Visitors can enjoy picnics, barbecues, walks, and fun on the beach at this park. There are forested trails, a spacious beach, a visitor center, and a cafe for visitors to explore and enjoy.

This park is home to a wide range of wildlife including hedgehogs, rabbits, badgers, a large rookery, jays, grey wagtails, dippers, seals, herons, shags, guillemots, and Brent geese in winter. Visitors can enjoy spotting these animals while walking along the coastal path.

Near the park, visitors can find Grey Point Fort, an historic monument completed in 1907 to defend Belfast from sea-borne attack. The enormous guns of the fort can be seen from the coastal path located west of Helen's Bay beach.

The park offers a visitor center, a tea-room/cafe, toilets, and car parking facilities. The Woodland Cafe is open daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and the toilets in both the Visitor Center and in the park are open from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. Car parking is available at various locations within the park.

The park will be closed from 1pm on Christmas Eve, with the cafe closing at midday, and all day on Christmas Day. The park will reopen with normal hours on Boxing Day, and the cafe will reopen as normal on December 27th.
