The Malone Hotel: what do users think?
Alastair White: This is a great hotel. Good value as well. Would have given 5* for the rooms but there was a little issue.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Gary Donohue: Nice food lovely friendly staff very helpfulRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Kim rogers: Absolutely fell in love with the Hotel beautiful room, great restaurant, fabulous bar food , great prices , we will return very soonRooms: Beautiful decorated, very clean
Judith Prentice: Rooms very clean. Breakfast superb, with a great staff and chef. Reception beyond excellent. Have travelled throughout New York, Paris, Rome, Singapore, Cambodia, Latvia , Hong Kong etc and yet the Malone beats all for courtesy, efficiency and friendliness. For example, I had a small issue concerning noise, and within less than 5 minutes it was dealt with. Parking is available and staff go out of their way to make travelling comfortable. We highly recommend the Malone Hotel, near the docks, and within walking distance of Queen’s University.Rooms: Clean, large, quietNearby activities: Queen’s University and student Union within walking distance. Numerous pubs with good lunches.Safety: Notices abound about use of lifts, etcFood & drinks: Breakfast superb, helpings generous and varied.
Thomas Morrissey: Really really nice clean and very friendly helpfully staffRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Maria Alejandra Papasidero: Excelente lugar. El personal muy amable y profesional. Se encuentra en un entorno tranquilo, a unos 30 minutos del centro que caminando se hace muy lindo para recorrer.Rooms: Impecables! Amplias y cómodas!
Stephen McAsey: We really enjoyed our stay. Reception was very warm and friendly. The room was a nice size and well equipped. The cleaning team did an excellent job. It’s location, we found, was ideal. The city centre is 1 1/2 miles down the gentle hill so an easy walk for most, but the uphill return might be challenging if you have been on your feet all day. Regular buses (£1.70) are an option, and even the “City Tours” bus stops outside the hotel!I have not seen any negative comments concerning breakfasts and have drawn the conclusion that our experience is a reflection of more recent developments. We were there for a week and witnessed a unhappy team that was able to prepare a breakfast of reasonable standard. The service for delivering the breakfast was erratic from day to day. Each day there seemed to be different teams. Some days they were very proficient. Other days they were proficient but looked thoroughly miserable. A couple of days the team was short staffed and the poor guy (Tony) who was left on his own managed to get through it. He was very polite and communicative. One of the chefs seemed to be on a go slow for one breakfast and was perfect the next day. All in all, the team needs to be happy and working with each other for the benefit of the customers and the hotel.
michelle d: Staff was friendly and well informed.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
Gary Dormer: Everything about this hotel is outstanding. The spacious quiet rooms (we must have got a free upgrade I think?), impeccably clean, the staff are fantastic, bar and food are excellent, the Lobby area is glamorous and comfortable. I’ve stayed in $1100 per night hotel on Fifth Avenue and The Malone is better value for money ! Thank you so much.Rooms: Spacious, clean, huge bed, lovely view, very comfortable, lovely furniture. I think we may have got a free upgrade and if we didn’t these rooms are unbelievable value for money.Nearby activities: It’s only a very short taxi drive away from the City Centre but so much better to be clear of the hustle and bustle of the main streets. Much more suitable for elders like ourselves. We loved it here and the red tour bus stops right outside!Safety: Felt totally safe. Locals are so polite, considerate and friendly. Shops nearby for groceries etcWalkability: Lovely tree lined street in what looks to be a very posh area of Belfast City.Food & drinks: The food and drinks (Guinness) was great.Noteworthy details: I loved the furniture in the lobby and restaurant. The room was really quiet and extremely comfortable.
Anna Marie McCourt: Lovely ,comfortable hotel.Rooms clean.Rooms: Clean, spacious, beds comfortableWalkability: Close to Botanic GardensFood & drinks: Breakfast dissapointingNoteworthy details: No residence bar

Yvonne McCann: We were staying in Annex across the road. Room was lovely. Went to bar for drink as it is a ‘Haverlee’ bar but they had ‘run out’ of Haverlee on a Saturday evening! The bar man ‘Kevin’ dropped my charge on bar instead of into my outstretched hand. Later in room we phoned reception for some ice and bottle opener to be told to go over to reception and get it as short staffed. I asked if I was to get out of bed get dressed and cross the road rather than get basic room service. After being transferred to The manager ( who was very understanding) we got the ice 10 minutes later. The guy (Stephen) at reception was very pleasant and accommodating! All in all it was a pleasant stay - just some staffing issues need to be looked at.
