Visitors can expect to find an oasis of green where wildlife thrives, with buzzing wildflower meadows, lakes, marshes, and sun-dappled woodland. There are wild play activities for children, a Visitor Centre for relaxation, and a variety of natural habitats to explore.

This tourist attraction is home to a huge array of wildlife, including warblers, Reed Buntings, Lapwing chicks, bees, butterflies, thrushes, waders, ducks, finches, and woodpeckers. Visitors can enjoy spotting these animals throughout the different seasons.

There are 2 Blue Badge spaces close to the Visitor Centre entrance, a level car park made of rolled gravel, and an accessible unisex toilet with baby changing facilities. The paths around the reserve are suitable for strolling with a pushchair, and there are no stiles, kissing gates, or barriers across the paths.

Dogs on leads are welcome on the paths around the nature reserve. There are also dog water bowls available at the back of the Visitor Centre for the convenience of visitors with pets.

Visitors can bring science and geography lessons to life with curriculum-linked sessions run by the learning team on the reserve. These hands-on, practical sessions offer a variety of learning experiences for school visits. More information about school visits can be found on the attraction's website.
