal. Please do not dismiss how common and dangerous topical steroids are, and support us parents who are living with the nightmare that eczema can cause.
Alan Greenley: very disappointed, with the care, and treatment, my wife received, by being diagnose, over a phone, wrong treatment, doctors, did not want to know, had to go to walk in center, see a doctor ,face to face, who told her she had a bad chest infection, now on strong antibiotics, to clear it, how come you can see a doctor in the walk in centre, face to face , but you cant at parsons heath, ? start doing your jobs right, and see patient,s face to face,
Sophie Parker: The rudest receptionist I have ever come across
Ameena Hussain: The staff are very nice here but they really need to improve the service of this surgery. If you are two min late they will cancel your appointment and at other times they make you wait more than 30min when you already have a booked appointment. Very disappointing. They have no consideration that patients have other plans, responsibilities and work too. Waiting 10-15min is fine, but more than 30min is taking the mick! Not only that when you call bang on 8am the line is already busy. I called over 200 times from 8am to 9am and the line was still busy! I'm sure the staff deliberately keep line busy so patients don't call before 10am!!!
Sue Johnston: I've been very lucky with Drs over the years, rarely had any problems. I don't write reviews, but when I was about to go on the surgery website and I noticed the poor reviews left, I felt absolutely compelled to redress the balance. My experience here for several years has been significantly better then any of the other surgeries I've attended, although they were plenty good enough. I have found nurses, doctors and reception staff friendly, helpful, full of compassion, and more than willing to go the extra mile, time after time. Their attention has been very thorough. I have nothing but immense gratitude for the service they provide.

Cherryl Arnold: Surgeries don't get better than this. From registration to same day face-to-face consultation, I was treated with warmth and compassion by both my doctor and receptionist. Such a beautiful environment, clean and so efficient. You certainly deserve your 5 stars. Thank you
Daniela Calota: I am humbly grateful, I have been refused and rejected since 2020 after covid, I had tears in my eyes to see they truly cared for the patients, they showed me humanity still exist in a new world full of barbaric deeds. Thank you from all my heart for the care given today, Thank you for caring for all your patients 3
Angela Shaw: Difficult to get through to, some curt, rude and unhelpful doctors, impossible to see the same one for any continuity with chronic conditions.Yet this is a review simply for the nurse Gemma Pennell who I would easily give 5 stars for. She goes above and beyond, kind, has really helped me above her role, and just a brilliant person. If you need to see a nurse I highly recommend her. I wish I could thank her enough directly but hopefully this gets passed onto her. It's rare to meet people who genuinely care and it saddens me I didn't get to tell her I had another episode the other day because she was so reassuring. I'm glad to have met her and she has reinstated a belief that there are people who truly care out there. I instantly felt comfortable and able to be open with her. I just hope she knows she has made a real difference to me. So thank you Gemma.
Owen de'ath: It's a Doctor's surgery!!!
mick mcphee: Lovely staff Very helpful and kind normally have laugh. I thank for what they do.
David Ralph: Cannot praise the surgery highly enough. Same day face to face and follow up appointment with doctor and friendly and helpful staff.
Gary Pinfold: Very good staff very helpful 👍
Andrew Lugg: Just been for first COVID injection. So well run and organised. I was so impressed. Can’t thank-you all all enough. Sister Jackie was brilliant with the injection.
Kavs: I wish I could give five stars. Face to face, doctors and receptionists are professional, and effective. One star lost as there is a telephone queuing system. I ran out of credit before I could speak to someone. Second star lost as surgery requires a signed letter, or that the patient attends the surgery before a repeat prescription can be issued. Wrong on so many levels. In fact, it just lost another star.
Chris (Huckleberry): I’m new to the area and new to the surgery. I’ve put off going to the doctors in general for a while as I’ve not had great experiences in the past with the medical profession in general and have been left at times feeling unsatisfied with the outcome despite feeling quite poorly with no further investigation being offered. Ive been badgered for months to go to a doctor by family and friends but felt it was a waste of time going to the doctor. Today however with more worrying symptoms I couldn’t leave it any longer and rang the surgery. I was offered an appointment straight away for this morning. On arrival I I met with friendly reception staff and then waited in a relaxed, quiet, clean waiting area for my name and room number to appear on a screen on the wall. I was early so I expected the wait. A couple of minutes after my appointment time my name appeared. I was greeted pleasantly by a very amiable doctor. Despite my ramblings (I was used to being rushed in the past, so felt I had to get things out quickly) I felt I have not only been listened too but have been asked intelligent questions, treated with intelligence and although I was with the doctor for more than my allocated time (sorry to those waiting to be seen) he was very thorough and wasn’t going to be rushed. I have been offered a further appointment made by the doctor before I left to see him again as a follow up. I’m looking forward to starting to feel better at long last with the medication I have been prescribed which could quite honestly save my life in the long run. Left for a bit longer I may not have been able to write this review. Thank you all
Richard Hewes: It's ok
Yvonne White: I have to give the surgery and all the amazing staff 5 stars. I have been SO well looked after and been shown such genuine care over a recent health issue. I cannot thank the staff or recommend this surgery enough.
Jim Kay: I am very dissatified and disgusted with the service and care offered by this surgery. When one rings the surgery you get a different story every time.It seems that the receptionists do not know what is going on.I have been trying to get a home visit for the flu jab and been promised twice that somebody would come and do it, as I am disabled. I am still waiting and I am at risk. This home visit had been arranged by the practice manager for my doctor to come and give it to me after Morning surgery but because my friend was coming to pick me up for Respite care, the doctor deemed it fit for her to bring me to the surgery. This is regardless of the fact that she has driven 100 miles to come down. She is not my carer as the doctor is well aware of and it is a kindness on her part to come and collect me.I was told by the receptionist after 2 phone calls that Dr Milne had said that my friend was to bring me to the surgery, as the doctor was already on his rounds. Yet if I had gone there straight away , he, Dr Milne would give me that flu jab. It figures that he was in fact at the surgery and not on his rounds as I was told.My dog would get better treatment at the vets!
