Childsplay Adventureland: what do users think?
K C: Will Childsplay Adventureland ever open again?
Student- Toby Land: my kid drowned in the ball pit
Mary Gribbin: Excellent for all children to enjoy themselves
Allie Pearson: We held our daughters birthday party here at the weekend and have to say that I was very pleased with our experience from start to finish. They have a great variety of softplay for the over twos but it's also set up so that you can easily walk around the whole of the soft play to keep an eye on your children. The size of the 0-2 play area was the largest that I've personally seen and has a great variety for little ones to play safely in.We had a dedicated party team member who ensured we were very well looked after supply us with tables inside the main Hall and a separate room for the party meal. All of the setup with the cake is dealt with for you which is a great help. The party was very reasonably priced and alot of the parents had never been before said they would now use this as their preferred softplay area.We had a great day and thank you to everyone that made it so special for our daughter.
Dominic Walton: Good the food could do with a small improvement. Good for kids of all ages as they have a big area for under 2's aswell as the big area for older children
Frances Atkinson: Excellent play area. Could speed up the service at the cafe, but the clearing and cleaning of the seating/table areas were prompt and well done. The toilets should be checked and cleaned more frequently.
Penny wakefield: Dark gloomy dirty very expensive food for that you get
Heidi Mitchell: Lovely place and plenty of play equipment, food and drink slightly on the pricier side especially for the quality and waiting times were ridiculous...30 minute wait for a few bags of crisps and some squash. Their coffee comes out of a sachet which I would not expect to pay over £2 a mug for, especially when they can't even make it properly. But the children enjoyed it just wish they had more larger tables for bigger groups.
Scott Nessling: Absolute joke. Waiting in a queue for half an hour to be told I have to wait another half hour for them to put some baby food in a microve for 20 seconds... Their excuse is they take it as an order so why should other customers wait. These people clearly havent had children as how can you expect a baby to wait an hour for their food. 20 seconds off someone's order is not going to affect them at all. Once I got the baby food it was piping hot. They put it in there for at least 2 minutes for it to get that hot I've had to wait forever for it to cool down. Absolute joke of a place. Do not visit
Jez Donnelly: Plenty to keep the children occupied but very dated. The staff serving drinks left a bit to be desired, but polite enough once they were actually there. The toilets weren't great, didn't feel like they're checked very often and tissue all over the floors every time I went. The hand dryer is no stronger than your breath and the general cleanliness could be better. Not the worst place as my kids had fun but not the best softplay venue in colchester sadly.
Emma Till: A nice place for kids to go and play but need to up the game abit as better places around. Paid for a drink that was only half filled. waited ages for food to then be told had lost it would understand if was busy but was dead. Not wot it used to be.
Zoey Brown: Visited with 12 & 8 yr old. Big area with plenty to climb and crash about. Also has a lovely area for toddlers. Staff are friendly and main area is generally clean.Food and snacks are expensive and they don't have allergy alternatives (dairy and gluten) which is unhelpful personally as 2 in my group are dairy intolerant. I'd like to see this changed and may well extend my stay in future if we could eat there.
Gracie Cocksedge: Clean, friendly and reasonably priced, I'll be back!
mike coupe: Kids love it here
Emi Morris: Adventureland is a fun little place for you to take your children for a couple of hours. There's an area specifically for your under-2's, and obviously an area for the larger children too. I do like the fact that parents are allowed to go on to the frames with the kids, it certainly makes you feel like a kid again! The price is fairly average, at £5 entrance per child it's really not too bad. But the cost of the food vs quality really isn't spectacular. The food is average and if I'm honest, it's really just sustenance for the kids.I also feel that with the amount of kids eating and running around, cleaning could be a little more constant. The crumbs on the floor is a real put off.Overall, it's a nice place to take the kids for a couple hours, but could be better.
Terry Thompson: Great place to take the kids
Roger Carey-Smith: Loved it. My grandson loved it too
Patryk Dabek: Yes this is perfect place for our child and drinks coffee for us lovely staff very helpful, good for birthday party not expensive highly recomended
Bev Statom-Barnett: Great place for children and adults to have fun
Zoe and Kev Hiles (ZoeKev): Busy but well staffed and organised great toddlers area only thing it lacks is a disabled children's sensitivity area which is essential when busy, but all soft play centres neglect to provide for disabled children
Hayley Purks: Really clean and really good for under 2s

Richmond Road Play Park: what do users think?
Rhia: Lovely little park for children up to about 10 ..
Kim Barnetson: Really nice play area, well thought out with I interesting and challenging equipment for all ages. Its also fenced in . The only improvement would be some toilets.
