Lisette Skeet: Care for a very small child when it was urgently needed was fast, respectful and appropriate. What a relief, no arguments, no rejection. Completely different from all the hurdles and hoops associated with GP surgeries where receptionists fiercely try to deflect patients, if you can even get a response in the first place.

Bonnie Roberts: From start to finish a very positive experience. Husband admitted to A&E following a collapse. He was treated with dignity, respect and kindness at all times. The staff were so busy. Then admitted to a care of the elderly ward despite him being 52 as it was the only bed available. The staff on Peldon ward were without exception Kind, compassionate, cheerful and professional. They are hardworking and a credit to the NHS. He could not have received better care had he been in a private hospital and we are both very grateful to everyone involved in his care. Thank you

David: Colchester hospital wanted to wait and see and do nothing to fix severely broken misshaped hand. So I went to broomfield hospital who said it was obvious I needed surgery, the next day I had surgery and all fixed. I would never go to Colchester hospital again they caused me weeks of unnecessary pain and anxiety because of incompetence and trying to save money.

E E: You can see why more people die on weekends in hospital. On my last stay a lady with MS choked and Vomited, and they didn't clean the vomit up for over 24 hours. She slept in it. Disgusting conditions sometimes. The Monday staff came in with a totally different attitude, cleaning everything. They don't help elderly patients call their families, I had to help a lady call her son because they wouldn't call him themselves or help her find a phone for freethey wanted to charge her. Make sure your family or loved one staying has food, as often wards force everyone awake at 6am but you don't eat til 8am. (It's NOT. Hotel but when elderly cry with hunger its very depressing). Half the misery is because you're just hungry and staring at a blank wall.

Fay Bee: Dr Kumani tried to discharge me during my assessment (without a single ounce of support) she didn’t know a single thing about my history and that I had overdosed only 8 months ago. I pushed my courage enough to tell her she was triggering me and she said things like, you need to not care what people think, and know this is rooted in your parents upbringing and do your own work in trying to get better. Dr Kumani I pray you get the karma that you deserve. God bless your soul, you need it. You are incredibly unfit for the job that you have, you are very uneducated and you are absolutely pathetic.

Jasmine Avent: Not turning up to arranaged appointments not setting up anything they say not going through with follow up calls they say they will. When ask to speak to manager to complain about this and try to find out when I can get a worker instead of just duty the manager just never bothered to get in contact. For a place who is meant to help they do the complete opposite and couldn't make people feel any worse.
stevie 'Bashstardo' Partreegio: I couldn't agree more with the last few reviews. After more than two years and just one diagnosis, no further contact, no care worker as promised!! Don't waste your time expecting any help from these people!! Go back to your GP, he has to provide you with alternative help. I don't recommend colchester general crisis team either.If you have a serious problem like eupd or ptsd or other personality disorder or are severely depressed you need a professional which these people at S.M.H.T. / epunct are not.Mindfulness, meditation, councilling and self help guidance via NHS or even YouTube, Google etc is going to be more helpful than the lack of support, care, empathy etc with this diabolical service which should be reported to some kind of ombudsmen or governing body to see whether their upholding their duty of care with so many people/'patients' evident suffering and facing daily challenges with their 'mental health' and wellbeing.

Most duty workers do not care, or ring back when requested.Impossible to see a Dr, or to be allocated a care coordinator.On a positive note, the reception staff have more care and compassion than what the qualified staff have.I realise that teams are under pressure and short staffed, but a kind few words go a long way. Isn’t this the least a “ specialist mental health team” should do? Clearly not!
David Carley: These people are absolute jokes! Only way to get anything done is if your literally shouting down the phone at them. Its impossible to speak to a doctor. Only the "Duty Team" and they only seem to be limited to what they can do. Only to keep referring you to these groups. My mental health is that severe, they give me the impression they don't really care. I've been waiting for a care coordinator for about two years now and when I ask them when I will get one, they don't really seem to know either and blame it all on Covid-19If i can give a zero star, I would!!
James Martin: Absolutely awful place will not take responsibility for my care no care plan no meds no care coordinator ,only got offered group therapy, and for someone with social anxiety and emotionally unstable personality disorder that is a bad idea I can barely leave me house let alone sit in group therapy.04jan now and I've been waiting since before Xmas for a call back for medication and nothing , crisis team won't help because it's down to Herrick house! And they won't help until I've had a med review which I have no idea when that will be , it's like they want me to go back to self harming, these people are supposed to be specialist's ha joke they don't help anyone in need !

