There was a pianist there when I visited which really enhanced the atmosphere. The café is good, as is the coffee, and you can visit the café and shop without having to pay to enter.I visited on a wet Winter morning and it was easy to while away 3 hours. If I chose to look at all the artifacts more closely it would have taken longer. The staff and volunteers were friendly and helpful.

RockReef: what do users think?

Samantha Midgley: Really great fun family afternoon. The staff were so helpful and attentive, it wasn’t over crowded and we all had a great time.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait …

Emma Sweeney: We went here on a Sunday morning with my two sons. My youngest son has autism, and we were unsure as to how he would cope with the noise, crowds and listening to instructions. We had arrived early to allow him to adjust to the environment and were waiting and watching the people in the previous session. I asked one of the assistants if she knew how busy the session would and explained that I was asking due to my son having autism. She answered me and then walked away only to return saying that she had spoken with the manager and was able to show us how to use the clips and harnesses earlier than the rest of the people attending the session. This was totally unexpected and we gratefully accepted it as it meant that my son was able to cope with listening to the instructions without having to manage a room full of people and the noise that comes with that. He thoroughly enjoyed his time there, as did my eldest and we will definitely go there again when next in Bournemouth. Thank you for being so understanding and going above and beyond for us!

Jessica Harding: Great time had by all. Our 6 year old boys loved it. Big thanks to the staff, especially Savannah for the patience they showed when one was a little nervous of the high line and pier cave. Will be visiting again.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …

Giridhar Damodaram: Kids loved it. 2 hours was not enough, would love to go again.

Victoria Beer: We organised a corporate activity day for 70 people and everyone loved Rock Reef. The team looked after us really well, it was well organised and everyone loved the variety of climbs. Even those who only spectated really enjoyed it.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

joanna zglinska: We had a lovely time ,Jess was an amazing host ,thank you

Siana: My partner and I went rock climbing and we were deceived by the ease in which children clamber up the walls! Do not be fooled by these dexterous children! Some of these walls are so hard for adult beginners but I enjoyed the challenge very much. We spent about an hour and 15 here before we were tired out but it was something fun and different to do around the area.

Nikki Kent-Smith: warning for parents - it is very narrow inside the tunnels! Just the one time around was plenty enough for me 🤣 they enjoyed going around a few more times without me, but didn’t do it for a full half hour.Thank you rock reef for the 1/2 price locals offer you have running, we really appreciated it! The boys are already asking when we can return, so we will be back again soon.

Jay Kavanagh: Great fun for the kids! They loved climbing around the facility. Perfect for kids birthdays.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Claire B: Definitely need an adult to help clip in every time. Staff were really great though.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Tom: A fantastic day out at Rock Reef! I took our 2 daughters aged 6 and 10 and they thoroughly enjoyed the place, both pushing their limits! Good value and great fun.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Claire S: Good variety of walls and it's good they limit numbers/sessions.At the start, would have been quicker to hand out harnesses and then tell us all how to put them on with a check after as it took a while to get to us.Still think it's quite pricey so wouldn't go too often.Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …
