H. Gunton: what do users think?

Glenys Palmer: Quaint little deli packed to the rafters with selections of teas, coffees, cured meats, packaged and tinned goods. Best cranberry sauce I've tasted. Gets very busy and a bit congested in the aisles but worth every minute spent in there.

funsizeisback: Every deli should be like this. Probably the largest range of cheeses in East Anglia! Good range of coffees, cooked meats, patisserie, preserves from Tiptree Jams, including the delicious Medlar Jelly. Always check the opening times though. Sadly the decline of Colchester has meant that trading is difficult. But thank God Guntons is hanging on in there!

Steve Mann: Little gem which is well known to locals for being a place to be able to source all sorts of food related items which you can't find in regular supermarkets or food shops. Lovely cheeses, jams, fresh produce, freshly ground coffee - the list goes on. Sadly not open for as many days or hours as before the pandemic but still worth checking out. Some things more expensive than elsewhere but for those hard to find goodies, this is the place.

Jonny Snatchsniffer: Luvely jubbly

Alasdair Barclay: Always excellent

Peter Jury: I love this shop, it's been going for years. I love the different coffee that they have.EXCELLENT

Daniel Saville: Can't thank Chris and the team enough! We wanted to have a "Cheese" wedding cake and they couldn't do enough for us. Went above and beyond to make sure we had the dream cake we wanted, from how it would look to tasters and all the advice we needed. The cheese itself tasted amazing and at the wedding itself everyone loved it and the look. Chris can't thank you enough for making that part of our day thank you!

Andrew Poole: Best place to buy coffee in Colchester

Elizabeth Jurd: Fabulous service providing an amazing hamper. I wanted to thank a good friend and this was the perfect solution.

Anne Currie: Delicious stuff

Szymon Walkowiak: , once a week or fortnight, but never left a review, I'm sorry! After Brexit, Guntons is now my 'window' to Europe, just a few minutes away from my home. They have a great selection of French/Swiss/Italian/Spanish

Sarah Munson: Such an incredible range of goods in a little gem of a shop.

Liam Johnson: Not as much selection as I have seen in the past but really nice lady that served me.

Village Deli: what do users think?

Robert Hogg: I love this places selection of cheeses

Jane Stewart: The best eggs, a cheese selection to die for and such friendly staff

David T: Fantastic cheese counter, a really good curated selection of meat, wine and beer, and a surprisingly extensive collection of authentic Mexican cooking ingredients. Plus some very nice sandwiches. This place has about 90% of what you need. You don't miss the 10% it doesn't have

Fj Harmon: Love it great food sarnies, staff excellent and knowledgeable

Bob K: Always happy to talk and learn about the finer points of cheese with the proprietors! Best place to pick up a great selection for your wine and cheese party. Yes they have a fine selection of wine too. From responsibly sourced meat products, to hard to find spices, dried Mexican peppers, dried goods, terrines, the Deli has you covered. Fresh locally baked and their homemade liver pate are not to be missed. Definitely a foodie paradise!

Christopher Blomeley: A refreshing range of yummy foods and drink not easily found elsewhere, local producers and a central location in Wivenhoe. If you're visiting for the day pop in for something special to eat and drink at home...

Rachel Scott: I had a really delicious vegan sausage roll from here and went back later for some more goodies. Lovely shop with lots of vegan options, I will definitely visit again. It's a shame my husband and I don't live closer.

Karen Yim: Love the pip and nut maple peanut butter here. There's a range of food and tea options. Would definitely recommend. For now, they do require masks and only 3 people allowed at once, so remember to bring your mask to get in!

Gill Walker: Friendly owners and tempting display

Jaime Tung: I have been frequenting the Deli long before we made the decision to move our family to Wivenhoe. It still firmly remains one of my favourite spots for lunch, and I often go early for the delicious, freshly made sandwiches and soups to be enjoyed either on the waterfront, or at home. The owners have always been very friendly to me. I respect their preferences for limiting numbers in their store, as well as the mask-wearing requirement during this difficult time.

Reed Wood: Absolutely brilliant place. Excellent selection of cheeses, wines, baked goods. Owners are very friendly. One of my favourite places in Wivenhoe.

Massimo Poesio: We're so lucky to have such a wonderful Deli in Wivenhoe, well supplied and the owners are great people

Thomas Roper: Hands down the best hummus round the scene

Angela Godwin: Wivenhoe Deli has a good variety of quality cheeses, wine and food. Friendly service and Covid conscious and have remained open through the whole of the pandemic. I especially like the cumin goats cheese - yum!

Richard Willcocks: I love this place, always a friendly welcome and like a bazaar selling all sorts of wonderful goodies, fantastic bread, the absolute best selection of perfect cheeses and brilliant meat from local Becky's Butchers. Very much missing the tea shop breakfast and cakes at the moment!
