Xenoyoga: what do users think?

Nicola Cotton: Sam’s yoga workshop at Folly Farm was really inspirational. She not only took us through the yoga poses in detail, but also worked with us to find new ways of doing them to enable us to improve our practice. Folly Farm is a lovely venue with beautiful rooms. The food was fantastic!

Susan King: Sam's intensive weekend course was amazing! I hadn't done Iyengar yoga for a while and it reminded me how good it was. Sam is a great teacher: rigorous but always with a sense of fun. Inspiring!

Kerrie Hunt: weekend of yoga with Sam at Folly Farm. Always come away from a session reminded of what a brilliant teacher she is, her heart and soul is on the mat with you and she helps you reach that little bit further in your practice than you thought you could every time. Thanks Sam

Tracey Howes: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualitySam is a very experienced teacher and makes every effort to get to know her students so that the yoga practices are safe and effective. I've noticed improvement in my alignment and flexibility and highly recommend Sam's method of teaching. You will also have loads of fun!

Martha Partridge: Sam's classes are just the best! I attend the Advanced class every week and really look forward to it. What I love is that I know I will be challenged and learn something new. The class has been really helpful in developing my yoga practice and awareness of my body overall. Sam's teaching style is fun, direct and clear, and I would highly recommend her classes to anyone.

Emma Peddie: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI've been going to Sam's yoga classes at Xenoyoga for around 5 years. As well as being great exercise, they are such fun. I've never known a yoga teacher with such a great sense of humour who makes us all smile as well as pushing us to work our bodies really hard. A workout for the brain as well as the body.

Parisa Sinai: I found Sam after trying a few yoga teachers. What I love most about her teaching is that she explains every pose patiently and repeatedly: what muscles should be working and what should the muscles be doing. She explains what you are trying to achieve with the pose. Slowly you realise you 'just' did a pose you could not do before! She pushes you and is at the same time careful about any injuries and pains. She is very knowledgeable about Iyengar yoga. She is passionate and this carries through in her classes and to her students. If you want a fun class to learn and push your boundaries, try Xenoyoga! Highly recommend.

Fred Freeman-Edmondson: Positive:QualityYoga is a very important part of my life, Sam was my first ever teacher and I have been enjoying her classes for many years. Her personality, sense of humour and exacting requirements are perfect for her new screen career on zoom!

C J Hunt: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityI have been one of Sam's students for over 9 years now, and would not want another teacher! She brings out the best in you, pushes you beyond what you think are your limits, and makes every class enjoyable. I have been lucky enough to attend 3 yoga retreats on the island of Zante with her and other students, and they were amazing.

Liam Duggan: Sam is a great teacher. Her instruction is very detailed and tailored to the individual. She will push you to do more than you think you can whilst also encouraging you to be realistic about your abilities and not do more than you are comfortable with. She clearly has a great knowledge and passion for yoga and helping students reap all the benefits it can provide. She also teaches with humour so whilst classes are focussed, the atmosphere is not ‘po faced’. Highly recommend.

nwoody1 nwoody1: Sam's knowledge, instruction and teaching of Iyengar yoga is impressive.I started with her as a novice and have progressed safely and steadily through to an intermediate thanks to her detailed and patient tuition. If you want a teacher that is patient, knowledgeable, ensures that things are done right and understood and with the right balance of firmness and humour then these are the classes for you.

Bristol School of Yoga: what do users think?

livvie wibrow: I have been going to Elizabeth's restorative yoga class for a few weeks now and it is just wonderful.Elizabeth is very calming and it is clear that she has good knowledge with this practice. I will definitely keep returning 😊

Lulu Ruby Rose: Laura's Creative Sequencing course was an absolutely fantastic weekend! I learnt so much; we explored so many new ideas together and it was a perfect combination of theory and practical work / movement. I highly recommend anyone who is considering taking one of Laura's intensive modules.

rachel dickens: YTT 200 testimonialI truly believe that this is the best course in the country. Laura, who has a wealth of knowledge and wisdom has carefully curated each module to advance understanding of yoga beyond the physical practise, from honouring ancient culture to the latest scientific research. I somehow managed to be pregnant, birth and have baby twins during the year long course andthis was possible through no small part thanks to Laura and the BSY team for being so welcoming of my new family

Sally Telford: I recently finished my 200hr in Hatha and Restorative, I was teaching from around the halfway point and my classes have been very successful - this alone says a lot!I felt that I learnt so much about yoga philosophy as well as the science behind movement - Laura and Ashley's passions really help broaden your knowledge. The whole team are great actually.I really enjoyed the course - every weekend was fun and full of learnings and I met some amazing people. I would highly recommend this school and frequently do.