R Islam: Awesome little park for mainly younger kids though there is apparatus suitable for older ones.
Beanie101: Hamter wel
Scott Tilley: Great little park
Andrew Cartwright: Kids loved this playground (despite not having a zip line...!) Lots of tunnels and space to run around, with an obstacle course, Slide and swing. It was also nice that it's been kept nice and tidy and in good condition.

Jungle Adventure Ltd: what do users think?
Emma W93: Had my sons 2nd birthday here back in February and come here most weeks for play dates: it’s spacious, gives them enough freedom to run wild but contained enough that you know their not going to escape.Love it, the staff are super friendly and the food options are plenty ( good for people with fussy kids)
Matt Ford: Rude staff at coffee house! I am deaf, staff did not have a pleasant way of dealing with me! Also ridiculous price for 3 hot drinks at £10.50?! Avoid!!!!
Danielle Humphries: Went today with my boyfriend, step son & niece ages 5 & 10.We had a lovely time, kids loved the play area and my niece loved the football court and we loved the coffee win win!!Staff where constantly cleaning everywhere, even the toilets when we went into use.It was busy as you'd expect for a Saturday afternoon in winter but not too busy and over crowded it all seemed well under control and safe for the little ones.I'm really impressed as we have visited a lot of play centres but me and my boyfriend will happily travel 40 mins to visit here again.Great job guys! :)
mehmet smith: Nice friendly clean place .. staff were lovely. The man ( with tattoos down his arms) might have been the boss was a lovely top fella. Will 100% be back !
alysia alder: I was dubious about going today because the reviews were very mixed but the play areas are clean, the toilets are warm & well equipped. The guy at the front desk was cheerful & polite cannot comment on anyone else. I’ve given 4 starts because the food is pricey for the quality.
WINFRED WAMBUI: Am so disappointed by one of the staff at the reception by the name Aby!!my God the lady did not take time to digest what exactly I wanted she dismissed me indirectly and told me to refer to their website 😢, I wanted to book for a birthday party room, she took no time to offer me any verbal information. She told me due to power cut she could not assist in anyway. Luckily a very good lady overheard the conversation as she passed and offered me a chance to look at their party rooms bless her. She was so calm and answered my every question. She also told me to write down my contact. After I left I called back after like four hours only for Aby to answer my call and told me she can't talk to me and offer any information because the phones were not charged since its been an hour since they got their power back. Like seriously, how?a phone need more than an hour to charge for a big business like that!
Maxine Dawson: We went for the first time yesterday. The admission price was reasonable. The young lady on reception was lovely and very welcoming (Brown hair tied back) The premise’s looked very clean. A very good menu, however expensive! (It all adds up) I was hugely disappointed in the babies area, not much at all for that age. I much prefer ‘Go Bananas’ as they have so much more to offer the little ones. Jungle Adventure, is great, but much better for the older child. We witnessed an incident where a father, starting shouting abuse at one of the children. The staff, went over and spoke with him BUT allowed him to stay within the premises. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable (especially around my Grandson) he should of been escorted out of the building! Would I go again?! Maybe BUT please ,make the babies part bigger and put some toy’s in etc… Also the older children, should not be allowed in that area.
James Havers: The owner of this place has a terrible attitude, seems like he couldn’t care less about his paying customers. Shame, won’t be coming here again.
Nancy: Front of house staff needs training.I used to come here a lot however standards have slipped. Being the first point of contact you need to deliver excellent customer service and that’s not what you receive. She needs more training and most importantly common sense. You are meant to go above and beyond when dealing with customers (the ones paying your wages). Apart from that the girls/ boys inside are very friendly and helpful. I am someone who’s trained front of house staff and been one myself.
Alaina Caira: Had a party here for my daughter today. Chose it because it had a great deal but also because of all the soft plays in colchester this is definitely the cleanest! Coffee is decent and food (I have only had jacket potato here) is good! Prices aren't bad for normal admission either and plenty to do for all ages too. Staff always seem friendly and helpful, the manager always seems to be around too which can't be a bad thing for the running of the business. The party today, we had Molly I think as our host, she was fab and really helpful, nothing was too much trouble and the venue catered for guests allergies. Really happy we booked here. Well done team! 👏
Danielle Lomas: Great value for money staff are amazing especially Abi can never do enough to help actually brought the 6 week pass because of her !!! defiantly worth the money lots of entertainment and activity’s for the kiddies food is all fresh and healthy no greasy chips and burgers always clean and staff actively cleaning tables and chairs and high chairs straight after use and there is hand sanitizer available all over would definitely recommend great for all ages as have the football court my 11 year old boy loves thank you jungle adventure
Marcus Evans: If you plan to go to a soft play that is clean and well maintained, this is the one for you. The food is above average quality for a soft play as well, with the pizza especially good. The soft play itself is well maintained and large, with areas for different age children and ample entertainment for kids of any age. It has massive amounts of parking and is good for birthdays. The staff are friendly and work fast, so have never had to wait too long for food. All in all probably my favorite soft play, and with young kids I have visited more than a few!
