The Spiny Lobster Fishmonger & Grill: what do users think?

Ian Ferris: Very nice local fish restaurant. Good quality fish, lovely friendly service, good cooking. We all had monkfish for main course. Good wines. Occasional jazz nights but usually quickly booked. Recommended. Also lovely attached fishmonger. Fish delivered from Brixham 5 days a week.Back to the fishmonger so many times. Lovely knowledgeable fishmonger Barnie, great fresh Brixham fish. I ordered two 750g cooked crab for long leisurely dinner with some fries and a bottle of white between us this Saturday night. Highly recommended. Now one of our very favourite restaurants. Small, atmospheric, white tablecloths. Always excellent fish, cooking, service, atmosphere. I'll usually choose from the 'Over the Fire' section. An expensive Josper Grill is used which imparts a lovely flavour to the fish. Try monkfish served this way. Another speciality is oysters. Try one or enjoy three or half a dozen, simply shucked and served over ice with shallot vinegrette. Fabulous!

aly: wow so beyond impressed by the quality of the seafood here! the grilled wild atlantic prawns starter was our favourite for a very well priced 12.9£, it was succulent, flavourful. the 3.5£ porthilly oysters were a tad bit high priced but it was wow so fresh and absolutely no fishy taste. the pollack with a crab sauce for 23£ was good too

Prop: Always excellent, friendly service and top quality food. Spiny Lobster manages to offer excellent fish at affordable prices, something that is very hard to come by: the compromise is that they work a 2-sitting system, but it's tremendous value for money, so no complaints. The wine list is also good value, and manages to go beyond the usual grape varieties.Vegetarian options: The chef will always do something for vegetarians but options are very limited.

sophie fry: What an amazing experience for lunch at the Spiny Lobster. Thank you to Casey and Molly for looking after us, from start to finish all the food was unreal.I would definitely recommend the baked oysters, garlic scallops, and the mussels were fab! We had tuna steak and monkfish for main and oh wow the tuna steak was cooked to perfection!! I would 100% come back here as I would love to try the Lobster when it's next on the menu. Also my favourite side was the orange salad,.the dressing on it was unbelievable! If you're looking for a chill atmosphere with great quality food then this is your place.

Tristan Shale-Hester: Incredibly friendly staff and pleasant, upmarket atmosphere. Food was absolutely sensational, great place for anyone who loves seafood. I wonder if an establishment of this standard could benefit from a slightly more formal dress code - smart-casual as opposed to casual might suit it better. But no real complaints overall, would highly recommend

Trev B: Our party of 6 had an early 6.30pm sitting. Getting a drink took a long time despite there seemed to be a lot of staff. We then waited a long time for our food order to be taken.Food was good when it finally arrived. By the time we had finished it was 8.15pm. We were then told they needed the table beck at 8.30pm. We rushed an ice cream. It is not reasonable to have sittings without slick service. The rushing spoilt our evening.Wheelchair accessibility: Toilets not accessible to wheelchairDown steep steps

FiSH Bristol: what do users think?

Gavin Jordan: Really nice, awesome service thanks for making our nice one to remember

Pragyan Mishra: Great place. I have rated it four stars because I had a bus to catch and they delayed my order, it was kind of my fault because I ordered it after almost finishing my meal. Lovely staff and great food.

Amir Joffe: The most delicious and interesting fish restaurant I've been to ever. Every dish is unconventional, yet incredible!

Yuval Kost: Good food and vibe. Friendly service.

Mike Murphy: Absolutely amazing food and the atmosphere was nice too!

Paul Meathrel: Great restaurant on a boat, the food was good and a lovely environment to eat in. The service was excellent, for instance was a slightly delay in one of our dishes coming up from the kitchen and the manager immediately deducted it from our bill even though the delay was negligible. First class service.

Daniel Gregory: and the setting is fantastic.

Catch22 Restaurant: what do users think?

Dahnya Hollier-Day: Love the place, however, I've had to knock a star off, as the opening times are random. And its frustrated my partner and I a fair few times now - as the only place with a vegan fish and chips, but we go there at the listed times, not open, go there within an hour, not open, its like they open for 5 mins, then close, or don't open, its unpredictable; thats the reason the point is lost, when open, they are perfect, every time.Vegetarian options: Vegan, vegetarian and corpse-eater options on the menuDietary restrictions: See vegetarianKid-friendliness: Staff are amazing every time

Raquel: It was quite good and traditionally prepared. Prices are also amongst the best you can find in the city. Definitely go for one of their drinks too, they carry some really special Ben Shaws!Recommended dishes Great Fish and Chips …

Allyn Nichols (Sober Mans Secret): Blinding! A lovely hidey hole from the rain and cold. Great food, freshly cooked and piping hot. Very tasty. Staff were great too. Also has wheelchair access ♿ which is brilliant. Highly recommend popping in or even delivery.Wheelchair accessibility: No grief... Straight in off the street without hassle. One of the very few ♿ friendly places.

James Rogers: Best vegan fish and chips that exist on this planet, so much flavour with the extra nori, with vegan sprinkles and some other bits. I’d recommend this over regular cod or haddock! So glad to have found it, and very pleasant and good energy staff.

T B: Lovely vegan fish and chips

Beth Sheehan: Best vegan fish and chips we’ve ever had!

Palomar Fish House&Bar: what do users think?

