Riordan: Some of the food is okay but the fries were simply not worth it and buttermilk chicken was a bit burnt. They have a good selection of drinks for a good price though!However it is always busy here, if you like a quiet sit down drink you'll have to find the right time and day for this.

The new brewery section is a bit quieter than the main bar and has interesting drinks that can't be found elsewhere. Well priced food options also available in a separate restaurant area on the second floor.

David Allen: Easily one of my favourite restaurants in Colchester. Always a warm welcome, the food and drink are outstanding. Particularly the Edges brown and the home made bread with the starters. I've eaten here as a couple, with family, friends, and colleagues on various occasions and always had an excellent meal. A must visit restaurant for anyone in Colchester.Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options available and clearly marked on menuKid-friendliness: We've taken children on many occasions, friendly reception and accessible kids menuParking: No restaurant parking but plenty of local public carparksDietary restrictions: Staff are knowledgeable about ingredients, just ask!
Tobias Rowe: ’ve now visited Doga on a busy Saturday night with a large party and on a quiet Tuesday night as a couple, and I can’t wait to go back again. The food is absolutely INCREDIBLE, served in good time and hot off the grill. The quality of the menu matches the prices; it is good value and there is a wide range of choice. The owner is also lovely: she happily welcomed us as a large, tipsy party as a late booking and also spent time talking to us as a couple. Waiting staff are also polite and efficient, even opening the door for us as we left. With a clean, modern decor and warm evening ambience, this is the Turkish restaurant to go to in Colchester.

I think they may be a victim slightly if their own success, or could do with a few more staff.Tables were dirty and if cleared, wet and crumby. Just need a wipe down. Hard to distinguish who is staff and who are patrons as no uniform is worn, just casual clothes so finding someone to talk was difficult and we waited around like spare parts.Once we ordered at the bar and figured out what to do and where to sit, food was delicious and swiftly sent out from the kitchen. Drinks selection was extensive and cocktail menu, lush.We sat, without bother, for hours chatting away which was wonderful. Would certainly visit again as it's definitely a venue where you can take time, enjoy your time and relax in a bustling atmosphere.
Kirill Delikatnyi: Unimpressed with the new chef. Ordered steaks, medium rare, which came completely uncooked (chef does not know the steak cooking levels). We asked to redo the steaks to which the cook clearly tried to raise an attitude shooting demeaning looks from the open-kitchen window. The chef then simply re-grilled the original steaks, which obviously does not follow any sanitary advice, and brought overcooked, completely horrible meat back. The two of the company who had tried the steaks then went home with food poisoning. Very unprofessional attitude from the chef (not sure whether there is only one chef at the restaurant but this was the chef on duty Tuesday evening, with blue hair).

Simon Sirkin: Visited the Romano Lounge for the first time today and it won’t be the last!Aside from the drinks being flat (which were quickly replaced and certainly not the end of the world), the whole experience from beginning to end was brilliant.My wife and I had the Tapas selection which was absolutely delicious and incredibly well-priced. Nice decor and arrangement, decent windows looking out on to the street and comfortable range of seating, ranging from low sofas, through normal tables up to bar stools and tables for those that need more altitude.Food is ordered via QR code and arrives reasonably quickly. Food is good, decent quality, good taste and flavour and there is a solid range on the menu to please everyone. Pay before you get the food, which means you have to hope you get good food and service, but they have never let me down on any of the multiple trips I have taken there, so I think its a minor point.
Dave Willingham: Just sat in here being resolutely ignored by staff for 15 - 20mins. It was quiet and two of the staff looked at me six or so times each but didn't deign to grace me with their presence even if only to tell me I needed to wait to be seated or order at the bar or explain whatever the issue was preventing me from being treated like a customer. Farcical. And annoying enough for me to take my business elsewhere.

Chelsey Gardner: Bit disappointed in this visit. It was my birthday lunch, and the dining area was absolutely freezing, like sitting in an ice box.....this meant we had to put our coats back on, and within a couple of minutes of getting our food the chips had gone cold and the burger had lost its heat. I normally polish off all my rosemary fries, but eating cold chips is not pleasant. Please get some decent heating in your shop because you're normally my favourite burger joint.