Rob: Very poor, very rude staff. My wife took our son who is 18 months old. Whilst there she spent £15 on food and drink. Whilst waiting for the food to come out (the service was very slow) she gave our son some strawberries to eat at the table which she had brought out with her for the day as he was getting restless and upset. She was then asked to put them away as wasn’t bought on the premises. Even though she did so begrudgingly the manager felt the need to come over and try and belittle her further. This is unacceptable behaviour for someone running a child’s play centre as this was done in full view and hearing of anyone around. Will not be returning and nor will any of the other mums in the party of 4.Shot yourselves in the foot there for the sake of an extra couple of £ when you’ve already had the best part of £25!
R W: First time visiting - weekday morning.First impressions - I wish I had never bothered to "go" to the other soft play in Colchester. This one outdoes them in so many ways. There are sections that aren't restricted to age but suggested to ages. There's a 0-2 area (that one was restricted tbf) a 0-4 suggested and a 4-9 (please don't quote me !) But either way my 19 month old got to try each of these 3 out. These are just the side areas in addition to the main event soft play area for the older kids.It wasn't busy, or cramped. The food menu was fantastic. The staff were really nice too which also added to the experience. Can't fault it tbh, and this is coming from a mum with pretty bad social anxiety so you can imagine soft plays are one of my fave places to visit...Completely outdid my expectations - worth every penny and I don't say that often. Thanks Jungle Adventure. We shall be back!
Chrissy Kerssen: Great time here. Large and was very clean, not busy at all during the day… it felt very open, I felt maybe there could be a bit more about, but lots of tables and. Hairs that I’m sure on weekends are really needed. I wasn’t a fan of all of the pay to ride toys about the place, we’ve already paid money to get in and it just feels unessecary and drama creating with young kids.
Jaime Tung: I'd been to Jungle Adventure around 2-3 times before deciding to book it as a venue for our 4-year-old's birthday party, and I'm so glad we did. As several others have remarked here already, it's probably the cleanest soft play centre we go to and there are a variety of activities for the kids. I love the different sections but my 3 little ones really enjoy the trampoline and also the bit where they can kick/throw the soft balls. Staff are super friendly and welcoming, unlike other centres we regularly go to. I'd recommend it without hesitation to anyone else. Our three children are 4 and 2 (identical twins), for reference.
Inga Pop: We have celebrated our daughter's 2nd birthday and frankly speaking we were disappointed!!The staff was OK, but the rest of all, not really.First of all, they changed the room assigned to us without informing us and secondly the room wasn't ready in time, they were cleaning it and our guests were waiting!!We felt rushed and restricted! We bought a premium pack, but IT DOESN'T WORTH THE MONEY!!
Daryl Mann: Paid £8.50 to take my 10 month old as it is £3 for him and £2.75 for each adult? We was there for an hour and a half to then be told our time slot had ended, which we had spent most of that time feeding our son and having our lunch unaware of the time limit we had (very stale tiny sausage sandwich costing £5.60!)Sadly the only time we did have to play we was in the UNDER 2’s area to be greeted with around 5/6 children around the age of 6 turning the ball pit upside down and throwing balls near our babies! There was no staff patrolling any of the play area, no parents to be seen and the play mirrors were absolutely disgustingly filthy!Safe to say we will not be returning
Jde52: We’ve been on 2 occasions now. Unfortunately on our first visit our 14m old little boy was sick shortly after arrival. The staff were absolutely FANTASTIC !! We offered to clear it all up and they insisted it was fine, checked our little boy was okay and if there was anything else they could do but we said we’d best take him home. They very kindly offered to book us in for another visit for free since we’d not been there very long. Tbh I was expecting to pay a cleaning charge instead of being welcomed back so that was a very very pleasant surprise. We’ve just been for our second visit and staff were still as welcoming and friendly. The soft play is fantastic and clean with so much variety for the kids to do. It’s also not been cram packed on either visit like many places which makes for a nicer experience. Food was lovely, hot and reasonably priced. Definitely going to be our go to soft play from now on !