Carole Hodgson: My son and his girlfriend brought me here for an early Mother’s Day meal . Amazing food , all beautifully fresh and well presented. The whitebait, scallops, prawns were fabulous. The surf & turf fantastic. Thank you x

Athanasia Notta: and the delicious mackerel dish, accompanied by a beautiful Spanish white wine. Portion sizes were just right, and the flavours were extraordinary. And of course, the atmosphere and service were both outstanding! Can't wait for our next visit!

Lily Crowther-Smith: We went to Palomar for a belated Valentines lunch and I’m so glad we did. We’re huge seafood lovers and took a risk as we wanted to try somewhere new. It was very quiet but that didn’t detach from the experience, at no point did we feel rushed or watched. The atmosphere was very relaxed with lots of candles, comfy seating and music. We shared the surf and turf platter - it was incredible. The steak was so soft and cooked to perfection. The fish was all beautifully cooked and so flavourful. We were told the chimichri wasn’t available but that it would be served with a marie rose sauce which we said was fine. I expected a basic mix of mayo and ketchup but I couldn’t have been more wrong, it was spicy and flecked with fresh dill. A lovely accompaniment to the meal. I had a Bristol Tom Colins that was so savoury and dry, just the way I like it. My husband had a raspberry espresso martini which I thought might taste a bit synthetic but it didn’t, not too sweet either. He loved it. Our server with the Mohawk and excellent tattoos was really attentive and friendly.

Jack Fuller: Came for a late Valentine's meal. Friendly staff who, whilst busy, were really helpful and accommodating. Makes all the difference. We shared some nice wine and had an excellent Creole seafood boil to share. You cant go wrong with that combo. The boil has a generous serving of seafood, so you will not go hungry! Whilst one of the more expensive items, if sharing with someone it's really good value. 👍

Pim: .The atmosphere is very romantic. In the picture, the table looks so close to each other, but because the table is quite big and chunky. When I was sitting there and other customers came and sat next to us. We have quite plenty of space between others. We ordered scallops for a starter to share. I was surprised it didn't come with the shell like I thought should, but after i had a try, the taste is so unique and delicious!Wait quite a while for our main

Becky Chard: Went here a week ago after having a little search for a nice seafood restaurant to try with my partner. Amazing!! Will definitely be coming back it’s such a lovely hidden gem! The food was amazing! We had crab, oysters, lobster and scallops and definitely wasn’t disappointed, super tasty!! Will 100% be coming back, I need to try the seafood boil as a table next to us had it and looked fab!

Ioana Ciorogar: Absolutely delighted with my experience at the Palomar restaurant in Bristol! The service was exceptional, and the food was truly extraordinary. The variety of seafood dishes surpassed my expectations. The atmosphere was inviting, making it a memorable dining experience. If you find yourself in Bristol, don't miss the chance to savor the flavors of this hidden gem!The staff were truly exceptional. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and willingness to go above and beyond made my experience memorable. I felt genuinely cared for throughout my visit. Kudos to the outstanding team for creating such a welcoming atmosphere!

simon newman: We had heard about Palomar from friends and decided to give it a go. From the outside you would never have believed the quality of the food. The oysters served with no messing and very sweet and fresh they were. Seafood platter for main was super. All cooked and presented well. A good selection of wine at a very reasonable price. Would recommend this seafood restaurant and we will see you again.

Aqua Welshback: what do users think?

Udoka Dumebi: The finest part about celebrating my birthday at Aqua with my husband and two young babies was, without a doubt, the outstanding service I received. Justina welcomed me and took the time to make us all feel at ease while being incredibly attentive to all of us. I'm not exaggerating when I say that she deserves a raise for the level of care she provided.Plus, the food was delicious; I loved every bite, but my favourites were the seafood linguine, my husband's steak, which was so delicious, and the fantastic cocktail. The portions were generous, too. Later on, Gabby took care of us; she was fantastic. Then, as they brought my dessert, they both sang a song to me. I will be recommending Aqua to everyone I know for any kind of celebration because it was a fantastic day for me.Thank you so much for the superb service, Justina and Gabby. You two are absolutely amazing.Kid-friendliness: I had two children, both under three years old, and I went in with my double pram. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, they were offered pencils and colouring paper. The baby slept virtually the entire time, but my other child ate well and then dozed off in the restaurant. We went there on a Wednesday night, and it's fantastic for kids.

NICOLA THWAITE: Well, I had my first ever bottomless brunch on Saturday and it was absolutely FANTASTIC!Our server Justina was so lovely, informative and attentive. The drinks didn't stop flowing and the food was delicious! I had the vegan breakfast, it was very tasty. There was a lively atmosphere in the place despite it being thoroughly wet and miserable outside. We will definitely be back again some time.

Val Phillips: New Years Eve lunchtime, I had a nut roast and my sister had the beef. Both meals were well cooked and very filling.Vegetarian options: Already stated that nut roast was great.

Fleira Shimizu: We were there to take an "afternoon tea" and everything was awesome. The Jasmine Blossom tea was amazing and it was served with several appetizers. We actually went there without having lunch, but everything that was served was enough to fill us up.I particularly loved the chicken with truffle.Even the service was great, everyone was kind and careful about our needs. We were served by Angie with kindness and attention to our needs, She was great in everything and we really felt welcomed and comfortable, we really enjoyed this experience.

Kirk Tree: with a salsa Verdi, smashed new potatoes and samphire, the presentation was fantastic and again everything was cooked to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and certainly wouldn’t hesitate to return, highly recommended

James Williams: Fantastic food, good meat dishes for dinner. Lovely cosy atmosphere with mood lighting

Claudia Macerox: Recommended dishes Roast Beef, Sticky Toffee Pudding
