Lovely place to spend time with kids , not very big but has almost everything you need. Well maintained and good design. Usually fully booked if you went straight away better to online prebook. Single and Family tickets available with reasonable price. The shop has good stuff for the kids. I recommend it for anyone who is interested in the aquariums. Walking distance from town Centre.


Our kids love visiting the Oceanarium when we come to Bournemouth, it is fun and educational, there is always something new, we love it.

Wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, well worth the money especially at student prices! Especially recommend the penguins x

Staff were great and very helpful.. great selection of wife variety of sea creatures.. Loved the tunnel too especially the sharks!!

We had a family visit to this aquarium and it was definitely one of our favourites so far. The layout is really nice and there is a lot of information about the projects they do... wildlife conservation and educating people about what is happening in nature.

Went for New Year’s Day trip out, it was £13.50 each, was very nice inside and maintained well, their are lots of interesting facts to read along the way would recommend it

Latest update: Our Sensory rooms and dinosaurs den are open on Saturdays from 10:30am till 4pm. Please note that we are not open during term time for sensory rooms during the week days.

Enjoy exploring our basement, full of dinosaurs and fossils. Become a fossil hunter for a day, and a dinosaur artist. Make new roarwesome friends, and get immersed in a sensory world. Something different to share in family. The joy in the smile of your children and their gleaming eyes will make your day!

Suitable from babies to 6 years old. No need to book in advance, just turn up and pay at the counter. Relax and enjoy!

What’s going on at the Science Zone in Bournemouth this May half term?


- 'All about Dinosaurs' Dome Presentations at 10:30am from 30th May till 1st June included.


- 'All about Space' Dome Presentations at 11:30am and 14:30pm from 30th May till 1st June included. These are fully guided interactive presentations with time for Q&A with the presenter.

These presentations are suitable for adults and children aged 3 years and above. They last approximately 45 mins and costs £4.00 inc VAT per person.

- Dig your own fossil family activity: We supply a standard sized pre-prepared block with fossils and tools. Excavate genuine fossils that are millions of years old using the included tools of the trade: a chisel, brush, and magnifying glass. This kit makes an excellent STEM activity for boys and girls!

- Sensory rooms and Dinosaurs den open to the public from 10:30am till 4pm. Ideal from babies till 6 years old kids.

Tickets for sensory rooms and Dino den are £2 per person or family ticket (2 adults + 2 children) for £6. No need to book in advance.

Creative May Half Term Code Ninjas Camps at the Science Zone:

We are bringing a lot of fun and creativity this May half term at the Science Zone with our Camps.

Drop your kids at Code Ninjas Bournemouth for them to have a blast with us in these popular Camps. Learning and fun guaranteed!

UNLEASH YOUR CHILD'S INNER NINJA. Transform your child's love for technology into an exciting learning adventure. Guided by our team of Code Senseis, Code Ninjas Camps empower kids to gain valuable tech skills and make new friends. It's an unforgettably fun learning experience!

Throughout this camp, Ninjas will make silly dancing robots, a working safe with password detection, a racing rhino, and more! Using the LEGO SPIKE Prime robotics kit, Ninjas will learn the fundamentals of how to design, build, and code robots. They will also apply their new knowledge of sensors, motors, and coding as they construct their own creations.

2pm-3:30pm: an hour and a half camp per £25 child or £20 per child if booking more than one kid.

Developed for experienced Minecraft players, this camp teaches Ninjas how to make unique mods (modifications that change the game)! They will create their own custom tools, weapons, armour, enemies, and more! By the end of the camp, Ninjas will be able to export their mods for friends and family to explore at home using Minecraft Java Edition.

Dates available: 31st May (10am-1pm) and 2nd June (10am-1pm).

In this hands-on, fully guided experience, Ninjas will learn the basics of game building and creative development in Roblox, an exciting, online gaming platform. Ninjas will spend their time building and exploring new worlds in Roblox before sharing their creations locally and globally. This camp will teach Ninjas how to plan, design, and build their own 3D world to create much more than just a game!
