Leo Reeves: Had my dogs booked in for a day , called as requested when we arrived and were told someone would open the gates. 10 minutes later called again as we were still waiting and we’re told that they would open the gates after the had managed to “secure some dogs”. 10 minutes later we called again ,twice , and our calls were not answered. Very poor customer service there!!!
Morrigan Rimmer: Our long haired cat had unsanitary matts in her rear end and we were very relived to find a local groomer that accommodated cats!She is very friendly but we were concerned she would freak out at a groomers. Our only concern was the presence of a large, barking dog, which we were confused about because we were assured there would be no dogs in the afternoon when the cats are booked for grooming, so maybe not the place for a very timid cat (luckily our cat didn't mind too much and was pretty calm) .Bubbles managed to do an excellent job, trimming and brushing her, cutting her nails and getting all the matts out! And the price was very reasonable compared to alternatives in the local area.Will be visiting again!

Yasmin Braddon: What can I say Kerry was a natural, she had such a special way with animals. My dog Snickers really didn't have a problem going to Kerry in fact she made a day of it. The first time she went she ended up falling asleep in her bag under Kerrys desk. The staff are also wonderful & nothing is too much trouble. We'll done all of you. Will miss Kerry
Paul Tyrer: Lovely staff but, sadly very poor groom, which was such a shame as first groom there was really lovely! Oscar (cockapoo) was there for 3.5 hrs. On collection he was still wet, didn’t look like anything other than his head had been cut. Tried to level up his head at home but it is beyond saving!
Neil Smith: The staff are lovely, the place is clean and the dogs seem very well looked after, but our dog had a terrible cut and we only knew that she had a cut at all because her feet looked neater!
Lois Bloomfield: Dont get me wrong, The staff where absolutely lovely and do seem to take good care of the dogs and my girl came out smelling amazing, asked me exactly what i wanted, but the clip itself is quite poor. So uneven Lots of bits have been missed, her face is quite chopped at with chunks missing on her nose. 😕 shame as I did have a plesent experience.

Andrew Thompson: I apparently have had a different experience to all these 5 star reviews. I rang Animal Magic up for a quote for a full groom for my two dogs. I was quoted £25 and £30 respectively. Animal Magic had to ring me back to take a booking, when they did the price had gone up to £35 and £30.When I got there I was asked if we wanted a deep ear clean, I was confused as I was advised that the price quoted was for ears. I said yes and the price went up again to £40 and £35 (£75).When I picked up my two dogs the price was £85. Hang on I said, £40 and £35 is £75, not £85. Oh yeah they said. They took my card and ran it through like it was a phone purchase, I didn't put my PIN in. I didn't get a receipt, they didn't take my name, or the dogs' names. The whole thing felt shady AF.When I got home I checked and their ears haven't been cleaned, the small one's paw was bleeding as they'd knicked a skin tag. She had sleep her eyes too, so I'm not sure how thorough the bath was, she was also still damp.I'd not go back again. The whole thing seemed off.

kaylee louise: So i didnt want to do this but i feel like i have to now, about 2 months ago i took my dog to this groomer for a trim, specifically asked to keep her face the way he was. When i picked her up she was shaven completely bald basically and i was told 4 DEAD fleas wer found in her fur.. now i have no other pets and my dogs never had fleas in the whole months of her little life.. but since bringing her home from this groomers shes riddled. Ive spend over £80 pounds on different flea treatments, and home flea sprays and the fleas jus wont go anywhere my poor dog is in bits has bites all over her belly and i have no clue what to do next, so i have to now fork out more money taking her to the vet for help! I would avoid this groomers at all costs!!

D God: Monkeys nickname was fast becoming ‘Gnasher or Spit the Dog’. She’s 5 and had never been groomers, hence nicknames! Called in to see Mel about having my sidekick detached and tidied up a bit. Before i could tell mel what i was hoping for with the groom she told me what i needed and it was exactly what i wanted. I’d have no problem leaving my dog with this person. Came to collect her and was a little overwhelmed at the fantastic job mel had done, dont get me started on the bandana!!! She’s (the dog) smart, trimmed around her mouth yet retained her terrier beard, claws trimmed and now smells like shes going out on the town tonight, and let me tell you ppl about the finer detail, she now has a ‘Starfish’ that hasnt seen the light of day for years!I can not recommend Mel at Bubbles highly enough. From the reassurances i got on enquiring to the end result. I went along there with 80£ in my pocket, it was half that! Best 40£ ever spent. (6 stars)

After reading through website it says GSD etc so I phoned to book an appointment etc for my GSD and told in a blunt and curt don't do those, only for her to attempt to retract her words with German Shepherd's are too big. Sorry and put the phone down.Please if you see this. Update your site as it shows dogs bigger than a GSD as well and just say you don't do them on the site.However they do lots of friends dogs and they all seem to rant and take about them, hence why I got in touch....

Callum Gordon: My partner took our French bulldog cross here for a groom yesterday. I must say she came back smelling the best she ever has! I’m rather overwhelmed because she has never smelled feminine before but now my girl smells like a girl. Her nails were clipped nicely and cut very neatly ready for summer months. Her ears, teeth and even paw-pads were cleaned up! She seemed happy and calm upon her return home and even had a nap to celebrate her hard days modelling. They even have a doggy day care to socialise with other dogs which sounds brilliant for her! We will be looking into getting her in for a day :) amazing service would highly recommend for anyone who wants their dog to be treated with respect and kindness!

Unfortunately will not be using their services again.My mini schnauzer came back with 2 cuts on both ears and excessive hair removal on her one thigh and her skin was nicked there too. She needed a good trim when she arrived but was not matted or tangled and when she came out she had hardly any hair on her .at all , including her legs.You would only know she was a schnauzer by het beard . Thankfully , this was not removed. She will have to have a coat on for the next 4-6 weeks.I also booked in to have her teeth cleaned and they forgot to do it. On checking they said it was never booked in and referred me to someone else.I would not recommend them as their services for dog grooming seems to be like an assembly line. Too busy to care..

Steve Hutley: I have been using the girls at ‘Mutley and Mabel’s for the past 4 years with our Tibetan Terrier ’Kuba’ and always they are calm and considerate of our dogs needs and always produce a fantastic cut!We have recently adopted a rescue Tibetan Terrier ‘Oreo’ who doesn’t particularly like people touching his rear end and the previous owners couldn’t groom him. Due to this, when he came to us he was really matted, so much so it was hurting him. He would constantly bite at his skin to try and get rid of the knots. Well when he went in the girls were so good with him. On our return we were shown the ‘sheepskin rug’ that they had shaved off as they had to take him right down. They said that as his fur was coming off he just relaxed with the new found freedom he felt! Thanks girls. We’re so grateful of your excellent work you do for our dogs. We would (and often do) recommend ’Mutley and Mabel’s for grooming your dogs!

My pup Miko was very comfortable and calm being handed to them and enjoyed a lot of fuss and cuddles before I leftAll staff made me feel calm and eased my worries about her first puppy trimWhen collecting my pup, she was beautifully washed, dried and cut. She’s normally a nervous dog in new situations but I came back to a super happy and excited puppy smelling great too!!I could not recommend more. I will be returning for her regular appointments each month. Thank you so much!

Graham Seal: Cannot rate these wonderful dog groomers highly enough. Took our Kitch (Tibetan Terrier) last week for his first 'proper' cut, after 2 puppy trims. They made absolutely sure we were all on the same page when it came to length, and he came out looking amazing. Won't ever go anywhere else now.

T T: Took my new rescue Swiss Shepherd Fred to Muttley and Mable on recommendations from Facebook. Fred is a nervous dog and this was probably his first visit to such a place after 6months in the RSPCA centre. Upon arriving the staff really put us at ease asking for his background and needs as part of there assessment then our needs of the day Ie natural look or very tidy etc. Fred had a full groom and really loved his hour and half not only does he now look even more stunning he sleeps human too. The staff are great know there stuff well and tho it’s very busy the pen type holding they use created a safe space for nervous Fred to feel ok during his treatments. Overall we are very pleased with the results and that Fred was very comfortable during his stay thanks to highly experienced staff.. have booked agin in 8 weeks.