Rhiannon Bland: Stayed here for one night in early February, everything was great, service in particular was professional and extremely helpful, Aidan checked us in after a busy day and was extremely helpful and answered any questioned we had, couldn’t of been happier with his service, would highly recommend this hotel.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More
Kevin: I stayed here in Febuary. Rooms were great, the beds were some of the comfiest ive ever seen. James: Literally the only Leonardo’s I’ve ever been to that doesn’t have air conditioning. Rooms are miserable on a hot, humid summer day.Won’t ever be coming back.

Nicole Anderson: Beautiful hotel exceeded our expectations. Rooms were clean and big enough for our family of 4. The location was fantastic and close to city center and other spots to eat and shop etc. Internet was great too for 2 ipad crazy kids. Lol. We will be back!Safety: Key required to get into the elevator so added to the feeling of safety.Walkability: Easy walk to multiple shops and places to eat. Bus stop right outside the door and taxi tours right outside too
Terry Wilson: Great location and within walking distance to most things. Room was clean and quiet.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Clare Cuthbertson: Great hotel. We initially stayed here as we were on a game of thrones tour and this hotel was where the coach picked up.Would visit again. Breakfast was amazing. Good coffee, nice quiet room up on 4th floorRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Martin Trend: Excellent location,2 streets away from bus station (use the 300 route if travelling from Belfast International airport)5 mins walk to main city centre.Very good breakfast, essential if you are sightseeing rather than trying to find places to eat elsewhere.Staff very friendly and accommodating.Rooms spacious and bright.Does become noisy at night with vehicle traffic but these were isolated and not constant. However although the hotel has been refitted (formally Jury's hotel) the finish in our room was less than you would expect from being recently refurbished, cracks through plaster in bathroom, adjustable spray for shower head seized and any movement resulted in the whole head unscrewing and shooting water across floor.Shaver socket and wall sockets having holes in plasterwork behind so you can see the void etc behind. The only storage /shelf in the bathroom was directly above the toilet so you can imagine if anything fell off and you happened to leave the loo seat up !!Thankfully this never happened but poorly designed considering the other half of bathroom was just wasted floor space. We never brought these issues to the staff as realistically there not the sort of things that could be easily rectified at the time and only staying for 4 days didn't need the upheaval of swapping rooms.Other than these isolated niggles all in all the rooms were very good,an excellent location for the price so would highly recommend.Rooms: Could be better finished but bright, airy and of good quality.Nearby activities: City Hall hop on/off bus tour pick up.Opera House.Crown bar oppositeSafety: Very friendly locals although city centre can become 'rowdy' after shops have closed.Walkability: 5 mins to city hall/city centre.2 streets away from central bus station for airport connections.Food & drinks: Sunday trading hours only until 6pm so if you are looking to eat out make sure you remember this as only places to get food after this point will be the likes of McDonald's !
veronica durrant: Fab hotel great prices fab staff central to everythingWalkability: Central to all amenities and shopping centreRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Hugo: Not worth the money. The location is the only nice thing and deserves 4 stars. Water pressure in the shower is low, no toothbrush and toothpaste were provided (nor given), breakfast quite dull, room not in a cleanest state...Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Evgeniy R: Not worth for this money £200 night. No breakfast include. Very small room just for 3 persons. View on the neighboring windows. Good thing is near from center. Hilton in same place has same price but with breakfast and bigger rooms.
Daniel Scullane: Beds comfortable, rooms are a good size. Traffic can be heard via closed windows so be aware if you are a light sleeper. Bathroom is good and breakfast is better than most chains. Location just a couple of minutes from buses and trains.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Laura Gaffney: We arrived for check in at 2pm, a little early but thought we would try. The systems were down and no alternative measures were put in place. They had no air con, no updates, they took lists of names of people who had arrived and thought they would prioritise these but started to check in going through a queue of people who had arrived long after we had. There was nothing given to guests as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused but not even just that, there was no apology even given to guests for such a huge delay in getting guests to their rooms. Bags that were being held were lost and the toilets in the lobby were absolutely filthy. We finally checked in 3 hours after we arrived! This hotel is an absolute disgrace and the staff need to be highly trained on customer service as they had no interactions with guests what so ever! I would never step foot back in this hotel and would be telling others to avoid this hotel at all costs.
Joan Grant-Mann: Just recently checked in and were given "the only room available" which is an ADA first floor room, stuffed in a random corner of the hotel, overlooking the carport ...:/ only a full size bed for two guests, no vanity in bathroom to put toiletries or a place to put luggage in room but on floor.... have requested to switch with front desk who are claiming they have no other rooms for us. This is a type of room that is supposed to be "saved" for ADA guests and typically not sold unless they have oversold regular rooms. I would not recommend this hotel.
Ksenia Tehza: Could be cleaner. Nice location though