Pat Scofield: Meeting Dr Hartnell was most supportive at a time of great anxiety for me. He has a calm and very reassuring manner and did not hurry our consultation. He later sent a letter to me and my GP covering all the points that we discussed which was extremely helpful.I would certainly see him again if it ever became necessary and would recommend him to anybody.

D Sk: in this place support workers and nurses receive 0 recognition even though they work to the bone. Management take all the credit for any success of the hospital. Management also make poor decisions, putting ward managers on wards that they have no experience with. Quite honestly I wouldn’t recommend working here.

Ruth Banham: PLEASE I IMPLORE YOU, IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY WHO NEEDS ANY MENTAL HEALTH HELP DO NO T USE CYGNET. Serious complaints made due to the critically bad duty of care that is actually bordering the side of mentally abusing patients from not just how they are spoken to but even refusing prescribed medication putting my partners welfare at serious risk. He needed help after being the victim of a vicious assault in his own home, he was hit 3x with a deadly weapon in the head, yet how he has been treated by the Cygnet staff on the ward is sickening. Complaints have been made with managers, the quality care commission & Essex police due to the severity of the safeguarding issues. I have witnessed dogs in the pound be treated with more compassion. £5k per week, per person & that is how they get treated. Profit before patients
Angela Smith: My son arrived today 31/12/2001, the journey took just over 5hrs, on arrival at 14.30 he was put in isolation which is for 48hrs, all his items were taken away from him without being told, the staff check on him 5 times per hr as they walk past they look through the window in the door, no medical notes have been handed over correctly , so the medication he is taking was not given it took several calls late at night to get him is correct meds, no Doctors in the hospital due to new years eve, so we have been told , it makes me wonder if any of the staff are qualified enough to take care of these patients? , I will be getting in touch with head office heads are going to rule, some staff havnt got a clue what they are doing, I suggest they are not professionals, but I will take this complaint to the top, absolutely disgrace this so called hospital.
Melissa Bellchamber: Much like a previous review, if I could give this place 0 stars then I would. A very close family member of mine agreed to an informal admission into hospital during a very distressing time and unfortunately the only bed available was at this hospital. Upon arrival, my family member was understandably anxious and nervous, having never been in a psychiatric hospital before. We as a family, all separately drove up to the hospital so he was supported, not once did any member of staff come and speak to us about what was happening or offer any support or reassurance, and there were no phone calls from then on. I myself am a mental health social worker and have worked in numerous mental health hospitals and services, and so I know what good care looks like and it certainly was not happening here. My family member was told things that clearly could not be maintained, such as seeing a doctor the next day. He was also very much treated like he had been sectioned throughout his stay. His care plan had someone else's name on it, clearly copied and pasted. The consultant on his ward was either inexperienced or just doing anything he can to cover his back. He made the discharge process unnecessarily difficult and distressing for everyone involved. Fortunately, when independent professionals came to assess him, they saw that he could come home. The support staff at this hospital were mostly brilliant, and judging by the reviews on indeed.com by the staff, they are not supported in the slightest. This place needs to either have a completely new management team who actually use a person centered approach (including carers/family) or to be closed down completely, considering their CQC rating is 'inadequate'. This hospital made an already difficult period even more distressing.