Reagan Cronin: 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Highwoods Country Park: what do users think?
Tanisha Green: Always pretty.
David Hicks: It's a beautiful place to walk with your friends, family, dog, whatever. A little green oasis that there should be more of.
Frances Downes: Beautiful walksPlayground: Clean lovely placeDog-friendliness: Loads of lovely areas to walk poochPicnic area: Tidy clean spacious
Stu Allen: Lovely walk and surroundings. Great exercise walk for all the family.
Lekhulal Mathalipara: Awesome landscape
Sammy: Really spacious and hilly park with playgrounds for the little ones. Good place to feed the ducks on the lake as well.
Jenifer Brett: It is a lovely and beautiful place to walk your dog. The only two reasons I have given it a 3 stars: 1 you have to pay for parking, 2 there isn't a place to eat.
Liz Graudins: Three main walks for families and dogs. Parking excellent value although MiPermi app not efficient or user friendly. Excellent facilities - toilets, dog water, snack shop.Playground: Benches available around play park, plus plenty of grass around the lake (no dogs allowed at the lake)Restrooms: Clean, spacious. A pleasant surprise for a public toilet.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed in most areas, although there are some restrictions - not allowed in play park or around the lake, which is understandable. Also, all dogs must be on a lead near the car park, again the reasons are obvious. Dog waste bins in the main areas, so you don't need to carry it very far.Picnic area: Grass, tables, and benches. Plenty of choice.
Steve Wood: A great place to walk, plenty of parking areas, £1.00 for two hours, and a new play area being built, also a place to buy a coffee.
Chris Cowell: Car parks are paid by app only and the app wouldn't work so we abandoned our visit and went to Castle Park instead.for anyone that doesn't have a Smart phone it's impossible to pay for parking! It's a shame because Highwoods is a lovely place to go for a pleasant walk. Sadly we won't be going back!
Charlie Harris: A slice of countryside in the middle of a large urban area. Great for wildlife and people alike. Served by various carparks that can fill up quickly, some are free some you pay for. Great place for kids, dogs, and grown ups to explore and relax. Toilets and cafe in main pay and display carpark. Paths are well maintained but can get muddy when wet. There are areas where dogs must be on a lead due to grazing animals or bodies of water. Blue algae might be a risk but didn't see any signs.
Elizabeth Coronel: Lindo lugar para relajarte
David Jackson: Lots of squirrels for the kids to see
Alice Matapuri: First contact your husband just now to tell you tickets.
Lisa Jones: Loved it here. The lake is beautiful.perfect for a long walk.wear good boots though.great for kids.
David Ball: Nicer and relaxing but muddy
Nick Thorp: Great walks meeting greyt people
Leanne Hague: Absolutely beautiful place, brilliant for a walk. There's a lake with a large open grass area. You can find sculptures along the paths. There is also a playground area with some good equipment. I believe there is an allotment area too.
Roy Barclay: Extensive parkland to the North of Colchester. Despite being so closeby to the town centre, has the feeling of being inside a wood. As well as the deciduous trees, lots of wildflowers & fungi to be found throughout the year, as well as ponds attracting all sorts of insects. Highwoods Country Park is a beautiful place suitable for dog walkers, ramblers, bird watchers, etc...
Dean Carter: This is a Great place but an important note for new visitors coming by car is that you can no longer pay to park using coins. You must have a payment bank / credit card or use the MI permit app.
Kevin: Went there for a relaxing walk around the park and enjoyed it greatly

Squeak: Lovely little park. Nice open areas, a small kids playground including a zip wire and small climbing wall, and a dog agility area which is a fantastic addition.4 entrances, one of which opens onto the main road so not suitable for dogs off lead unless they can be recalled / stopped.Has private allotments on one side.Unfortunately, you do have to be careful with young kids and dogs because cyclists often do not slow down along the cycle path that runs through the middle of it.

Taiwo Onilenla: Nice place for the children
Andrew Cartwright: Playground is large and fenced in which means you don't need to worry as much about the small people running off towards the roads. There is swings, a gladiator style equipment and a large climbing castle type thing, as well as the usual swings and roundabout. Unfortunatly some of the equipment is broken and some of the area had rubbish (broken glass!) on our visit.
shane Gordon-Smith: Nice little playground, kids loved it, has swings, slides, monkey bars and a "Gladiators" style course to race on
Ben Nelson: I used to play there when I was a kid. Took my kids there and they love it
clive wyatt: Could do with a clean up but the kids still love it.
May Rebale: I love hanging out here with my friends
Azizulla Azimat: Near
