The Goat & Boot: what do users think?
Peter Li: Good local boozer, very quiet when we went in last night but friendly service and decent prices
James Fogg: Traditional pub with a good range of drinks and lots of places to sit and enjoy catching up with friends. Relaxed atmosphere. Recommended.
Hugh O'Reilly: Good pub, good beer.
kathryn wermter: If I could give zero stars I would. The staff here were so so rude and made our group feel very uncomfortable that we ended up leaving.
Iain Miller: Friendly service and good choice of drinks.Good parking and large drinks gardenOnly reason for 4 and not 5 was it a bit scruffy.
Dad Gone Gaming: Been coming in here since I was a kid with my old man. Management has changed a few times but it's still a great boozer
Gozo Gaz: Great pub really nice staff. Friendly atmosphere
R B: A bit of a disappointing visit. No large wine glasses available and most of the cask beers were off. Shame it can be a nice pub, but was not up to scratch today.
Ian Sleight: Was in Colchester for business and found this nice bar close to my hotel, the young lady behind the bar made me feel welcome and I'll definitely frequent her establishment again
Joanna Carr: Karaoke. Brilliant fun.
IANCU ANDREI: the best car wash
James Dawson: Lovely customers, but horrendously rude and standoffish barstaff. Such a shame. They behave absolutely appallingly and even made accusations to myself, which were not only untrue, but very very rude and not at a engaging on any level. Customer service level 0.... Fingers crossed they learn some manners sooner rather than later before they ruin a lovely pub
Lee Amos: Olde worldy pub.. we had a paddle with 3 types of drinks cider was warm..
Steve Dimmock: Nice clean pub, good choice.
Jacquie Russell: It was cold !
Emlyn Hughes: Absolutely fantastic pub proper old school place 💯😎👌. Lovely atmosphere very friendly people 😎👌. If you're looking for a good night get there 😉💯😎🙏
E b: Nice old pub. Shame they no longer serve food

George Meachen: Nice food
Cai: Nice feel to this place. Staff are friendly and so are all of the patrons I ran into!

Daisy woop: Friendly bar staff and banging tunes for us millennials 😂
Claire Spiret: Visited the town for a day and had a great Saturday night out in the V bar. Great rock and nu metal music, good drinks and friendly people.
Steve Dimmock: Good small bar, not over priced, but a lack of seating, great music.
Robert Jago: Good location, generally a hip crowd.
Dylan Read: The floors are sticky, the music is good. Great place to go when everywhere else is either closed or you want a louder end to the evening.
Sierra Stilwell: Small building big atmosphere, attracts quite a cliquey crowd. Staff know what they're doing

The Black Buoy: what do users think?
Matt Haigh: Good range of beers, we didn't eat hereFood & drinks: Good range of beers and real alesService: 4/5 …More
Simon “Dagremster”: Food & drinks: Lovely cold beer and friendly staffService: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
James M: Just 30 yards up from the Quay in the old part of Wivenhoe, this character Inn is in a great location. Sadly, at our time of visiting, they had no chef and so we were unable to have dinner or the breakfast included in our room rate. The landlady was very apologetic and refunded us the breakfast charge. It's a historic building across at least 4 floors. There is a covered outdoor area at the rear and a car park for two cars. The bedroom was reasonable with a comfy bed, TV and a good shower but was accessed by extraordinarily narrow, steep stairs that was more off-putting than quaint. The whole thing had little style, felt as though it had seen better days and did not feel value for money.
Mark Holland: Wivenhoe blessed with several great pubs and this is one of them too. Great place for a beer. Thanks👍👍👍
Nick Winch: Visited just before Christmas for an annual celebration lunch with a friend. Friendly and welcoming service, great food and good prices. Thoroughly recommend
blakey 17: Absolutely atrocious- we got in and didn't even get shown to our seat we got told wear to go, came over to take our order for drinks which came reasonably quickly then took our order for food waited for 45 minutes for the food to come out looking lovely but as all 6 of us went to eat it every single one of then was stone cold the gravy wasn't even warm we called over a waitress and told them it was cold and they asked us what they wanted us to do they finally clocked on it needed warming up we are now waiting for them to come out and its been half and hour to warm up so food and it's still not here. Do not recommend. Just bought a second dinner out and is still freezing cold absolutely horrible!
Phil Booth: Had a christmas lunch, with my daughter today. Very nice indeed, brilliant service and very nice food. Highly recommend
David Thomas: Delicious fish and chips in a traditional pub setting.
Graeme Davies: Great pub. Great beer. Lovely staff. Food top too. Dog friendly
C Uller: Table booking system is horrendous. It happened now 4 times that we book a table and get moved *while having drinks at our table before dinner* because they need the table for a last minute booking. And dinner menu of the week not available, and is replaced by lunch menu? They need to get their act together.
Bernard Obeng: Nice pub
Billy Lay: We was in there Friday night the 6 of us had alovey evening staff made you feel welcome we be going back again 👌
Ian Bown: It's not what it was😔,such a shame.

SUPERB!!!The staff were professional, polite, and very friendly. Modern and homely decor. Very Clean throughout.VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDVegetarian options: Menu allowed options for this.Parking: Parked right outside. Plenty of spaces.Dietary restrictions: Requested a couple of cocktails to be without added sugar. This was no problem and the drink was superb.
Phil Macinante: A very nice restaurant located in Great Bently. The atmosphere is modern plush and welcoming. The staff were professional, attentive and well presented willing to cater to our needs. The wine list has a well thought out selection with something to appeal to everyone. Our Table of 4 chose the traditional roast with 3 selecting the lamb done to our preference of medium, which was cooked to perfection, while the remaining dish was a rare roast beef that was also sheer perfection on a plate. The accompanying vegetable dishes and gravy topped off 4 extremely delicious meals of generous proportion and great presentation served by the friendly staff. There are numerous choices on their menu and I would love to return to try them. All in all our dining experience was brilliant and after travelling all the way from the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia, I would have to say it is at the top of our list for dinning that we have had here in the UK.Thank you Restaurant 43 for a beautiful Experience.Parking: Easy parking
