National Trust - Divis and the Black Mountain: what do users think?
Gavin Williams: Great walk for a couple of hours which is also relatively easy.I would recommend following the ridge trail (to the right after the cafe building) if you have time, to take in a view over Belfast as you walk towards the summit (s).I arrived late on a sunny day and the lower car park was almost full. The cafe and upper car park had long closed when I arrived. There are well laid gravel paths all the way around which are easy to follow. There are paths to enable access to either or both summits. The views in the evening on a sunny day are spectacular. This seems to be a very popular walk which is good to see.I managed to power round the longer trail in about 90 minutes.
cliodhna daykin: One of my favourite walks. Recommend you wait for a day where it isn't windy though and the wind here is very intenseVisited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More
Noel Maguire: How lucky are we to have this on our doorstep! Rain, hail or shine we take to the mountain for a dander. You see something new everytime you go up!Wait time No wait …More
kevin kelly: I love this place whether it's warm or cold it's always beautiful
RussE: A 20min drive to a great location. You can park at the lower carpark if the site is closed and walk past the vehicle access barriers. There is a carpark at the visitor center, where a small cafe, toilets are located. Go early if you want to avoid people and get a parking slot. The Summit route will take you up to Divis mountain and across to BlackMountain - both have stunning views over Belfast and the Lough on good days. The climb to Divis is a constant incline, from the carpark at a good pace done in 30mins- rest of the route not as testing For a challenge, walk up Divis, then Blackmountain and then up the vehicle access road back up to Divis- a steeper incline- back down to the lower carpark-15km approx.Plus's , not having to pay for a NT site!. Only negative and not 5 stars, the cows are now roaming the mountains, paths covered in dung.Nevertheless, enjoy the walk.

Disha Shetty: If you are new trek enthusiast , this trek is for you. Not that difficult to climb but a long way so do try and start early in the morning. Take your dogs along for that extra energy and fun. View from the top is WOWWW , entire belfast is visible from the top.

John McCombe: Stunning city and landscape views
George J Watson: Great walks here just above Belfast. The imposing Black Mountain can be seen from all over Belfast. It is very worth the short drive up the mountain to see the views. The walks are fairly straightforward with good paths and 3 signposted walk options: 30mins, 90mins and 2 hrs. Great views and a chance to catch some fresh air. When there drop into The Barn Cafe.
Ashley Dunwoody: Fantastic place for a walk, we love it. Great well marked trails of different length and all with amazing views, and a wee cafe too, very busy tho at weekends.
Wayne (Del.): Doesn't matter what day you go, I always go early early , or late evening... works for me.... want to clear your head, forget work, or maybe think things through ? Or maybe just a little me time, away from the rat race... this is your place.... you can even stop for a quick coffee or tea and be on your way again..... check times in advance tho for this ....
Wasim Mir: Visited 02/01/2023, advise to get to site early if driving as this was a bank holiday and parking was at capacity. The long route along the main road path to the summit is accessible for prams but wouldn’t advise taking the summit trail once at top as the path is more for walks without very young children, we had a two yr old so pram was best bet this visit. I would advise due to the wind levels and inclement weather which changes at short notice to take waterproof clothing, gloves, hats etc and stay warm (unless the height of summer).Great location with equally great views and recommend visiting⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Adam Cook: The following review is based on a pre-pandemic trip going old school and only using paper maps and brochures to find places to stop at on a 3-week adventure to Ireland, Scotland, and England. No cell phone or internet. The Albert clock was listed as one of the items to see when visiting Belfast. The clock has a gothic style architecture which is prevalent throughout the city and its historical buildings. The clock was built for Queen Victoria’s consort, and Price Albert which seems like a pretty extravagate gift for such a event. As part of the city walk, the clock helps you keep your bearings as you are walking around the town as you can't always find city street signs as they are at the tops of buildings.

c :: It's just a clock but 5/5 because it does indeed tell the time.
Flynn On Tour: It was erected in 1865 to commemorate Prince Albert and was Belfast’s answer to Pisa’s leaning tower. The clock doesn’t just tell you the time and looks nice, it also features a statue of Prince Albert and carved crowned lions.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More
