Colchester Castle Park: what do users think?

Clive Adams: Great historical building. Definitely worth visiting

علوي بجوي: This is Colchester Park. There is a special castle for everyone and there are tickets to pay. But it is a beautiful, large park for children and the elderly and a relaxation station. It has some cute animals. Also, a special thanks to the workers there. 💐

Pete Henshall: Playground: 👍

Mel Lilley: Took my young grandkids to the play area.Plenty of apparatus to use, lots of open space to run around in safely, toilets located close by, seating scattered around so carers can keep an eye on their children.Note: the refreshment kiosk adjacent, presumably a concession, is pretty expensivePlayground: Large area, lots of apparatus

dyslexic89: My favourite place in Colchester love castle park.

Matt Mason: Best park in Colchester 😁

Baza Makeid: Colchester great place to see an old Roman

Karen Salter: Great place to visit. Beautiful gardens. Lovely play park for kids. Brilliant cafe with friendly staff.

Lorna Thomas: Loved the adventure golf ⛳ fully recommend giving it a go. Walking in the park and visiting the castle are also worth doing

Gill Sweeting: Lovely park free to visit right in the town center. Great kids play park with a big sand pit. There is an ice cream hut next to the kids park and toilets nearby. Beautiful old fashioned flower bedding in the summer, with nice walks and benches to sit and enjoy them there is a little tea room.

simon: As advertised, a castle in Colchester. Interesting museum, Norman wasn't in.

Mandy Tindle: A beautiful place for a relaxing walk.

Ronauld Cameron: Great history here . Small but informative

Barry Everett: A wonderful Hotel.Excellent service and extremely comfortableRooms: Very comfortable .Food & drinks: Very good food

Sarah Vernon: We had a wonderful staff the whole place was clean, the room was nice, cosy and comfortable, the radiator came on straight away, TV in the room small table and chair ,kettle with tea and coffee and shampoo and shower gel and the shower was amazing , the morning breakfast was omg amazing everything you could think of was there we had a feast and lots of coffee and juice, I think if they could improve I would say memory foam topper the bed was comfortable but could of been softer hip was numb by morning, and there was a plug socket on one side of the bed but not the otherside we had a twin room and no ubs ports on the switches so many people now like to browse there phones at bedtime and charge the phone too and I slipped getting out of the bath was so slippery and house keeping didn't put in a new shower gel in the room had ran outOther than that we had a very relaxing stay, the design of the build was very nice looking from the outside and inside and we would look forward to staying again

Chris Warburton: Very good overall.Service in restaurant is really slow. The pull out bed in family room has the mechanical bits at sides exposed. It looked about 50 years old.Pool is very nice. Food is really nice. Staff are friendly. Nice kid's play area near reception.

Allan Butler: Came here for a training course, facilities are very good, rooms are clean and staff are always willing to help with anything. Good restaurant and food, with very generous portions.Noteworthy details: The hotel is in the process of installing EV charging points. However, there are charging points less than 1 mile away.

Roger Tweed: It is a perfect place to spend an overnight stay. Good restaurant with very friendly staff and service. I strongly recommend the trio of pies. The hotel offers a friendly welcome in reception. The room is basic, but the bed is comfortable, and the room is spotless. The only thing I'd ask for is what travel lodge offers in terms of a comfortable chair to sit in to read a book and enjoy a cup of tea.

Leander: Friendly welcome, clean rooms, nice atmosphere, great breakfast and the beer in the evening is also perfectly tapped. Also free parking spaces in front of the house. All in all a good place to stay in Colchester with very reasonable value for money.Rooms: spacious and clean

jacob mouwer: Only had dinner here, which was very goodFood & drinks: Good food

vanessa wilson: Stayed 1 night to go to a party at the rugby club. Receptionist couldnt have been more helpful. Rooms nice but a bit of a hike to get to!Rooms: No USB points as other premier inns have

Honest Reviewer: A modern 40 inch Samsung TV was provided, plus a separate wall socket below giving access to the TVs HDMI and USB connections.2

Holiday Inn Express Colchester, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Hayley Nunn: I enjoyed staying here. We asked for two rooms next to each other, and the staff didn't disappoint! Me and my friend had a little issue with our key card, but the staff at reception were very helpful. The room was spacious with tea and coffee, although the kettle wasn't great and quite small. The pillows were a bit strange and too high for us, but that's just personal preference. We had breakfast included, which was a bargain for the price we paid. Cooked bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, pastries. Then there was cereal and fruit. We had ordered some vegan sausages, and they were a little delayed, but we're happy to help with this. It's very easy to get around the hotel and check out was simple enough. Free parking too, which was handy. I would definitely come back again.Rooms: The rooms are a good size, but the thermostat wasn't working and was very cold in the room. Also the duvet wasn't big enough for two people sharing a double bed.Food & drinks: The breakfast was included, and was very tasty with lots of choice

حيدر عبدالله: excellent

patricia marsh: Room 5* , as very clean, well decorated. but door very heavy and difficult to open. And this was a disabled room ! Apart from that, we had a very pleasant stay. . Lovely staff, and plenty so no waits etc. Food in cafe was limited but fine, hot and tasty. Lovely breakfast and 24 hour free fresh coffee available. Hotel fairly easy to find and away from main part of city , so no traffic around. Plenty of parking so worth fee. So hotel ideal as we needed to be near Papworth hospital for an early morning appointment.