Saint Bat: I booked here as I had a voucher sent to me and we are really pleased with the outcome.Our pooch smelled lovely & looked like a super - pooch !He was very bouncy & happy when I saw him through the perspex when collecting & the groomer seemed very knowledgeable.Ours is a large breed with a lot of long flowing locks growing in different directions so not an easy customer.Would use The Groom Room again & recommend.
Katie Brimfield: Over a month waiting list, with 2 labradoodles I couldn’t wait that long. I have given 5 stars because staff were nice and friendly. Can’t say if it was fully booked because they are good or because it’s in the shop and it’s convenient. Had to go somewhere else in the end
CORI RENATA: I booked in a grooming appointment for my dog and arrived for said appointment to be told I would be charged 10% more due to a price increase. As is common knowledge, this is against consumer law so I won't be going back.I was also upset that there was a dog in a cage sounding very distressed and crying a lot when I arrived to drop off my dog.
Faye Holds: Our 9 month labradoodle has his first adult full groom today ( 3rd visit) he was reluctant to go in but the girls were soo welcoming and happy to see him again his tail was soon wagging. His groom took less time than expected so we arrived back to him looking fresh having a lovely time.

Gowtham Cherukuri: Good value for money, good grooming services, the front desk girls are always nice and helpful, they love our dog and remember him by name and always welcoming..**BUT** really bad branch customer service by the centre manager..Shame such a great service is managed by such badly tempered and reckless person, this place could do really well once it gets transferred to a well trained manager.During covid times, there were multiple occasion they couldn’t hold up to their end is the appointments and we were ok with it. There was one occasion we couldn’t make to our appointment and they kept our £15! We have been very loyal to them and got our boy groomed every time since we got him in 2017.We will check back and go back to them once the manager is given better training in handling situations better or a one of the girls is promoted to take over the management of the centre.

Faye Mann: 1st visit as a welfare visit as his nails were long, lovely lady looked after Dobby and really looked after him. He wasnt stressed and smelled great and coat was soft and smooth
Rowan Jay: Great service. Our little pug was due in at 14:00 but we asked to fit her in sooner which they did. She got the full works, brush, clean nails. She looks wonderful and she's very happy.
Taboo Yanoo: Take my two dogs there every 4 weeks. The girls in Colchester are so good with them. They always look forward to going there. They are personable too, take an interest in what they've been up to. Puppy parlour is a tail wagging word in our house .

Susi Burnham: I specifically asked them not to cut my dogs coats short, they came back looking like they’d been shorn like sheep! My kids were in tears when they saw them, apparently ‘I don’t want their coats cut short’ ismisinterpretable - not sure how. Very traumatic for us and the dogs who have not moved out of their beds since, needless to say I will not be using them again.

Andy Jackson: Went to the groom room for the first time today and all I can say is, they did a good job.The young lady that was cutting my cocker spaniel listened to what I wanted for my dog, and she delivered everything I asked for.She was a very polite lady and very professional.I will definitely go again and ask for the same groomer.Never managed to get the young lady's name but she had a tattoo on her left fore arm. Will be asking for her to do my dog again.

Lush Hair: We have a Spaniel, our first family dog. We knew he'll need lots of exercise and wanted someone trustworthy to walk him for us when we were unable to. We found that in PAWS +. Emily came round to meet us and our dog - who was only 16 weeks at the time. She was very professional and any fears that we had were dispelled after our meeting - she was reassuring and we could sense that she knew a lot about dogs...Our not so young puppy loves her and we are very grateful that we found PAWS + - very professional and caring at the same time - I highly recommend PAWS + (If I could give more than 5 stars for this review I would) Shola A - Colchester