Emily Tatford: I completed the Hatha and Restorative 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with Laura and Ashley! It was an amazing, transformative experience for me and I’m so grateful for all the knowledge and reverence for Yoga that Laura and Ashley have gifted us with. Both teaching styles complemented each-other and presented us with a very diversified experience with such deep knowledge in all areas of Yoga philosophy and practice.Plus, on a personal level I’m so grateful for the BSY community that I’m now a part of and both Laura and Ashley held my mental and physical wellbeing really well which I’m so grateful as that really was going the extra mile. Will definitely be back for more ❤️

Hannah Young: I have just completely my 300hr advanced teacher training with Laura and team at Bristol School of Yoga and it has been incredible.Laura seamlessly integrates yoga traditions with science informed learning in a trauma sensitive and inclusive way. Making it all very relevant today. Her hugely in depth knowledge and experience is shared with love and compassion.I highly recommend Bristol School of Yoga for classes and teacher training. Thank you Laura and team.

lesley-ann Eaton: Laura Gilmore has created a totally amazing space at Bristol School of Yoga. Her teaching approach, knowledge, compassion and insight is quite simply incredible. Life changing. Thank you Laura I’ll be back!

Sky Yoga: Laura is AMAZING.Her charisma makes for a really interesting day - from someone who struggles to concentrate on any training, I didn't lose concentration once. She guides yoga teachers to lead yoga classes that are suitable for ALL BODIES. Her teachings are so accessible that it makes it easy to translate it into offering accessible yoga.If you're considering signing up for a training with Laura then absolutely do it.

Eponine Laming-Nash: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityAn absolutely amazing course. If you're looking to feel inspired in your teaching or Sequencing, don't hesitate to join BSY's creative vinyasa Sequencing course. 4 days of non-stop creativity and movement. Makes you feel like a student again and gain back a sense of playfulness.

Bex Lloyd: Such a great yoga school - the knowledge and delivery of the course material is brilliant, Laura and her teachers share such wisdom. I've just completed my 200hrs with the school and I already want to go back and learn more! Thank you BSY x

Bella Somerset: I'm on their 300 hour YTT and i'm loving it. Laura's experience and teaching weaves in so many things that i will take out into my own teaching - work around the nervous system, body mobility, gentle weaving in of the spiritual philosophy of yoga. I would recommend this to anyone looking to level up their teaching and feel a part of a supportive community of people looking to grow along the same lines. Ashley was also a great additional teacher on some of the courses.

Nina Millar: Positive:Professionalism,QualityHaving just completed my 200hr TT, I can thoroughly recommend the Bristol School of Yoga. The teachers have such an impressive knowledge and a contagious love for what they do and welcome you into their studio with real warmth and enthusiasm.

Kerry Duggan: Absolutely inspirational place to learn and practice

Eloise Allen: This course taught me so much more than just ‘how to be a yoga teacher’. In summary, this course is a journey of self- exploration, community and yoga teaching.

Joanna Wastell: I have found classes at Bristol City Yoga and courses at Bristol School of Yoga to be of a very high standard. Laura leads with a dynamic, thoughtful and intelligent approach that combines insight from current developments in areas such as fascia and the influence of the nervous system with a practice grounded in the strong roots of yoga’s history. Her classes are always challenging and nourishing. Her real passion for yoga is shown in the creativity and quality of her teaching.I discovered Laura’s classes at the beginning of the Covid 19 lockdown and have followed her classes and training avidly since. I had experienced years of trouble with tension in my shoulders and I now have none - thanks to Laura’s intelligent tuition they are freed!! I find Laura’s classes quite unique in their ability to provide the right balance between developing strength and ease.

