T D: Be warned. Richardsons took our car on as an insurance repair. They assessed the car by photos. They advised us that the repair would be done in a week unless they find further damage then a month for the readon of national part shortages. We were prepared for this. It took us 9 WEEKS to get our car back. Richardsons policy is to take the car first. THEN order parts. We phoned regularly for updates. One minute we are told its in for spraying now. Then waiting on parts. Then we have parts. Then waiting on parts. Most the time they did not return calls. Towards the end of this nightmare our insurance company had informed us that the claim was now closed. Which means that Richardsons must have completed the work to be paid out. But we still didn’t get our car back for a few more days. Which they deny. And even then they charged us £50 over our excess. Which I xan only surmise was for admin. We feel we were messed about and palmed off on more than one occasion. Really they should have looked the car over in person. Assesed what was needed. And then booked us in when they were actually capable of repairing it. It should have been a red flag when Paul told me at the very beginning that its their policy to take the car in incase a customer goes elsewhere whilst waiting on parts/repair. To avoid this they should take a deposit instead of holding peoples cars for weeks on end. I cannot fault the actual end result of the repair. But it is a terrible service and I will never use them again. I do not recommend them at all

My car, Unknowingly to myself had some major problems. The team did their best to diagnose the problems in a timely manner and were honest throughout their investigations. They kept me well informed and gave me great guidance about what to do moving forward. They collectively spent a lot of time on my car but on collection refused to allow me to pay a penny as despite their efforts the initial problem couldn't be resolved. Lisa Dorton: Could not recommend these guys enough. After my car breaking down in Colchester and living in Cambridgeshire it was the best bet to get my car fixed In Colchester. I contacted the garage and spoke to Peter and Marc who were more than happy to help. They recommended a recovery to use as my car was a non runner when it broke down and the car was recovered the same day I contacted them and the necessary work on my car was carried out the next day. The commutation with the garage was 10/10 discussing what I needed doing before hand which I was happy to go head with. Being miles away in Cambridgeshire they were so understanding via collection. ANISH JACOB: Not worth rating as 1star. Went for an oil service. After the oil service the car started oil leak . All because of the unskilled work, the sump nut thread worn out due to improper tighting and they overfilled the engine with excess oil than capacity causing leak from other related parts.( Came to know when i checked it another service center) . And also charging higher amount . Kirit Shah: Well that was a disaster. I unfortunately sent my sister to this garage on the strength of the Google reviews - and it ended up being an expensive mistake. She needed two suspension links changing on her Mercedes as they failed on an MOT. Unfortunately East Hill Garage fitted parts which were completely wrong and failed to compare the new parts to the old parts. This resulted in the suspension link snapping off as my sister was driving it the next day and it with the link flapping around loose behind the wheel, quickly punctured through the wheel arch liner, and was lucky not to hit the brake line or puncture the tyre. It was also lucky this didn't happen as she was going around a bend which could have caused a complete loss of control mid bend. She lost out on several days work as a result of this as the car was undriveable and the garage who were initially concerned, quickly became less and less concerned or receptive as the days went on. She eventually asked for half the bill back (£170ish - which was very fair considering the damage to the car, the huge inconvenience and loss of wages). The excuses then started coming thick and fast, and suddenly the boss was never in etc etc. Then after they promised to buy a new wheel arch from Mercedes to replace the destroyed one, this then took several weeks of chasing up every couple of days, with them claiming not to be able to get hold of the parts (I phoned Colchester Mercedes who confirmed the part was available within 48hrs). Eventually she got £150 compensation and the garage reMOT'd the car FOC and found a fault with the tyre that the original MOT garage missed.The whole experience left an massively bitter taste, with the complete lack of responsibility being taken and the constant excuses from the management in a the age old attempt to fob people off in the hope they'll just go away eventually.I very much judge a business by how they respond when something goes wrong and I am completely understanding that these things do happen from time to time. However, this is where a businesses customer service is tested, and some, like EHG, tend to fall flat.

Ben: Came to view a car after seeing some ‘in depth’ videos of it on WhatsApp. The car had loads of faults that had clearly been avoided on the videos and not even mentioned. The MOT they had also done didn’t reflect any of the issues including cut tires. Overall quite disappointed with the service as car wasn’t as described so a long journey to see a misadvertised car.This is not inaccurate as the only damage mentioned was some stone chips on the front and none of the other issues where mentioned or highlighted to me in any communications. If I could attach the WhatsApp videos I would but Google Maps limits the file size. The sales person didn’t even know what car they where recording, calling it a Kia Sportage when it is nothing likeIn response to the owner this is till not correct as none of the issues where stated in the videos. Shame on the dealership for entertaining such misinformation. As some one who used to work in the trade i understand how it works and know exactly what misadvertising is and this is it! That was not an in depth video of the car, just because it features a walkaround of the car does not make it in depth. I also explained on the messages that i would not be collecting the car in person and someone would be coming on my behalf, and yes I did intend on buying the vehicle, hence why I put a deposit on and came on an 8.5 hour round trip to see the vehicle, which cost a significant amount in fuel. So tell me if that doesn’t show intent to buy the vehicle, what does?

Mark Locke: I have been having my car looked after my Mark at ML Autocentre for the last 6 years and frankly wouldn't go anywhere else. Mark always does a great job on the car and it always sounds & drives so much better after it's been in to him.Mark is aware I am on a budget and is always competitively priced, advises what work needs doing now and what work can wait til later. He provides a time frame as a guide of when deferred work should really be done by. I always have a rough estimate of what I think MOT/Service/remedial work is likely to cost me and with Mark it is never more than that, usually less. However I am always confident that the work is good quality and the car is safe.Both of my parents and several friends now use ML Autocentre to maintain their cars due to my experiences/recommendations. Good independent mechanic/garage cannot sing his praises highly enough!

There is a ramp with railings, which is good for someone who struggles to climb stairs. There's also the range nearby, so you can have a wonder in there while you wait. I used to work on the Cowdray centre site many years ago.They used to be just an MOT test centre with a few other services. Even thou they have moved across to a bigger buiding and give additional services, they still remain my go to test centre.Since retiring recently and moving to the coast, I still have the car tested here.Although I can still service the car myself and do minor repairs, they have always been honest and professional about any work that needs doing.I believe trust should be paid with loyalty.
