Aimée: We went to a wine tasting here last August for my partner's birthday. To this date, we can't stop talking about it. The gentleman who conducted the tasting had so much knowledge and wisdom to share. A beautiful story. I'm not someone who drinks alcohol but was able to embrace the experience and enjoy the tasting as much as my partner.We had a hamper which was cute but probably wouldn't add it in future.Definitely worth pre booking a taxi for pick up if no allocated driver.Would definitely recommend and would go again ourselves. Maybe next time we come Aldwick glasses will be added to the shop for purchase 😊

Hannah Gough: My husband and I got married at Aldwick Estate in March 2024, and it was absolutely incredible. All of our guests raved about how lovely a venue it is - it manages to be intimate even though it's really quite a big space! And it has a perfect rustic meets modern aesthetic! We loved that there were separate spaces, but it was all connected, so it never felt empty or imbalanced.The outside space was beautiful with excellent views over the mendips, and even though it was very early spring, there were some blooms and colour which made for lovely photos.The staff are just lovely. Sarah in particular was so helpful, detailed and attentive - I asked plenty of questions in the run up and they always came back to me quickly, and they couldn't do enough!The accommodation was also excellent. All our guests were very happy with the amenities. The rooms are fairly small but they have everything you could need and they're comfortable. The bridal lodge was fantastic and very luxurious.Aldwick have a great selection of decor items that they let you use for no extra charge, which is rare at most wedding venues! And the venue really doesn't need much dressing, as it's so beautiful, light and open, with those striking exposed beams.Their wine is really excellent and we were given a wine tasting as part of our package so we got to experience the accommodation beforehand whilst sampling the great wines that they have on offer.I am so happy that we chose Aldwick for this very special day, and we're very grateful to the whole team for making it happen!

Anthony Sutcliffe: Just a short distance from the main A38, and a few miles from Bristol Airport.They have some very well built and furnished rooms available onsite to rent, with exceptional views of the valley in which the farm is situated.One of their old barns has been converted into a modern facility that can be used for conferences; and is also extremely popular as a wedding venue.It has excellent toilets, a great bar, and kitchen facilities that provide Michelin star rated food.As part of the farm's policy of diversifying, they planted a number of vines about 15 years ago. Since then they have developed a range of wines, some of which have received the highest awards for quality.They offer guided tours of their vinyards, and the opportunity to taste some of the product; this was the reason we were there. As part of the tour, you can also order a picnic basket, and then sit out in the grounds, enjoying the view.They are quite rightly proud of their achievements, and this came across well during the presentation which was extremely informative.The walk around the vinyard was really enjoyable, but be aware that the ground is heavy clay, so it can be wet and muddy; a change of footwear is recommended.They sell the wines they produce, either from hhe bar, or as bottles or by the case. It's not cheap, but it is worth indulging in a bottle for a special occasion.

DMJ AM: We attended Aldwick Estate for a conference. The location is very nice - a little bit out of the way, but easy enough to find. There is ample parking. It is set in a lovely, quiet, rural location. The room we were in is well serviced, light, and attractive with good acoustics. The family and staff were very accommodating, welcoming, and friendly. The catering was good. It is a very good spot for a conference/meeting.

Shell Dare: We got married at this incredible venue on 15th September and it was everything we could have imagined and more. We looked at 12 venues before choosing Aldwick Estate and we both had the same feeling as we did when we bought our first home. We knew it was right for us and it did not disappoint.Our whole experience with the team has been great throughout; their communication impeccable and hugely responsive on email exchanges.Our pre wedding planning meeting with Sarah was warm and welcoming, visions for the day shared and help and advice given when needed yet encouraging us to do what made us happy.Everything on the day ran incredibly smoothly with a huge thanks to Sarah and Saffron for all their hard work they put in to making sure everything was perfect. The set up was exactly how I envisaged and the day ran seamlessly. All our guests absolutelyLoved the venue and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming.The food was absolutely delicious and cannot speak highly enough of the catering team who did an incredible job. It was a day we will cherish forever and we are so thrilled that Aldwick gave us the dream wedding we had our sights on. Thank you to each and every one of the team, it was literally the best day ever.

The drink selection was good, with a nice choice of cocktails and spirits. More draft lager/cider would have suited some in the group, but bottles were available. Pizzas and deli boards were good options for a semi-casual event like ours, we were even able to get a GF option on both. A great night overall!

We just finished our trip on the SS Great Britain Boat and we wanted to get the tour boat that took us across Bristol but we discovered we got on the wrong boat!We saw the bright side of this and figured to make the most of it Brown & Bye was hidden along the side and we were keen to check it out. Their menu is a little limited but don't make that out you off as we opted for the toastie, well the cheese, onion chutney and chorizo toastie and that came along with crisps too and I have to admit this was very good. It was just the right amount of flavour and we enjoyed every bite.We have sat both inside and out and I would recommend sitting outside you can so you can take in the views. The staff were very good with us and made sure we were fully satisfied. The hospitality industry is fierce and to this day we love coming to Brown & Bye because we know we are going to get quality food, good service and beautiful views.I've also taken some time to read the reviews so I can get a better understanding of what people think most of the complaints are about the price but they aren't accounting for the quiet season when Brown & Bue probably goes weeks without a customer and they still have rent to pay. I honestly thought my price was very fair and we had a lovely lunch. No complaints from my end.

It’s very close to a small ferry which runs across the harbour from the SS Great Britain. Good service and I recommend a visit here when at the Harbourside.

Dawn Rees: To start difficult parking as in hardly any found a parking place on the street opposite really lucky as two places left .The event area is very small so when you get a lot of people in quite difficult to read and see exhibits but we did learn a lot that we were unaware of about the Titanic as a person who enjoys history it was very revealing at only 15 pound entry quite reasonable but try and go on a quiet time

Long history and in-depth knowledge of wine, in beautiful old wine cellar settings.The tasting events are really good and worth their money.Update in March 2024: nothing has changed my opinion. We go regularly to their tastings and keep being wine here. There are often special deals that are worthwhile looking out for.

Folly Farm Centre: what do users think?

Ivy & Pine: We photographed our last wedding of the 2023 season at Folly Farm. It was a beautiful venue and a pleasure to work there. Our couple had their ceremony at a nearby church so we were at Folly Farm a little in the morning and then following the ceremony.The space there is amazing, and we felt so well looked after by all the staff.We are back at Folly Farm this year for a full wedding and we can’t wait.We would happily recommend this venue to any couples looking for their wedding venue.

Luke Dennett: Attended Folly Farm for a wedding, the venue, rooms for overnight stay and food were fantastic. All run by a charity as well so money going to a good cause. Staff also very friendly and helpful.

They were flexible with the couple up to the last minute decision on an outdoor ceremony. It was October but they almost got away with an outdoor ceremony!! Instead after a quick change to plan b the barn was set up and looking beautiful as if it had been the first choice all along!The food was great and they made us, as suppliers, feel welcome throughout which always makes the experience so much more enjoyable!It was a pleasure to photograph there and I hope to be back photographing another wedding soon!Dave

She was able to suggest so many amazing suppliers including photographers, videographers, cake, hair and make up, entertainment, furniture / games hire, just to name a few.Caroline also worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure our wedding day ran smoothly. My husband and I were able to relax and enjoy the day, which was testament to how organised and efficient Caroline was!

Not only did the decorations we hired provide the perfect finishing touch to the look of our day, but Caroline's service was brilliant from start to finish.