Kate Scofield: . They've got it all!I became one of Laura Gilmore's yoga students back in 2012 & was instantly hooked! She has a fantastic skill of welcoming everyone, holding a safe space for experience & learning, & endlessly inspires a stronger thirst for her mass of incredible knowledge. After attending a few of her classes at Bristol City Yoga I knew I wanted Laura to teach me to become a yoga teacher :

Lisa James: Positive:Professionalism,QualityI really couldn't recommend Laura and the Bristol School of Yoga highly enough - they're an exceptional team of teachers offering a diverse set of training modules who really do live and breathe the values and truth of yoga.

Clifton Sky Yoga: what do users think?

Eve Roberts: Amazing classes with lovely teachers!

Alice Nava: Went while pregnant, loved the pilates and yoga classes. Many instructors were pregnancy trained and ensured I was always okay and adapted their classes. The classes were fun, professional and a good pace. Would highly recommend! Wish I had stumbled across this place sooner.

Poppy Molyneux: Sky Yoga studio is a warm and welcoming environment. It is equipped with anything you may need and suitable for all abilities. I have just completed there very reasonable new starter package, which has been so nourishing to try different classes and different teachers. I really enjoyed Poppy’s and Summers vinyasa classes, they have been super grounding and connective, with lovely guided meditation and flowy-ness. But they have also been relaxing, friendly and fun, taking away any seriousness and more enjoyment for the moment. Sky Yoga has given me an instant feeling of connection, something I realised my body has needed, I will be making this a weekly routine - and with so many classes to choose from it should be no concern to fit in around work🙏🏼.

Maria Bickley: Very good instructors!

Georgia Kemp: and I have left feeling calm and rejuvenated. The teachers and the studio are very welcoming and I love the addition of hot water bottles and hot herbal teas for class!

Valerie Baranova: Love this studio, the teachers are amazing and the ambience in the studio is great! Would defiantly recommend it to anyone! I joined go re start my yoga practice as I have been out of practice for a year. This is a great space for a community

Elyssa Mckeown: Going to Clifton sky yoga is like having a big hug. Everyone is so warm and welcoming, both teachers and fellow class go-ers, that even as a novice it doesn’t feel awkward or intimidating. The classes themselves are great, the teachers make it easy to follow the moves so you can challenge yourself to a level you feel comfortable with. Would recommend!

Seren English: literally the most calming and welcoming environment. all the instructors are so lovely and the studio is such a wonderful place to relax and flow

Jessica Simmons: So glad to have discovered this yoga studio. It's such a cozy space and everyone is very friendly and welcoming, I also got to try Aerial yoga for the first time which was great. Looking forward to coming to many more classes

Special shout out to my teacher Nicole and my fave holistic massage therapist Ruby for never failing to amaze me. If you’re ever in doubt about starting always remember you’ll be greeted with a smile, a warm cup of tea and a 5* yoga class.

East Village Cafe: Always the friendliest staff ❤️

Bethan Gibbs: A beautiful yoga studio, the kindest people, the best classes. I have loved every minute I have spent here.

Hester Careless: leave a class at CSY feeling grounded, connected, and freer and lighter in my body, mind, and spirit. Thank you CSY!

Elizabeth Honan: Clifton Sky Yoga gave me my first steps away from YouTube at home yoga, to community and personalised teaching! From the outset, Briony gave me a personal 1 on 1 to the studio, and answered any and all questions I had as a complete beginner. All of the classes and instructors are fantastic, knowledgable, and wonderful human beings who are all over the moon to help you in your practice, encourage you to try new things and challenge yourself, or to embrace where you feel most comfortable. I’d highly recommend the studio to anyone, beginner to advanced!

Lina Kabbadj: I've been enjoying the diversity of classes, from slow flow in the evening to more active vinyasa and Pilates ones. Looking forward to making some of my friends discover it too, as getting a free spot to offer each month as a member.