Katharine Malone: As an extremely nervous patient, I can't praise this dental surgery enough. From the kind receptionists through to my retained root surgical extractions, they have been fab. Dr akeel and his nurse were amazing, my whole body was shaking from the nerves but they put me at ease, taking time over the injections so I hardly felt much, and holding my hand throughout. The skill of Dr akeel meant that the whole process was over in half an hour, I was thoroughly impressed and felt very at ease
Andy Robinson: Revisited for more repair work following on from a successful root canal. Had the good fortune of being placed back with Antonia and Franciska again. Professional through and through and give attention to every detail; they make a great team and I am very happy with the outcome.
Jon Hudd: I recently had an implant following a cracked tooth and I was extremely impressed by each part of the process. Not only do they have the latest and best technology but also have the best team of people I have come across in a long time.There was one particular person that stood out, Franciska Veldhuizen (Fran). I am not sure I have ever met someone so caring. Her attention to detail for putting the patient first is unrivalled and would be a perfect fit for anyone scared of going to the dentist.Thank you all for making what could have been a very unpleasant experience, a joy.
colin everett: *** OUTSTANDING ***I was referred to Colchester Dental Specialists by my local dentist after I challenged why I needed to have an old root canal filled tooth extracted - CDS Team immediately identified that the problem was actually an adjacent tooth with an old filling and suspected crack - Tiago Pimentel and Gurwinder Dhesi were 100% spot-on Gurwinder Dhesi removed the old filling and took a picture showing me the big crack underneath then filled and crowned. So not only have I saved a tooth that wasn't a problem the actual root cause has been fixed!!!! I am so impressed by the professionalism / knowledge / state-of-the-art equipment / painless treatment / friendliness / troubleshoot and diagnostic skills / that Gurwinder Dhesi and Team are now treating all old filling as preventative actionAs a long-standing cloud technology architect and engineer who has to face nuanced and difficult to identify problems I am absolutely blown away by the outstanding skills of CDS Team with special call out to Gurwinder Dhesi, Tiago Pimentel their dental nurses and the amazing receptionists - WHAT A TEAM!
Linda Clifton: I have been attending for years now, I cannot speak highly enough of everyone I see. TC, Niketa, and Fiona, they have enabled me to 'keep my own teeth'. Recently my daughter has needed help and has seen Gurwinder and again we cannot speak highly enough of him. ALL the staff from the minute you walk into the reception area are friendly and so helpful. She was very reassuring.I saw Dr Akeel and his nurse Lucy, from the start Lucy was very friendly and reassuring. Dr Akeel was so very patient with me, went at my pace and didn't rush and make me feel bad.I went back for treatment under sedation and the whole process was a breeze.I wish more dentists were as kind and caring, understanding and patient, as this dental practice are.Thank you so much, Hayley x

Jay Patel was recommended to me by the receptionist at my own dental practice. Despite having a very busy schedule, Jay fitted in an appointment for me quickly, for which I am very grateful. He was in touch with me prior to my appointment and sent me a comprehensive report with treatment plan and payment options.I’ve just had my first appointment with Jay (and Sophie) and I am already very impressed with the professionalism and friendly service I have received.I was also made to feel very welcome by Emma at Reception, who had been very helpful when I was trying to book an appointment. The practice is very modern and comfortable and I would highly recommend Jay at Colchester Dental Specialist Centre if you are looking for an orthodontist.

Hayley Khetarpal: I just had a tooth fillings in my top wisdom tooth without needing an anaesthetic injection. Mr T.C. Patel was superb, taking extra that his drill did not hurt me too much. In fact the procedure went through like clock work and except for a slight discomfort. I would recommend TC to anyone.
Benedicte Davies: Colchester Dental Specialist Centre just saved and beautifully repaired two of my teeth without having to wait for months, to very high standards, with top notch technology used by professional, talented and caring dentists. At every stage, treatment was explained, questions answered and proper after care advice given. I had root canal treatment by Noman Athwal, done without pain. He also picked up on another problem I then had the chance to address in a proactive way. Following that, I had 2 crowns fitted by Franciska Veldhuizen and her assistant Antonia who make a wonderful, passionate about their work team and looked after me like I was family. The resulting work is both very aesthetically pleasing and of enhanced functionality. I would also like to mention the ladies at reception who are so lovely and efficient. I highly recommend them. It is also easy to get to and to park.
James Sutton: Had two visits to Colchester Dental Specialist Centre. Both very enjoyable experiences. Brilliant service from the moment I stepped through the door.2st visit CT scan and explained the findings in the tooth root in question and treatment plan. Second was the tooth root canal surgery which was very expertly done. Now less than 24 hours after very minimal pain in the tooth and treatment all completed in 1 treatment. Brilliant service and treatment from Noman Athwal. I can not thank you enough.
