aly: there are some seats inside if you come when it isn’t too crowded, and the food was tasty! tried the vegetable tempura with rice, the dish could have had more dimensions and elements but for the price i’m not complaining. would try the bento next time to try all the pickled vegetables
Mark Churchill: Dishes are made fresh but service is very quick. Contactless payment speedy and simple. All the toppings and extras are a delight. Prices are good value. Simple menu – there is enough of a choice to keep everyone interested but not so much as to be hard to choose. The entrance is wheelchair accessible – no step. The guy who runs it is very good natured and goes the extra mile. And the first time I visited, the next person in the queue ordered in Japanese, having lived there for years and vouched for how good the food is. Highly recommended to anyone in/near Clifton for lunch.
jessie leung: Freshly made donkatsu bento is the best in town. Gives you authentic experience of Japanese dining. The sauce is spot on and there are a range of different options.
Parag Sharma: DonDon is my goto place for lunch. I usually end up taking the Chicken Bento the most, but all the available Bento's as well as Donburi's are great.PS - Sometimes, it can get quite busy during lunchtime. So grab items before peak lunchtime.
Daniella Van Rooyen: So so delicious I would absolutely recommend in a heartbeat! I didn’t know food could taste this good. The chef is also so friendly and just the best customer service. Definitely will be coming back!

Indra dos Santos Martinez: Have been there couple times and every time it’s been amazing, one of the best Japanese restaurants in Bristol. If you love sashimi and sushi like me, or seafood definitely place to go to. Good selection of started and mains and if you very hangry there are options of large selection of sushi and sashimi. We f you prefer fried food there are good choices too. The drink selection was good. If you visiting Clifton worth give it a try, sometimes tend to get busy so it’s worth giving a ring and book a table in advance. Can be delivered to home as well.
JONATHAN HAMMOND-WILLIAMS: Best sushi in Bristol. We’ve been getting takeaway from here for years. Highly recommend!Parking: Often very difficult to find parking nearby. When getting takeaway, I’ve often had to time it by dumping the car, run in, pick up food and pay and then go…!

Jake Smith: I was in Bristol for an event, and googled for a Japanese restaurant to eat before heading out. I timed my arrival well here, got a seat at the window bar and ordered. Within 30 mins the place was full and turning away people without reservations. The staff were friendly, indulged me when I spoke my poor Japanese, and made me feel welcome. The food arrived quickly, and was delicious. I had the Chicken Katsu, chicken yakitori skewers and edamame beans with house sake. The chicken Katsu was great, and the yakitori skewers were a delight. They strongly reminded me of being right back in Shinjuku and eating out in Japan. I loved them! Will definitely return if ever back in Bristol.ありがとう ございます

SY Ho: When I arrived at the location I thought I was going the wrong way cus there is nothing look like a Japanese restaurant. It is actually hidden inside a local pub. But! Food was great! Really a taste of Osaka as they offer Okonomiyaki and takoyaki. Surprisingly good food and authentic taste of Japan. Not much choice but they are all nice. Would be even better if they got Japanese nama biru in the pub! Haha
Mag: , kimchi, fried sweet potato and black sesame ice cream. We went back home and decided to cook our own japanese rice and miso soup as the pub was completely full. Everything was SO GOOD and made us feel like we were eating food in asia. Delicious and would highly recommend!!!
Fumika Y: Great authentic Japanese dishes!! There’re only few Japanese restaurants where you can get authentic Japanese food in Bristol but this place is the one! Especially their Monday menu, Takoyaki, is what I was missing so I was quite happy that they have it on their menu. Rich flavors and nice textures!!
Peter Allen: Excellent and authentic Japanese food served here! We had their Sunday menu which although limited was really good. We met one of the owners and chef, Liam and Marion who were lovely people and clearly passionate about bringing true Japanese cuisine to Bristol. My girlfriend is Japanese and said this is the best Japanese restaurant in Bristol. The pub is also a nice experience with a great vibe and a good selection of drinks.
Simon Sigurd Henriksen: Nice pub, decent food
Hol ly: This place is fab. Looks like they have expanded their menu since I visited so hope to return one day soon.
Christine Womman: Just there for drinks and good company!

Mil Ev: Called and booked table was ready and clean lovely atmosphere. Very attentive and good service. Good came out promptly and of a high standard. Very helpful and would go back again. High chair was the only down side to the visit as it was extremely dirty the straps looked like they had never been disconnected and washed. No toilet roll in the disabled/ baby change. But besides those fixable issues I really enjoyed my meal the portions are a decent size and there’s a lot to choose from.Vegetarian options: Good choiceDietary restrictions: Vegan, xuteb free, dairy free, no soy no egg no onionKid-friendliness: Lovely and smoky and happy to provide good sides to accommodate our baby. High chair could do with a deep clean and the straps themselves were disgusting.

Tina Li: Their Mapo tofu blew me away! It’s an unlikely dish to order in a Japanese restaurant as it’s Chinese, but I may have seen a photo of it and it looked good, the actual food far exceeded my expectations. It’s perhaps as good as you’ll get in China! I ate in this restaurant last Oct, but a friend happens to be in Bristol now so also gave this dish a try and it lived up to my hype!If you are yearning to try some signature Chinese dish, do give it a go.I’ll give it a thumbs up in a Chinese phrase - 吐血推荐: so good, it’s worth spitting blood to recommend!
Victoria Hannant: Absolutely delicious! Gluten free options and just stunning food.Food: 5/5 …
Meghan Mackay: were nice. Had a great time in the private karaoke room singing our hearts out. Would definitely recommend.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options and absolutely delicious.

Maja Gajkowska: Love Yo! Wherever we go, however our visit at Cabot circus last week wasn’t good, there were a mistakes in every hot food position that we have ordered. How can you mistaken prawn katsu with prawn crackers ? I don’t know but anything is possible there… make sure you’re double checking what waiting staff got in the order for you or you may wait a while for your hot food and then got a hot disappointment.
Melania Pena Marquez: Nice experience but staff is slow and your drinks will arrive when you are finishing your food. Also kids fall easily from the high chairs and they get hurt.
